      @@ThatFixItGuy Hello THAT FIX IT GUY hoping to hear from you today. I had a kitchen leak around the faucet area. I put in the rubber or o-ring or gasket whatever you call it for some call it one and another...put in the rubber with the spring like I have been doing for years in the handle and it stopped the leak on the cold, the hot was fine. So the next day the very old line started leaking under the sink on the cold. I have never changed it in 20 years, so I changed the line under the sink for the cold. The leak stopped yesterday. Ran the water all day then today, the center faucet line started leaking!
      Is this just a coincidence or can water pressure cause this? This line is also really old and doesn't look good. Do you think I am wasting my time and just need a whole new faucet? I know the basics, have changed the cartridges thru the years, but they seem fine. I am just totally stumped that I have a new leak in the center faucet now.
      Thank you so much!

    I know this video is a year old but you absolutely saved me about $70. I had a terrible drip so I popped the handle and that plastic ring had no give, it was basically flush pressing down on the spring. Disassembled it a wouldn't you know absolutely no leak at all! You sir are a hero!

    Brian, hindsight is always 20/20. Whoever did the plumbing didn't necessarily think things through, or else it was done at 2pm on a Friday, and this is the result. I wish you well as you get into repairing these issues.

    Went to the hardware store and saw different size stem valves. How do I know what size I need. I have a delta Kitchen Faucet. Should I just take it out and compare at store?

    I can never get that rubber seat to go down into the hole. It takes me sometimes an hour to get it to go in there.

    • @ThatFixItGuy
      @ThatFixItGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try guiding it with an Allen wrench works pretty well for me.

  • @SarahParry-ws8dn
    @SarahParry-ws8dn ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice video. But, yowser, it would have been nice to soak all those hard water, crusted parts in CLR solution to clean things up for a nice, tidy repair job. Also, it's good practice to put some silicone grease on the spring loaded rubber cap to provide a longer lasting seal. Considering how things were on the hot water side, it probably is only a matter of time before the rubber cap/spring on the cold water side fails too and starts leaking. Usually those cap/spring repair kits come in twos. Hope you do your friend the added favor of updating the cold side too.
