Keep up with these races! I’ve never seen a channel like yours before, and I love it because of the races between Teslas and the many experiments no one has done before you.
Yeah the Performance on standard mode is around 3.7s but it is also slightly heavier and has larger rear motors, could possibly edge out the Performance on standard mode with the acceleration boost when it comes out in NA.
Geez and 12.0 is pretty quick . Crazy gap The impressive part is running 10.9 on the street unprepped. My old rwd 11.0 mustang spun through the first 3 gears on the street lol.
What I liked about you is that you pay attention to the battery percentage when doing a race between Teslas. Many people don’t know that when the battery percentage drops, the car’s power decreases. But I’m impressed with the knowledge you have about Tesla cars.
sorry if you guys already know this, but I just saw a video by this guy with a 2024 M3P. His video shows evidence of the importance heat in the battery pack for the power output and therefore your quarter mile times, 0-60 times, etc. His find was that you're supposed to navigate to the nearest 250KW supercharger, but sit in park inside the car with your foot on the brake. Do not use track mode because it will cool the battery
@JVette01 I'm curious how this would affect the times of the Model 3 long range too. Would be interesting to compare your own times with and without battery preconditioning
Teslogic makes a device that will give you close to the old Model 3 Performance in a Long Range. They may be looking for someone to test it if you are interested? Just let me know.
I want to ask you, is there any difference between Insane Mode and Track Mode (Race Preset) in the 2024 Tesla Model 3 performance ? Is there a real difference between them or not?
No, track mode just cools the battery so you can do multiple laps on track. However, cooling the battery is not good for straight line speed so you’re better of using just insane mode if you’re racing
It’s in the 9-11 depends on soc like any other ev. High 8’s only if you do some minor mods but ev’s other than the plaid and lucid and rimac all have top ends but none of the other ev’s or ev’s in general don’t have good top end bc they don’t have gears for top end. Or high mph compared to gas cars. A c6 with the same power puts a better 60-130 bc of weight
I’m really excited to know the result between the Tesla Model 3 Performance 2024 and the Tesla Model S Long Range 2021 and above. Their 0-60 mph times are very close, so I’m eager to find out which one is stronger. What I really like about you is that you give each car its due credit when it comes to charging or battery percentage. I haven’t seen anyone on TH-cam make a video like this before, so I hope you’ll work on it. I’m a fan of your channel, and you definitely deserve a subscription and a like!
I'd love to set this up if I get the chance.. based off my research, they'll be pretty much dead even in the 1/4mi with the long range model s pulling up top. I think a roll would go to the model s, but they're limited to 130 so you can't go very fast.
@@JVette01 Now I am owning a plaid and have also driven the new M3P I can tell from my butt dyno. Putting model s plaid in sport mode (almost the same acceleration as the model s long range), the hit from stop M3P is much stronger. The roll would be interesting - I would say from lower speed rolls like 40mph M3P will still take the hit, but then once the speed passes 100 - 110 mph the model s will start pulling back. Also I believe only 2024 model s long range were limited to 130 top speed, earlier models were limited to 160 ish.
Awesome races! This is what I’ve been looking for. Glad you did these tests. I think the dual motor AWD is the best of both worlds. Out of Spec showed the range (70mph highway) is about 20 miles off the range of the RWD so you get great range and great performance. Thanks!
Seems like you suggesting there is a big difference between the two but in reality it's just a minor difference. I don't think this tiny performance boost justify the price difference between the performance and the long range especially if we consider that the performance's consumption is subpar compared to the long range which means less achievable range
What is the cost difference between the long range and performance? Does the cost difference justify the extra power?...because the long range is no slouch. Great videos...thanks.
It does if you're looking for performance. If I bought the car, I would go performance, but I leased and the performance is $250 more a month to lease. I figured the long range would suffice as my daily commuter car.
@@JVette01you’re good. You have best of both worlds, the lr and the m2. I have a performance new gen great quick daily. Low cost 20 bucks every 2 weeks. I like ice cars but you have to have a budget and for your needs. Everyone goes for different cars. Even tho I want a m240i but I already have a great daily. Most people don’t even need the performance. Car is just for point a to point b and most people could live with the standard range. More efficient and less expensive.
Just depends on your needs and your budget cost. I can tell you most people don’t need trucks when they don’t even use it for towing or hauling. But they want a truck to drive and sit at the driveway all day. Same thing with performance, you don’t need all that performance in the street. Anybody can live with 300hp. If you want to be fast just get a 5., corvette or bmw.
The performance model I’ve read has brakes that can’t handle any track work. They tend to overheat easily at high speeds….pedal goes soft. People are upgrading the brakes. Handling is wonderful and power is amazing. Nice car!
I suggest you organize a race between the old Tesla Model 3 Performance and the new Tesla Model 3 Performance. We want to know if there’s a significant difference between them or not. A lot of people are specifically curious about this race and want to know which one will come out on top. Is there a big difference or not? Thank you for your great efforts, and keep it up, Thanks for watching.
I have a 2018 M3 LR AWD with acceleration boost. It pulls noticeably harder than the 2024 M3 LR AWD. Despite almost never using the ability of this car, I'll still get acceleration boost when it comes out. Thank you for this video, always wondered about this - I chose the LR AWD because I didn't want a payment much over $500 and I wanted cheaper longer lasting tires (18) for a daily driver.
I think you made the sensible decision. Don't really think you try to drag race in your daily commute however range and cost are serious factors you must consider in these situations. Also Long Range Model 3 is still faster than 99% of cars on the road.
Great video! 1st Time ive seen LR vs P, about time. I think the performance has a different motor than the LR so it should be more than software. We'll see tho with a future Aboost at a 60 roll.
The top end, he was letting off, it wasnt like he stopped pulling. He doesnt like to stay in it as long as you or i would, but still enoigh to see what the end result would be
Well ur not even considering some of the most important things when buying a sports car. Looks, interior and sound. Plus the bmw offers far better handling and braking. Just overall better in every way when it comes to having a more special and fun to drive car.

I saw that. However, all of us didn’t pre condition the battery so we were all the same in that regard.
@JVette01 I'm curious how this would affect the times of the Model 3 long range too. Would be interesting to compare your own times with and without battery preconditioning
In the future I’ll look into it and make a video. I just don’t have any software to track the battery temp.

In the 10s on the 1/4 mile is pretty wild. Do you know what his 60-130 was?
should be low 9s
Does it even get to 130mph? Or limited at 125 or so...?

Not sure. Currently, it would be a base model y, but I’d say the original 2012 model s base model was probably a the slowest
@JVette01 thank you
Insane mode! Just need some fake engine noises to enhance the experience 😂
I actually like that it doesn’t have fake noise. The noises you hear are actual real noises.
I'm glad to see a big difference in the top ends for the refresh models. the older 3 performance and long range top ends were almost identical
