I'm not religous, but the power of the language in the lyrics of this song is such that it doesn't matter and I'm swept up in its color and fatalism. A great song if you're interested in empathy and storied histories by virtue of ageing. Nice rendition, too.
Fabulous job there honey I Love it!!!, Thank you so very much for sharing it with all of us right here on you tube, God Love ya your so very talented, Bless You ! xo
it's great I've heard Don do it kind of fast too. it's a natural tendency for us to get faster as the energy flows. I thought the vocal was really really good
Great version. So relaxed and comfortable, and lovely playing. And a huge help with me trying to sort out the best way of playing this classic. Thanks Allan.
You said it. This music is very relaxing. It is so nice to see someone who enjoys playing and singing so much. you are awesome on the guitar. can't wait to see you in Newfoundland again.
I don't want to catch any heat on here because believe me, I love Don Williams, but I think you do a better job than he did with this song. There's just something about your range that thrives on this song. You are so inspiring. Thanks for singing the good music.
Hi Allen, that is awesome!!! Great song, haven't heard that in a while. But that is the best I ever heard it done. Love the tone your pullin' out of that Southern Jumbo. When are you going to start touring again?
It is great ! But also he/any musician can change the tempo with a metronom/drum/artificial drums to go faster or slower. So the speed can be changed by arrangements. He did it correctly without help of any metronom.I can't see a metronom from here anyway. Also you look positive.
+Steve It is great. Just that some parts get too fast, some are normal pace. I also have that problem if I try to pick the strings as he does. The timing is manageable when you just strung chords. I am a beginner and I don't do this song yet. I do only "It only rains on me" and "you get to me". Easier. Just chords. Tried picking stings and it got crazy.
Just fantastic. Takes me back to when I was a young boy
One of my favorite s
