You guys NEEED to Rat Rod this Porche! Metal custom wide body, air bagged suspension, a nice power plant engine, people can pay a lot for a sick rare rat rod style car!! 👌💪☝️☝️
I feel like every single one of these that can be saved should be saved. Gutting it would be heresy in my eyes. I would even keep the rare seats in it and restore it back to original spec.
Restore it, don’t gut it. A note about the paint. I enjoy detailing cars as a hobby. You might be able to save the paint. It would be hard work but a two, or maybe even three stage wet sand followed by a polish might bring it back.
A slightly left field idea... Wrap it in a cognac colour. Somewhere about RGB 163, 72, 27. It will be unique, and help hide some of the other flaws. With the exhaust, install a Flowmaster.
I had an 83 and absolutely loved it. I bought it from a friend of mine, who is a mechanic. It was his wife's daily driver. I miss it. So much fun. My brother was driving it when the timing belt went. Never got a chance to fix it, when my friend who sold it to me's son came to me looking to buy it off of me. I had just gotten a Harley I was working on and was spending more time and money on that, so I said yes. Wish I hadn't! Fix it up!
Seeing those stone chips and that fuzzy green/brown paint, I don't think any amount of detailing could make that look as good as this car deserves to look.
Oh yeah! When you don’t have money, but want to show off to your friends and say that you bought a Porsche, this option comes to mind. Thank you for the video!
I sold my ‘87 944 just over a year ago and picked up a ‘17 Cayman. Although i kept it in great shape, it was becoming a weekend driver. Enjoyed it, but enjoying the Cayman as well.
Congrats on knowing the speedo function. Big gremlin = #2 rod bearing starves on hard corning. Hope it’s already fixed. No stoplight racer but handling is legendary.
Definitely restore ! My 87 Guards red 944 N/A is fully restored original paint (100 hours of my sweat) and another 150 hours of mechanical and interior work
This is the first video I've ever seen from this channel, and you already have my subscription. I just recently bought a Porsche 944 and am having fun learning how to work on it. Mine is also a 1983 and it is really cool to learn some of the unique features that mine has. This is my first real project car and I completely agree with the steep learning curve, but many others have had this car as their first project car and learned on it, so I believe that I can too. I can't wait to see where you guys go with this, and I'll also check my seats and see if I'm able to get the seats that your getting as well, (my seats, whichever one they are, are in nearly mint condition.) Also, I would like to see a daily derivable build, since that's what I'm going to make mine into for when I go to college in the fall.
Matte black would suit him perfect!!!! With a slight hint of Chrome, it should give him a perfect finish.... Just a suggestion ofcourse, do consider turning him like new and let him run to his natural end.
You can always break a trip counter if you play with it too much. If u use it normally, you can reset it while driving, no prob (I did it myself 1001 times) Anyways, it has no impact on the main counter. The thing with that is it goes around at 100.000, and u can never tell how many times it happened.
Don’t track it!! Will look so much better restored. Paint it, make it Porsche platinum (like a Champaign gold color), looks good with the brown interior.
Aaahhhhh you guys have GOT TO restore this classic beast! It will be a beautiful car with low miles and, hell, its a freaking PORSCHE! Lol.... Edit: And, please please please NO STRAIGHT PIPES!!
Don't refurb, don't track it, just fix all the mechanical issues, tune it and get a new shocks and brakes upgrade and you have a beautiful rat rod. It already looks perfect.
I vote to gut it and put in race seats. Once gutted it will be brown inside and in the engine bay. White or blue goes well with brown. I think white would look great on this car. A cheap paint job that includes the door sills and under the hood. Cap it off with the porsche logo stripe on the sides in brown.
Sorry I’m definitely with Christian on this one. Bring her back to her prime and enjoy it. She deserves it!
ye me2
Restore it sell it.
Refurbish, cherish and enjoy this well balanced driving machine.

100% agree! It needs to be back on the road!
I feel like every single one of these that can be saved should be saved. Gutting it would be heresy in my eyes. I would even keep the rare seats in it and restore it back to original spec.
Heresy?? Man now I feel bad if we gut it!
@@JRGarage YEAHG

This car needs love so refurbish it specially because of low mileage, I was about to type low Kms lol 😂 we use kilometers in Australia
Restore and repaint it to the original colour to make it seems brand new, it's gonna be a perfect and interesting project to see.. goodluck guys!
Restore and repaint, keep it to it's original build sheet, do not sell the seats, 30yr+ old car give it the respect it deserves for its longevity
I’d say refurbish it
frl
Refurbish. Why sell all those desirable items when you can restore it and have it be an amazing example of a first production year Porsche.
"This is a car you can build on a budget"
*Me sitting with my 944 turbo that still looks like shit 10k$ in* (in norway)
I’m stoked to see this video! I also have a 1983 manual 944 black that I’m working on. I can’t wait to see what you guys will do.
No refurbish it bro it’s a beautiful classis
Christian is right on this one. It would look nice and original with black paint.
Refurb! You’d be crazy to turn this timeless machine into a track tool!
This is my dream car. I’ve wanted 944 since 1990 when I first remember seeing them then I saw a turbo a few years later and fell in deeper love
I agree with Christian you should restore it. It’s going to be a fun project to watch
straight piping every car is a little played. Restore don't gut
I'm with Chris on this one, restore the car please!!
Restore it. Its a beautiful car and is built to enjoy and daily.
Fix it and DONT SELL THE SEATS, there perfect!
Yeah, it’s such a great car for a restoration project. I would keep the seats!!
I would keep it all stock (even the seats) and fix it, its history and it will be worth a ton of money!!
The answer is always RESTORE!!!
Restore it and paint to bllack on red or what ever u want
OEM color brown to match the interior
@@souheilk8332 yeap but color brown is to shityy for my option
I agree with Christian. You should definitely restore it.
I love the brown interior (the seats, dash, etc.). Gorgeous. I would refurbish it.
Same color interior as mine which is not that common. Rog
Restore it!!! We need more vehicle recyclers. Content may inspire
NO race car ! LISTEN Christian make it clean ! Midnight Purple will be so so so sexy on this car....
Fix that car up. Don’t strip it all apart. I’m with Christian on that one.
It would be cool if you would do a full detailing to make it look great again. A deep British Racing Green paint would look amazing😍
your guys' videos were a large factor in me not going insane during this new york quarantine. thank you boys!
When you're so early, the comment section is filled up with idiots thinking they're first.
Edit: restore the car. Dont make it a racecar
Restore it, don’t gut it. A note about the paint. I enjoy detailing cars as a hobby. You might be able to save the paint. It would be hard work but a two, or maybe even three stage wet sand followed by a polish might bring it back.
RESTORE to original spec, including paint. Keep in BROWN.
Fully agreed
YES
Brown!? It’s no the 80s anymore tho
@@JRGarage whatt? it would be so unique brown man RESTORE

Christian's absolutely right! Restore it please!!
I restore it personally, but I’m not a huge fan of that kind of racing.

They are really great well build cars. Im still impressed how smooth and perfect my 89 Porsche 944 S2 runs. It has over 200.000 km right now.
I love this car. rebuild it and straight pipe🔥🔥🔥
Fix it up and give away! Make someone’s day

Make a detailing tutorial !! That would be dope to learn how to bring life back into a car
Exactly 😂
I know that. Considering you can buy a cool 986 Boxster for 10K right now. Tempting indeed!
You can’t beat the price. Even if it doesn’t start. That’s a massive steal.
I sold my ‘87 944 just over a year ago and picked up a ‘17 Cayman. Although i kept it in great shape, it was becoming a weekend driver. Enjoyed it, but enjoying the Cayman as well.
You guys should change your channel's name from jr garage to straight pipe garage 😂🖤🖤
Definitely restore it! It can still be a fun car on the track, just be careful.
I love when people refurbished and use old cars as daily drivers, looks like a glimpse into the past
Congrats on knowing the speedo function. Big gremlin = #2 rod bearing starves on hard corning. Hope it’s already fixed. No stoplight racer but handling is legendary.

RESTORE THIS BEAUTY!!!
Restore the poor Porsche, it doesn’t deserve to be sold as parts. Please!
Just restore it dont make it a race car thats a shame
You should try out the $500 MAACO special and see if it is actually a good paint
Restore it to as close as original, its a piece of great automotive history!!
Too many of these have died. Restore this one.
JR go: buys a 500$ Porsche 944

Miami Blue and brown interior !!!
Everytime I see one it makes me realize i want one
Love this car, you should rebuild it. I think the car would look good if its a glittery dark blue.
Matte black would suit him perfect!!!! With a slight hint of Chrome, it should give him a perfect finish.... Just a suggestion ofcourse, do consider turning him like new and let him run to his natural end.
I think it should be restored. The 944 is the easiest and most fun Porsche to drive. I drove one back in 1987. It was the best thing.
bro if it has the flip headlights ur the king on the road
Refurb it, then make it a daily driver, please❤️🍿
I really like porsches!
Definitely with Christian. This should be on the road.

Restore her. She's beautiful!
If you are really a car lover, you should restore it to the original as possible, even with the brown color!
Complete restore & paint job.
I like how JrGo and JrGarage both own an 80s Porsche. Makes it more confusing lmao
definitely restore it, I'd say that you then keep it for a long time, then you'll be rich in the future
"Limp mode" you can tell they dont get old cars
Retromod - Make it lightweight but keep full interior and throw some boost at it
Olive drab plastidip, with the P51 mustang shark paint on the front fender
Like if Jr Garage should upload more often
Restore it! It’s an amazing car
This is so funny since I want a Porsche 944 as a project car lol.
Don’t track it!! Will look so much better restored. Paint it, make it Porsche platinum (like a Champaign gold color), looks good with the brown interior.
Restore. Repaint to the original color. IF anything is done with the exhaust, try a header and free flow system. Increases HP a bit and sound a lot.
