When I was younger I would never have been able to afford a 944. You need to bear in mind that when I hifinally hired one for a long weekend here in the UK it was a current Porsche model. I live near London and went to Wales for the weekend. What a wonderful time my wife and I had. Coming back down the motorway I was in convoy with two other sports cars. We did not know each other but had a great time safely getting through the traffic. A kind of mutual admiration. In my den there is a picture of a much younger version of me standing by the car outside my home. Great memories and a great car. Compliments of the season gentleman.
So cool! Great car with a solid history. Demand is good. Get it tuned, flush the tank and get a new filter, and I bet you have a winner on your hands! Would love to have it myself, but know you’ll find a deserving owner!!
I used to drive a Porsche 944 to Purcellville, VA twice a week in the 1980s. I would drive my friend, Liza, to a private school on Mondays and drive her back home on Fridays. The 944 is a joy to drive. In the 1980s, it was such a chick magnet.
That thing is pretty nice guys! Should bring it by don't think I can do the oil change on that one but we can wash it lol. That's a good deal at $1000!!
Side note that rocket was in fact out of Vandenburg, I saw it from my apartment in Camp Verde, I had a great view of it from the time it came up over the mountains until it was out of site.
Keeping in mind other “sport cars” from later years from different manufacturers the price isn’t too bad, you can still find a very nice example for about 7-10k and depending on mileage I would bounce on it, I’m currently looking into the 944s and hoping to find one and get one within a year
944 have amazing legroom even with seat. At 6-1 one my very best day, I kept seat two or three notches from front due to clutch and I was taught to depress clutch 100% before touching gear selector...
I had a 1985.5 or 1986.5, first year of the new interior. Car got 27 mpg with 127k miles...wasnt fast off the line but winding mountain roads were its turf...
Pretty cool old 944, it does have some classic lines. But wait, isn’t that an early Fiat Spyder behind all the science stuff? Those were absolutely beautiful little boxes of fun! Well, when they run well they are…. Great content, I’ll happily keep watching.😁
944 was a great body style.. the Turbos are now 25 grand and higher now.. How come the first thing you do on these cars isnt draining the gas tank and putting fresh gas in?? Saves injectors (and carbs) and fuel pumps from gumming up with junk. Just curious is all.
My 944 always idles higher when warmed up. Guessing it’s because the engine on these expands so much so it pulls the belts tighter. Maybe a stretch to say that but that’s all I can think of
I had a nearly identical one for 5+ years and drove it over 100K. It was a silver '84, no sunroof, sport seats, and staggered fuchs. I had to sell when moving out to Phoenix last year. I miss driving it. Where would you put this up for sale?
Still has a misfire engine skip… maybe drain the gas tank and do a tuneup and see what’s up. Try a compression test on the cylinders. Might be something simple and sell for more $$ because of the mileage :D
I'm wondering why you guys don't drain or siphon the gas out off these old cars and put new gas in them? Like just 5 gallons? And don't they have additives that you can use on the remaining old gas? Then new gas... just curious!?
Father / Son project, let me buy it with my 18 year old son. He’s at UCLA studying math. This would be perfect. I’ll take it as is without the seats. It would be at Willow Springs before you know it.
You can tell the car is true mileage by looking at all the zinc plating the condition it's in in the brake assemblies the nuts and bolts brackets 67,000 mi, all of that should still look like new after a good under the engine wash and suspension components axle shafts stuff like that. It's amazing how many 944s sell very cheap and people have no clue about the seats certain parts that are worth more then the car including the wheels sometimes. Are these cars end up being owned by people who don't want to use good gas, cheap gas will eat up and deteriorate and cause you problems with injectors or fuel filters and fuel pumps. Stick to quality gas get 91 and 93 octane use fuel additives from Lucas Drive off to Indy's cars are known for not running properly if they sit way too long you have to drive these cars
My birthday just passed jus turned 17 if y’all are feeling like you have to many cars I wouldn’t mind hanging to any of your Porsche’s 😂 specially this one
Are you guys located in Phoenix or Tucson? It looks like the Catalinas in the background. I am in Tucson and have an 86.5 928S. Maybe one day I could drop by and see your collection.
Why? Germany was still divided back then and Porsche is Stuttgart-based. So always been "in the west. West Germany only refers to "Germany not including East Germany". They would refer to themselves as GDR "German democratic republic" anyways.
I feel like an loon for saying this but here in the UK I'm sure the 944 was a wide body V8 and the 924 was a cheaper 4 cylinder made with VW parts? Isn't that 924?
Put the seats back in the car and sell the whole cars don't park the car out it'd be ashamed to do that it's a nice car you can at least get $4,500 for the car there's only common sense that way cuz people still love those don't party out
I’d call it sacrilege! Probably enough money to be made from the YT clicks. Also it would have been sensible to get it running and test it with the seats still in if you guys insist on removing them🤦♂️
If you try to flip that thing, I hope no one buys it because you took the original seats out and replaced them with some crappy ones. 😂😅😂😅😂😅 I just looked at the date on this video and it's over a year old. Do you still have this car or did you manage to sell it?

Back to where it all started
Aaaand LS swap! Hahaha

Best video of the series! Great deductive reasoning to solution the problem.
Early 944s dont prime on 2, as a safety mechanism Porsche had the pump prime while cranking which is why you don't hear a wine on 2
944 are waaayyyy under-rated! I'd take one over a 911 as something cool from the 80s which you can drive everyday and work on it yourself 😀
A guy had 944 set up for the track/street ran at the old Bridgehampton circuit.
911s for lunch - excellent driver
That thing is pretty nice guys! Should bring it by don't think I can do the oil change on that one but we can wash it lol. That's a good deal at $1000!!
i freakin love this video. love you how guys have learned so much about car issues and the sleuthing repair mindset. kudos.
Side note that rocket was in fact out of Vandenburg, I saw it from my apartment in Camp Verde, I had a great view of it from the time it came up over the mountains until it was out of site.
We have a 944 Turbo. K & N Cold Air Intake, NGK Iridium plugs, and a good tune. It runs like top.
I feel like an idiot for not buying these before they blew up on BAT. So many low mile 944, 944 S2s, sold for very cheap just a few years ago.
Keeping in mind other “sport cars” from later years from different manufacturers the price isn’t too bad, you can still find a very nice example for about 7-10k and depending on mileage I would bounce on it, I’m currently looking into the 944s and hoping to find one and get one within a year
As a german i cant believe how cheap you can get this cars in the us..

How much are you asking for silver 944 Porsche that you got running due to a relay wiring up.

Good work! Your videos are very informative and great POV. I just added myself on your IG contest. Keep up the good work.
Cheers!
Testimony of the Porsche quality build
Tin arse, fabulous job guys, this would be worth fixing up and maybe either sell or donate.
Have a safe enjoyable Xmas period.
Kaipara, New Zealand.
"ruanching a lockit"lol
14:10 misfiring ? what about old gasoline ?
My 944 always idles higher when warmed up. Guessing it’s because the engine on these expands so much so it pulls the belts tighter. Maybe a stretch to say that but that’s all I can think of
What a nice Christmas gift this is going to make for someone 🤩
At the moment I'm replacing the lower control arms on it and than the timing belt.
Aftermarket stereo is a bonus.
If you are concerned, put a 24mm on the crank pulley and turn the engine over by hand !!!!😀😀😀😀😀🚘🚘🚘🚘🍺🍺🍺
PLEASE fix it. We love the 944

Another banger 😍👏🏼 #savethe944s
I hope you found out where Vandenberg is 😉 … near LA, right at the coast. SpaceX is launching their Falcon nines there more than monthly 👍!
I was actually bidding on this car a year ago. I guess I know who won the bid. I was really wanting to get it.
The Rocket 🚀 is a high Altitude Geo-Engineering (chemtrail) sprayer !
The Rocket launch was a High Altitude Geo- Engineering Rocket 🚀
16:37 you're sitting way too far back
Really cool!
Sounds like a lawn mower. I had a red 944 Turbo poster on my wall.
Nice save.
Thanks!
Merry Christmas thank you for the great vids keep them coming
Thanks, you too!
I would love to own one of those cars that I could daily and fix up myself! Please keep me in mind! 😉
I love the Porsche 944!!
At so many points during this video I wanted to scream "SPRAY STARTING FLUID INTO INTAKE!!!"
🎅 That would make a great after Christmas gift for someone. 🎄🎁🦌❄️
I love this car.
Wow 🤩 sweet little classic
Amazing ! Always liked the 944s ..
“We have too many cars. How about “12 days of “Free Cars” 🤔
Been looking at 944s to buy recently
love me some lockett raunches.
Still has a misfire engine skip… maybe drain the gas tank and do a tuneup and see what’s up. Try a compression test on the cylinders. Might be something simple and sell for more $$ because of the mileage :D
Bet the fuel replaced would be far better.
I'm wondering why you guys don't drain or siphon the gas out off these old cars and put new gas in them? Like just 5 gallons? And don't they have additives that you can use on the remaining old gas? Then new gas... just curious!?

is the ID.4 headlight broken?

I would love to see another video with V10 audi since it has been forever since last video
(Pls don't sell it since it's kinda where it all started)
My birthday just passed jus turned 17 if y’all are feeling like you have to many cars I wouldn’t mind hanging to any of your Porsche’s 😂 specially this one
love the series

Can you guys try getting a BMW E46 330I
That guys smart.
Are you guys located in Phoenix or Tucson? It looks like the Catalinas in the background. I am in Tucson and have an 86.5 928S. Maybe one day I could drop by and see your collection.
One of my fav cars.
A classic. Made in “west Germany”, which I find historically interesting.
Why? Germany was still divided back then and Porsche is Stuttgart-based. So always been "in the west. West Germany only refers to "Germany not including East Germany". They would refer to themselves as GDR "German democratic republic" anyways.
Save the old girl!
Dude how much for a 6+ cfm vacuum pump?
How much for the 2 front and back seats
I like a lot of the things you do. I Do NOT enjoy watching your guy the seats out of every Porsche jus to be "negative" in it. So annoying
Hi my name is Tom I live in Scottsdale AZ I would love to buy the 944 from you
Can this be the next giveaway car?
I feel like an loon for saying this but here in the UK I'm sure the 944 was a wide body V8 and the 924 was a cheaper 4 cylinder made with VW parts? Isn't that 924?
Put the chevy LS swap in it.
The reason they are so cheep to buy is that the parts they need are wicked expensive and they cars are not worth the trouble
The best steak in decades
Damn I miss my 944 😢
I’ll happily take the 944 off you guys 😂
Fun video but SLOW DOWN with camera movements. Too jerky! Thanks.
so sad this series is almost over :(
We still have 20 cars to reveal, should we keep it going?
Yesss
@@JRGarage yesss!!
Can I buy this 944?
The one 🇩🇿💪✌
I'll take it!
Serious! I'll put milk crates in for seats!
Next giveaway car
1000 bucks for a 944??? Bull$hit!!!! 😂😂😂
Put the seats back in the car and sell the whole cars don't park the car out it'd be ashamed to do that it's a nice car you can at least get $4,500 for the car there's only common sense that way cuz people still love those don't party out
LS Swap it

Get in contact ?
You have to manny 944s like alot
If you try to flip that thing, I hope no one buys it because you took the original seats out and replaced them with some crappy ones. 😂😅😂😅😂😅
I just looked at the date on this video and it's over a year old. Do you still have this car or did you manage to sell it?
Statistically improbable. Every Porsche you buy is a cheap fix.
I can't believe that I got it
Car sell better with seats
only in America.
Throw in a milk crate I’d drive it
It is an Audi in Porsche clothes
No it is not !!!!
