  • Today we look at hundreds of flooded supercars and sports cars selling for cheap at Copart salvage auction. These cars were all totaled after Hurricane Ida. Cheap Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Porsches, Aston Martins, Maseratis, Muscle cars, Range Rovers, etc. We already won a couple of these cars at auction and the reveals will be coming soon! We travel to 5 different yards across New York and New Jersey. Some of them started up and ran perfectly fine whereas some had some serious problems needing to be addressed.

So you are basically looking for a salvage flood car without any engine or interior and other damage. You should check out a dealer near you, because a new car is what you are looking for.

Be careful starting flood cars as you really should pull the spark plugs out before you crank the engine. Even if water gets inside you can pull the spark plugs out and get the water out and drain the oil most of the time you can save the engine. If you try to start them with the water in the engine you run the risk of bending a rod.

Once the water gets into control modules and wiring it is game over. I worked for Mercedes as a tech, I've seen flood cars and repairing them is very expensive and NOT WORTH IT. This is the reason why they are totaled by the insurance. However, buying a car like this for parts or heavy modifications, then I can certainly see the point.

Pull that red lever back and connect the positive clamp from your jump box. Then connect the negative to door hinge. Hit the frunk button and your good to go.

I just came across your posting/video reviews for the first time and I gotta say as an old guy I'm so dam impressed by your knowledge of cars... not to mention your enthusiasm about cars period! As a kid I grew up in Michigan with a dad that not only worked at a GM factory but also had a small auto repair business that did work on all cars but specialized in Corvairs after GM discontinued making them in 1969. Pops was known as the Corvair guy in the small town I grew up in. Fast forward to my early 20's, I moved to Los Angeles in the early 80's to further my career in shopping center development, design, and construction. After living most of my adult life in LA and more specifically the last 10 - years, I have found that there are not many "young guys" that are into cars or car culture. Back in the 80's the Asian imports were really popular here especially given all the 80's movies that featured them. No one can forget LA car culture back in the 50's & 60's. However, with the advent of electric cars over the last 10 - 20 years, car culture amongst young guys seems to have almost disappeared here. I have many friends and neighbors with driving age young sons that have absolutely no interest in even getting a driver's license let alone getting their first car as a "fixer upper" to work on in their parent's garage after school/work each day. The San Fernando Valley and South Bay were hubs of car culture "back in the day". At 14 years old I found my first car in a farmer's front yard siting on four flat tires with a blown engine for $25 bucks. I got one of my buddies that had their driver's license to help my tow the 1964 Corvair back to my dad's auto repair shop where Pops taught me how to rebuild the motor and any other components that needed help. He then repainted the Corvair in its original Burgandy color. Fortunately, the interior just needed a good scrubbing. I redyed the faded carpet and the ole Corvair looked almost brand new! That is until I let a girlfriend try driving it which resulted in her hitting an adjacent parked 64" Mustang owned by a fellow student! My insurance paid to fix both cars however, Pops made me do all the work except the spray painting and pocketed the insurance money. Of course, that was to teach me a lesson about who you let drive your car! So, either I got way too old or living at the beach has insulated me from whatever car culture remains in Southern California. With that background I have to say it brings a smile when I see young guys that appear to "breath & eat" cars and know them so well as you do! Thank you for the enjoyable videos! Good luck on your future auction finds!

I use the door catch for a good ground and then you can either pop the hood now (for battery access) or try starting!

With a Porsche, the way to pop the bonnet with a flat battery is by opening the fuse compartment in the cabin, pop the red lever (from memory you push it and it pops out) it hen connect a spare battery or power source to the terminal inside the red lever and the negative to the door stop strap in the door jamb.
Now use the electric hood release.
DO NOT try to start the car from this terminal.

Hey guys I really enjoy your Videos and you both are very knowledgeable about the high end cars. I am old school 75 LOL. In the future when you walk up on a car like the 70 Chevelle the hood has a pull lever under front bumper the hood lip will pop up then put finger in and push side ways and hood will open. ;)

My trick for getting hoods or truck to open when batters are dead. Take your booster and hook to the hot wire that runs to the fuse box. If u can't get to it use two nails in a fuse spot. Second you can hook to the red wire on the starter. And ground on the frame

Guys, don’t worry about mould (unless it’s caused physical Damage). All you need is TEA TREE OIL BAR SOAP. Or just liquid tea tree oil soap. Shave soap into 2L of very hot water. Dissolve thoroughly. Pour into empty cleaned 2L Soda plastic bottle, fill to 1/4 only, Shake like crazy until foams up. Shop vac all excess water first. squeeze foam onto carpets and seats. Sponge thick foam everywhere and let soak for 24 hours. Shop vac as much as possible. Reapply everywhere again and soak 24 hrs. Shop vac and use a Bissel steam cleaner or just hot water without soap to rinse any excess ….and vacuum dry as possible and crack all windows and use a small, safe, space heater and a fan to circulate air inside cabin.
Pull up carpets if necessary. And check underneath.
I’ve had a literal carpet of green and stank, coating entire seats, treated as above and it never returned
