Thanks for the review, I was looking for this bottle based on my good experience with Tamdhu 15. Yet prices in the California is skyrocketing right now, Tamdhu 15 is 130$, Glengoyne 18 is like 200$ at TW and I don’t expect this to be less than 200$, add 10% tax too. At this point it absolutely makes more sense to get any bottle over 100$ from UK than here with this situation.
Good call on the elegant character. I find this with the 15 and even the cask strength versions I've tried recently (Batches 5 and 6 -- 5 being my preferred of the two).
I've had batch strength batch 1 and it was good. I have the current 15 yr and it's a bit underwhelming. Not bad, but not great. I will probably not seek out the new 18 yr. The older bottles you mention, I see them on auction, but can be pricey like you said. Great review.
This is simply one of the best whiskies I've ever had, and I've had some great rare old sherry bombs. This whisky is taken very seriously in all its reviews, because those who know their stuff, and seek quality, will be the ones who get their hands on such a bottle like his to then review
I got 4. Tamdhu won't produce this long. Hopefully they have a 21 coming down the road. Would love to see them explore some different sherry casks too. explore line
My local Total Wine just got this for $200 USD before tax so it’s on my wish list. It is labeled as spirits direct so there’s a chance I could get 10% off on it. it’s $180 before tax. In this day and age for an 18 year old scotch, I guess that’s good but still kind of pricey.
I will take that over Macallan any day of the week
I hear ya!

Ya especially with the dollar being strong right now
Is it that much better than the 15? How does it compare to the old Billy Walker Glendronach 18?

Ya this one def takes a big step up with the refinement
Just got my bottle of the 18 year old today , here in Ireland i payed 162 euro , but they go as high as 190 euro.
Great quality stuff 👏
Nice!!
Good review. I've been eyeing this but the 15 while good didn't send me looking to replace it.
This is def a step up from the 15 in my opinion. Much more refined/elegant
Dustin, I totally agree with you on the 15 yr. The older single cask, cask strength look enticing, but they can get expensive at auction.

I will say this is a big step up for me compared to 15 and batch strength. Thanks bud

Waiting on a single cask tamdhu to try, looking fwd to it after this
Very nice!!
Wonder how much better the cask strength version is 😍
Im sure its excellent
Great work, Narbe! Thank you.
Cheers
This 210 US dollars where I live (Ontario, Canada). Too pricey.

Will this go up in value
Hmmmmmmm…I might have to buy a bottle of whisky for the first time in a few years. Thanks Narbe.
This is a good one. Not epic but worth owning
Great review!
Thanks VV!
“Tamdhu” the name itself just doesn’t sound appetizing to me. Sounds like I need to get over that and try it out.
For sure!
