Funnily enough, I just went through my (very) large tub of Lego and after about a thousand years of rummaging through it, I managed to make this Ashens set. Yay! I'm surprised I even had the same face for the figurine. The jacket, legs and hair was very easy to find as one of my Lego figures that resides on my Lego street (composed of 4 houses, fire department, police department, 10 cars and two planes) had exactly the same outfit.
"Don't know why they say "LEGOs" instead of "LEGO", maybe that's where the 's' on the end of "maths" went..." As a Brit (and a LEGO fan), I find this theory to be the most likely cause.
Yes. Yes! We've stolen the "s" from "Maths" and tacked it on to the back of "Lego!" Bwaa haaaa haaa haaa haaaaaaa! Seriously though, it's just a cultural thing. We just think of Lego bricks as a whole bunch of bricks. British folk say they "Hoover" carpets. We "vacuum" them. Hoover is a company that builds vacuum cleaners. And I guess the "Math" thing is because we think of it as a process for quantifying things, as opposed to a set of processes... I guess. Not real sure about that one. I've started thinking that perhaps the "s" was stolen from "Math" by a Mr. Ashen and tacked onto the end of his surname. CONSPIRACY!?
Nat Grant+ Thats gonna have to change soon as everyone uses Dysons or cyclone jet vacuums now. But do not forget As Brits you western ponders say Coke for all colas, you say Scotch tape , we say Cellotape for sticky back plastic strip. You call all plasters band aids, zambonis, jacuzzi, bubble wrap, Kleenex, sharpies, xerox ( heck that is an accepted verb now )saleable keep fresh plastic tubs are all called Tupperware That is not cultural it shows how invasive marketing and Advertising is, and how eponymous some brands has become that that brand name becomes the generic term for all items of that type Also that is a different debate . This is pretty much an old world- new world- spelling and pronunciation nazi debate. Flame On !!! ( since Die Antwoord that has a whole new meaning for me that phrase.)
When I was little, I wanted a "Designed By Me" set. Sadly, it was too expensive, and the brick selection was limited. Plus, it doesn't help that the service has since been discontinued for 3 years...
Don't entirely know why we don't get the musical fast forward. Those are kind of nicer than jump cuts especially when there are several jump cuts in one video.
johhony roberts Yes, I actually do understand business. Nowhere in my post did I indicate any kind of confusion as to why it was closed. So hold the condescension for someone who's not in a college business course.
***** Don't think I ever said I was special. I'm not the only one in the course, and it's not the only course in the world, so no I'm hardly a 'special snowflake'. As for the rest of your post; it's so immature and irrelevant that I really see no point in responding to it.
In case it hasn't been mentioned before (though it probably has), the word "Lego" itself is a contraction of the words "Leg godt", or "play well" in Danish. That might help with the naming conventions.
K4RN4GE911 One does not "get glad" you cad, that's a tad bad grammar and, I should add, many people on this site, bad grammar do they forbad, and might call out your fad. I personally think it's rad. Now the ad has finished playing so I'll go watch this video about ligo brax.
One brick is a Lego. A Lego (brand name) set is made with Legos (plural) or Lego bricks. It's a colloquialism, like how Biro is a common term for a pen in the UK, but is actually a brand name. Hoover and Frigidaire have the same problem.
That is such an epic idea......my friend is lego mad! This will make the perfect birthday gift for him ;-) Absolutely awesome, and until today I never knew about it. Thanks bro :-)
well, they don't have a monopoly on brick construction sets aren't they? and Lego is the brand they own obviously they don't want you to call every other cheap Chinese knockoff "Lego"
I've often wondered what sort of quality the packaging and manual would be for those DIY Lego sets, but no more. Also, why is every single video in the suggestions column (apart from 4 other ashens videos) variations of "how to make a lego sofa"?
Somebody has probably already mentioned it, but the 'digital designer' software snaps the minifig torso in two positions, with a small gap above the legs, and then properly connected. You just need to click the torso and pull it down slightly. tl;dr Back picture is accurate.
gosh I hope their site is still up! I would hate to see that their only innovation has gone away! that would make me hack them! I have yet to look so they had better make sure it's still up before I look! :D
It's impressive how this set is enough to make me get how Ashen set up his and shoot his reviews. The set is still missing the Priceless Burner as a part of the accessories though..
Under the sofa "arms" you should have put two of those diagonal lego pieces. Just a tip....of course considering it's LEGO those two pieces would probably add $50 to your total.
Most words in the English language have an "s" added at the end when plural. Even though "Lego" is a trademark company, it can also be used a common noun
So the bidder got this thing for only 1030$? I believe that is quite a lot cheaper than what Lego charges for this service! What a lucky person!
@@danman1012 r/woosh
LMAO! 'Perhaps that is where the S from the end of Maths went...' So good ,Ashens! :)
Yeah got me too
"Perhaps that's where the "s" on the end of Maths went"
My favorite Ashens quote. Ever.
Some of the Chef Excellence ones are good as well.
Aw, he needs a little butane torch for burning blind bag stuff.
And Small ashes Lego rip off legoception

Chase It's just a shortened way of saying lego bricks.
Ah, I remember those days before they took down Lego DesignByMe
+Alex Koopa I loved DesignByMe! It showed off how creative Lego fans could be. I miss it :(
Aw. I was just going to ask where I could find it.
Ah yes i remember when i made a pen*s and they rejected it why was it too "Big" for the image?
GODDAMIT
Ikr ;__;
Cool - Something that no longer exists with an *_advert_* for something that no longer exists! Yay!
RIP Lego universe. you are missed.
So this is the porn director set?
Damn it, I was just about to post this.
wait what
Shutup and take my money!!!!!
Kit N°06969 - Casting Couch.
I watched a porn video that had a set that looked exactly like this
The "s in maths" joke had me literally wheezing.
When I was little, I wanted a "Designed By Me" set. Sadly, it was too expensive, and the brick selection was limited. Plus, it doesn't help that the service has since been discontinued for 3 years...
I was going to look to try and get this but then i realised it was 5 years ago
Rufus Derpington Same

Same
Rufus Derpington Came
bigphil2695 Came again
I made my own version of this cuz am poor and I also gave Lego Ashens a mini blowtorch and some 1x1 tiles pretending to be the burned blind bags
Nice work Ashens! :D
Always nice to see people doing things for chartity :)
An excellent lego set.
Jesus Christ 11 years ago, yet I remember it uploading. God I'm getting old!
LEGO Ashens looks like The Master.
you are such a talented lego brickbuilder :D
i admire the details and dedication of this work.
Ashens lego set : casting couch set
Alternative Title: "Ashens builds a casting couch."
"He laid her down on the brown sofa. Various bits of abandoned tat dug into her back..."
Don't entirely know why we don't get the musical fast forward. Those are kind of nicer than jump cuts especially when there are several jump cuts in one video.
Because jump cuts are easier and Ashen is a lazy and horrible man who hates you.
Floydthefuckbag Well that answers that then.
More than ever do I wish I had 500 bucks to sink into this set. Best of luck to whoever wins.
looks almost like a lego casting couch set to the uninitiated.
BOOM CHICCA WOW WOW. all it needs is the terrified and lied to girl.
Sadly, though not surprisingly, this service is longer around. Ashens is, though. Hurray!
So what are you gonna do for your 100th video?
£180 with 6 days of bidding left. You're a good man, Ashens.
Someone needs to make a petition to bring lego design by me back
That is the most EPIC THING EVER! Good idea for the charity auction..
Not anymore. Design by Me has been closed since Ashy did this video.

I think that might be the most intelligent and friendly response this comment's gotten.
In case it hasn't been mentioned before (though it probably has), the word "Lego" itself is a contraction of the words "Leg godt", or "play well" in Danish. That might help with the naming conventions.
@Cimlite Rofl same when i read your comment. Wheres he gonna put that video tape D:?
its too big for the camera >_
Wow this comment was a decade afo
You are a legend! Its annoying when people say 'legos' thank you very much for pointing that out!
Wish I could get that set.
Its very sweet that you did this for charity, made me smile.
Though sad that I cannot own my own mini Ashens... *sighs*
I just say Lego pieces or Lego bricks. There you go! Now everyone's happy.
I'm not happy.
Floydthefuckbag Oh, don't be sad. Don't feel bad or mad. Get glad. Like my best friend Chad.

K4RN4GE911 I was more reading it in prose when I wrote it. :3
Love the music when u build it haha! Cool set, ashens!
I see a plural war. Better take cover!
God almighty...
Ah man, not only did I miss that Athens box but I missed this
The box has a sad onion!
The best way to do Lego is to buy bits and bobs from yard sales and thrift stores. The torch flame piece makes a wonderful "head blown off"
nice casting couch lego set
I can't take my eyes off the airplane!!! it's so beautiful!
Hmmm... needs a Chef Excellence minifigure
i think this set will be 4 people with most advanced entertaining imagination ever.. ooh yess !
I refer to the plural of lego as legi to piss people off
Oh my I remember my childhood when my pop used to buy me Lego. XD
Legos is short for Lego Bricks.
We don't say "I stepped on a Legos" when referring to one single brick.
Stuart, The thought balloon is chef excellence trying to think of an idea that is not related to bags, That is why it is blank :3
This is obviously a cover up to conceal that he is just a camera with hands.
CHARITY AUCTION EXCITEMENT just about gave me a heart attack.
Ok so you should of made a smaller lego set that fits on the couch to make it infinite lego sets
when you put the model on the sofa, its like one of those images where it continues
like when you see a TV on TV

I like the building theme you use for this and the knock off legos in your 4th Poundland Special.
Casting couch anybody?
That is such an epic idea......my friend is lego mad! This will make the perfect birthday gift for him ;-)
Absolutely awesome, and until today I never knew about it.
Thanks bro :-)
Disapointment intensifies
I am American and I say Lego (Sometimes Legos). But mostly Lego.
.leggo my eggo
I am old old school I call it PLAY WELL ;-)
0:33 I love that noise
For the current day version just remove the hair piece ;)
An excellent Lego set
We say legos because there's more than one.
But LEGO is a brand name. The plural of LEGO is LEGO.
Yes, but lego is also what the individual bricks are called, thus making it legos.
At least, that's the way it is here.
DoktorKebab "LEGO bricks" is the correct plural when you're talking about the bricks themselves.
Lego plural is meant to be lego
Lego is the name of the entire thing, the brand. It's not just the name of the brick. Lego themselves have stated the plural of Lego is Lego.
10 years later and I wonder who won the second model?
*arbitrarily arrogant and angry comment that's unrelated to the video*
Thats so cool! I would buy that set if I had the money and a way to pay for it!
Rest in pepperoni designed by me
This is awesome. The only thing it's missing is Quincy the Caterpillar who sings obscure Beatles songs.
legos is so wrong.
Lego themselves have claimed that it only can be lego bricks.
well, they don't have a monopoly on brick construction sets aren't they? and Lego is the brand they own obviously they don't want you to call every other cheap Chinese knockoff "Lego"
That too.
But Ive heard so many people say "Legos" instead of "Lego Bricks"
@LucarFox
I think it comes from a danish phrase and stands for something like ''good to play''.
Can you imagine how much this set is worth now?
I've often wondered what sort of quality the packaging and manual would be for those DIY Lego sets, but no more.
Also, why is every single video in the suggestions column (apart from 4 other ashens videos) variations of "how to make a lego sofa"?
very good thing you are doing ashens.
Lego universe... Such memorys
For the free month included then you realised that you have to pay to play (side note: :( )
I had gotten the stuff to play longer i remember. It was so fun even though i never even upgraded my faction level
@Garrickss Haha. Awesome. So what charity did it go to?
Woah! £650 for charity is amazing Stuart! :O
It's awesome that you're doing this for charity, I wish I could bid but I don't have the available cash at the moment. :(
Cheers for the people who donated, 👍
This was fantastic xD And I get an advert for leather sofas on the side :P
Somebody has probably already mentioned it, but the 'digital designer' software snaps the minifig torso in two positions, with a small gap above the legs, and then properly connected. You just need to click the torso and pull it down slightly.
tl;dr
Back picture is accurate.
Best Toy Ever! Thanks for such a great laugh. The real, improv stuff is the funniest.
Seems you could easily make this exact thing from any amount of old legos you got lying around.
Is the figure stock too ?
Did the second box have the thought bubble in the right place?
You've got us on the Lego thing, but saying maths still doesn't make any sense. Excellent video as always!
love how there is a sofa ad next to your brown sofa
Oh Ashens, so humble, you can tell us your purple lego carpet has been stained red with the blood of your enemies. We'll understand.
In England it's called Maths, because we like adding unnecessary letters to things. Especially the letter U. And changing letters to you. Like "Mum".
I wonder if you can share your designs so they can send you some of someone else's? sounds like a cool customisation service!
gosh I hope their site is still up! I would hate to see that their only innovation has gone away! that would make me hack them! I have yet to look so they had better make sure it's still up before I look! :D
I think that's a good idea, making your own lego stuff on the webiste! i did not know this, thank youu!!
I want to see a poundland version of this
It's impressive how this set is enough to make me get how Ashen set up his and shoot his reviews.
The set is still missing the Priceless Burner as a part of the accessories though..
Under the sofa "arms" you should have put two of those diagonal lego pieces. Just a tip....of course considering it's LEGO those two pieces would probably add $50 to your total.
Ah so this must be the pilot for Nerdcubed's Lego series!
I love the building speed up music
Most words in the English language have an "s" added at the end when plural. Even though "Lego" is a trademark company, it can also be used a common noun
Sadly rather out of my price range, but congratulations on makeing so much for charity....a good one to boot.
I didn't see sad onion in the box. Recommendation by Chef excellence was also missing. How can we know this is a quality product, without those?
I remember this service, I still have a LEGO Laptop I made!
Also, I'm pretty sure at one point Lego themselves had a disclaimer on their site that said it is -not- "Legos".
Where can I get this Lego set, it looks funny and awesome
how did you get the lego copany to make this custom set? lol
I never liked lego when i was younger, i couldnt be bothered with it lol. Awesome video as usual though dude!
