Just how much (or little) does it cost to licence Terminator 2? My nana sells knitted toys at local scout fetes and the like. Maybe she can use her pension cheque to licence T2
I'm nearly 10 years late but I *totally* would've bought a knitted Terminator ...file that under things I never expected to even think, let alone actually write out
The giant machine gun that came with the second Terminator set is actually a cheap ripoff of a third-party Lego minifigure weapon manufacturer called Brickarms
Yeah after you slog your way thru 2 and 1/2 seasons of planet/alien culture of the week, it really does start to improve. It really gets a seriously epic feel to the series by the end of season 6.
Ah yes, of all the things I remember and love about Stargate, it was the Jaffa in their neon yellow jumpsuits, when they went out to the local disco after a long day of work.
Some of the elites wore gold armor, yellow is close enough if not using expensive gold paint. Everyone taking shots at this set but it is pretty accurate for the cost lol.
Its wonderful that through all the cultural barriers of growing up in a different nation, I can still find people with similar tastes in sarcasm, keep it up ashens
for a pound, it's not a bad investment for something to add to a tub full of loose legos. just the 4x4 flat blocks will set you back more than that with real lego.
Tealc in yellow? O_o I gotta know what happened to make him wear that, maybe he lost a bet or something :p Either way, that expression is perfect for him.
He actually did have that automatic rifle in the first film. But the toy is based on the 2nd movie. In the cheap set he came with a spas 12 looking shotgun and a rifle which are used in T1. Have the designers mixed up the movies?
Knowing a bit about the convoluted world of Terminator licenses (among other things, I believe the licensing rights for each film are held by different companies), they probably weren't allowed to use Arnold's likeness, and may have even had to do the weird black helmet-hair as a clear "not-Arnold" signifier.
SG-1 is by far my favorite sci-fi. I loved the way they actually started reverse engineering and integrating alien technology into their normal operations throughout the series.
To be fair, that Jaffa had about the right amount of anger on his face. Also, when you put Arnold's hair on the Jaffa, it makes it look like one of the lower ranking Jaffa that don't get the big fancy helmets. My friend bought one of those sets for a laugh and because he adores Stargate SG-1 ((So do I :3)). The set he got was a Jaffa and a Deathglider, the Jaffa space fighter craft. When it was finished his look of absolute anger and disgust was hilarious. I did warn him it'd be bad.
I love when Stuart describes this as "comedy (x)" such as "giant comedy feet" in this one. I don't know why, it just tickles me that he's using "comedy" as an adjective.
Most two-handed knives are spring loaded to keep them shut. This means that they're more difficult to open, and require a few extra seconds to get them into the right position. Those few extra seconds could make all the difference.
I'd have loved these toys as a kid, all we had in the 90s were those jaundiced Lego Minifigures with their hair painted onto their faces and black megaphones for guns.
It's a requirement in the UK for a street legal knife to be possible to open with one hand. Other requirements are that the blade is under three inches, that it can only be held open with the tension of the hand and doesn't lock. The logic is that a knife that takes two hands to open is more likely to have a stronger tension locking mechanism. In terms of UK law though, considering the law's liberalism of what is or isn't a weapon, it still depends on the circumstances that you're caught in.
oh my god *gasping for breath* i'm still laughing.... thank you Ashens I needed that today.... Just a suggestion have a "don't drink or eat while watching" warning... I almost spat my cuppa all over my computer when you started talking about the stargate set... thank you again.... oh noticed a double upload of the same video... is youtube acting up again?
I would actually have loved the two terminator sets if I would get it as a child. Just with the walls and different weapons I would've been able to spend my whole afternoon, and that for a quid or two- not bad imho. The Terminator figurine would also be pretty cool to use as a villain to play againt my other favourite lego cast.
Glocks have a trigger safety built into the trigger so that the trigger will only move when pulled properly and not when snagged by something. It's not as functional as a safety lever or a decocking lever, but it's there.
The Jaffa is holding a staff weapon. I wouldn't describe it as lasers it shoots.. more like energy blasts. You pronounce the 'a' in Jaffa as in 'awful' ;) SG-1 is actually a very good series! :)
Aside from the laser sighted pistol, the weapons are fairly accurate, actually. The rifle wasn't in T2; but resembles the one the T800 uses in the first film (an AR-18 according to imfdb.) If only they had included some of the funky looking 'plasma rifles' used by the Terminator endoskeletons in the future sequences! ;)
I bought several of the Stargate larger sets for the pyramid pieces. Their bricks are terrible and often have excess plastic on them that has to be trimmed. Their figures are terrible. But, the Anubis masks were very well detailed and made. Same mask as seen in the video.
"Collect all the walls and build a house!"
Lmfao
I am 100% certain that the package costs more to make than the Toy.
your 100% certainty failed you. It's probably packaging < contents < license
@@DOSRetroGamer bro stfu it was a joke

It's the Roy Orbison Terminator. He drove all night and now he is pissed.
"You Got It"
05Rudey "This is the End Of The Line, Sarah Connor!"
this seems like such and Ashens thing to say
The giant machine gun that came with the second Terminator set is actually a cheap ripoff of a third-party Lego minifigure weapon manufacturer called Brickarms
Ever since the first film I have always wondered why a terminator would need a gun with a laser-sight?
because its more badass that way.
Because it seems...EXTREEME
"Giant laser stick"
You're more accurate than what you think. it does indeed shoot lasers.
so does 'Arnie' fit on the bike? Cuz I'd give them extra points for effort if he did.
That ending was amazing. God Stuart's a dork
"Works with other brands... especially Russell"
That just made me giggle.
Stargate sg1 is really a great series if you get the chance to watch it highly recommend it
Yeah after you slog your way thru 2 and 1/2 seasons of planet/alien culture of the week, it really does start to improve. It really gets a seriously epic feel to the series by the end of season 6.
You are indeed correct Dylan White
Yeah, it's pronounced like "jah-fah", often followed by "kree!".
ashens honestly has the best intro to his videos. i dont know why but i cant get enough of it
I love how they didn't even bother to hide that the pieces didn't fit together on the box.
ashens can never die until he finishes reviewing all the tat in poundland
*And 7 years has passed since this video was a thing, and it’s on my recommended. Wow. That’s really, REALLY odd.*
I think my favourite moment in Terminator 2 is when Jarvis Cocker blows up that half-sized wall with a rocket launcher.
Come! We shall fight the Goa'uld along with the Oreos and the Chips Ahoy!
"some dead plants or possibly corpses of spiders"
My bet is on "gaming router painted desert camo", but spider corpse works too.
Honestly, the only real interest towards these sets from me is using the weapon molds with actual Lego figures.
Trust me, the weapons can't fit in a lego hand
Best going to brick arms for guns
There’s this one gun from a halo megablocks set that I use for boba fetts gun.
@@merdwardo2085 I agree with you
i think the sculpting for the jaffa helmet isnt half bad.

my local dollar general has Best-Lock sets for Fast and the Furious and one other license i can't remember

3:17 I love Arnold Schwarzeindian
Stargate thought us that other planets' trees look like the ones found in Canada, not tropical locations.
mraaaaaaBing!
Best Magic.
That made me laugh so hard.
On the first toy, ironically, both guns are ones he used in the first film, during the police shootout scene
Best Lock isn't too bad anymore they make some really nice little minifigures. That's it.
yeah
I like the guns :3
garrythegamer true dat.

"... It would be fought here, in our present."
And by present they mean 1991.
Actually in 1984 if you consider that was in the first movie
That´s the intro to The Terminator, so it´s 1984. Terminator 2 was released in 1991, but the events in the film takes place in 1994.
144p quality is my favourite! Thx Ashens, you now what your fans want. And you give it to them!
Never seen Stargate SG-1? If you like sci-fi even slightly, you owe it to yourself to watch that. One of the best sci-fi series out there.
SG-1 is by far my favorite sci-fi. I loved the way they actually started reverse engineering and integrating alien technology into their normal operations throughout the series.
+gampolo2o seriously though, i was impressed that they got Teal'c's expression so accurate...
+Cannibox Indeed
ok i think i have found a ned favorite youtube channel. The guy is killing me, hilarious
Wait, this stuff is LICENSED?!?
Yes, and I'm not sure what this world has come to... I give up
Radioactive MC Well, it's good that they actually turned to Mega Bloks to make licensed Terminator Genesiys sets.
Gaween Totawattage True, I wish lego would do something
Radioactive MC Probably best based on something like Terminator 1 and 2, not that... That... Salvation... Rubbish... Ugh.
Gaween Totawattage a part of me dies every time I see Salvation..
Always a good day when there is a ashens video in my subscription box!

I need your clothes, your, boots and your motorcycle.....after you assemble them.
I was 7 when I saw T2 judgement day in the theater with my parents. It was one of my best memories and is the reason why I'm such a movie buff today.

Steve Perry from Journey as Arnold Schwarzenegger
I swear i only watch this every episode for the sound of his voice. It's so smooothhh
Mega bloks made a pretty cool terminator. Way more articulation and detail.
This was the first Ashens video I watched
"there are probably worse things to spend your money on" like Peter Popoff
Neat. I have the Hunter-Killer set from the T2 series. I've never seen the Stargate one before.
Love the fact I get an advert before this for a really dire unimaginable sounding Schwarzenegger film...
An Ashens a day takes depression away.
I luv you're lax commentaries
Ashens is one of my favourite youtubers
I actually remember seeing the best-lock Terminator salvation sets at a Toys R Us a while ago. I was astounded.

Hilariously enough, some characters in Stargate really do pronounce it just as you would a Jaffa orange.

That "Arnold" figure looks like Halloween Mike, that most beloved of holiday characters.
I own two of the medium sized T2 sets and I really love them :)
Why did they make the jacket brown? What was the point?
I saw these a couple of days ago and I broke out laughing yet the people behind me thought I was mental.
for that price, i would've bought that first set in a heartbeat. I think it's actually pretty nifty.
Every time Ashens zooms in, I always get my hopes up that he's going to burn it....
I'm glad he didn't burn Jaffa!
They actually thought out the jaffa xD Quality isn't great, but atleast they got the race and attitude right.
The magic powers made me LOL :P
those not lego knock offs have finally came to america, i found some of those and a death glider from sg1 at big lots
Ah TH-cam recommendations for Ashens video coming up to Meeee, how long has it’s been since I’ve seen these videos? Like 2 years ago?
Is it me or does that "Arnold" Terminator figure fit the description of a T-600?
You came back! Yay, I thought you were lost.
What is with the company and putting walls in their set?!
'build a lot, play a little' nice slogan there best lock
For small figures you need a vice to squish them. Would have been a good intro to it with the terminator.
They are selling these in Big Lots in the states now and they are not really cheap in price. They do have deluxe sets though with an HK and Tank.
*shakes head* how have you not seen stargate, and that figure was hilairious
