Imagine how much slower the pacing of the show would be if every time they went anywhere in the Tardis there was a ten-minute scene of the doctor fiddling around with a d-pad or a joystick to steer it around galaxies and seaweed at 2 miles an hour
I think Blackpool was my favorite thing I've seen with David Tennant in it. Great show, but as with most British shows, it didn't run nearly enough episodes, but it did wrap up nicely at the end. I'd suggest anyone who is unfamiliar should check it out.
I kind of want this now. Is there an emulator for it though? If not, perhaps I could purchase one and create the first emulator. I wonder how many people will pirate this fabulous game if an emulator is nade. Hmm.
P Ferreira Just saw your comment due to getting notified by *****. Well, it would probably be easier to see, just like the original Gameboy games, when emulated. :P
Mrvideosandgames Oh yeah definitely. I wasn't saying it was a terrible idea, I was just joking as if to do that would be a guilty pleasure, a case of "why would you want to, but why not, go on anyway".
Interestingly the game itself is pretty much entirely based on Series 2, with a bit of 1, but the device is covered in images of characters from Series 3.
When you read the part about 'physical tests' I had the idea of what if at some random point in the game 'RUN A KILOMETER' popped up on the screen and flashed there until you did it...Also it had a sensor that detected movement.
Because of the story really, it's a sweet sweet sci-fi, with awesome characters, soundtracks and adventures. It has such an epic vibe, and the fact that we don't know so much about the protagonist makes it sooo mysterious, you need to watch the series to get what I mean.
A little of both. You can only watch the New Series and still know what's going on, but it is still part of the same series as the old stuff, hence the continuation of numbering of the Doctor's regenerations in the new series starts at 9, not 1. The old series ended with 7, the tv movie had 7 regenerate into 8, and somewhere between then and 2005, 8 regenerated into the 9 that starts Series 1.
I have the answer to one to one of your questions. The Wire was in the cab because it took control of Magpie who owns the TV company that the Wire is in. (You can see Magpie's logo on many other media equipment throughout the show!) The Wire ordered Magpie to connect her to the national broadcasting tower. You might not have seen this episode it's sort of...complicated
Dr. Who is that show that Americans watch and then start speaking in a fake British accent and talking non-stop about how they can't wait for their next vacation to England. And they're always shoehorning it into conversation in the most irrelevant ways. "I'm glad you enjoyed the concert. It reminded me of episode 428 of Dr. Who where David Tennant did some stupid shit that you don't care about. Let me give you the entire episode's synopsis."
We've been doing terrible fake British accents over here for far longer than that. The Anglophile thing certainly isn't new, either. I blame the Beatles for the latter.
Hey, now, we've changed a fair amount over here as time has gone by. We welcome your culture now - except the whole royalty thing. You can keep that. It creeps us out a bit. :)
Does anyone else notice that it said he found Martha at 9:19, but in the show when they did the episode with Madame La Pompadour and the Clockwork Droids the Doctor's companion was Rose
Its there. I don't have a link but I remember playing it a few years ago. I think it was made in AGS so you should check their forums and look around the mid 2000ish posts to find it.
The actually kept the doctor on earth so much was to ease new fans into it and not dump them head first into the deep end of years worth of lore and space travel. And I was more personally interested in the earth based episodes my self
Frank Thepug Not true, the budget for Series 1 and 2 was incredibly tight, meaning doing episodes based on earth around the past and present is much easier than creating a brand new alien world. IIRC the only time in the first 2 series of new who that's neither on earth nor a space station was The Impossible Planet (Oh, and I guess New Earth technically speaking) The only other explanation is the writers were being lazy and just using Earth because it's easier to write. This is very noticable in the multiple space station episodes, which could have easily taken place above any other planet. No real plot reason though, sadly. I do remember lots of tv guides and websites complaining about constantly being on earth for most of the time though. There actually has been a plot specific reason for The Doctor being stuck on earth though. Jon Pertwee, the Third Doctor, spent most of his time banished to earth after his previous incarnation was sentenced by the Time Lords because he was meddling with time, which is something the Time Lords didn't like doing. There were times where The Doctor did travel in The Tardis (though very limited) also in his first Series Finale, he accidnetally travelled to a parrallel universe, which is amusing because Tennant did the exact same thing in his first Series, when the show was still staying rather grounded on earth for all but one (two if you count new earth) story, excluding the space stations of course
OK, the game over screen on this thing if you lost all your lives made a hellish screaming noise and I think used a digitised screenshot of David Tennant getting electrocuted either from The Idiots Latern or Evolution Of The Daleks. Anyway, it scared the crap out of me as a kid and put me off playing it.
neko girl "they replace him with the new doctors" You realise that's how David Tennant got the part in the first place, right? By replacing another Doctor....
House. You're referring to the episode The Doctor's Wife in which the TARDIS is lured into a miniature bubble universe by the sentient asteroid House who feeds on TARDISes by moving their Matrix (their 'soul') into a humanoid receptacle and then feeding on the remaining artron energy. But when it finds out there are no Time Lords left it changes its plan by commandeering the empty shell and going to the main universe to look for a new food source.

Slightly...ITS BETTER BY 9999988877654321000000000000000000000000000%

I think Stuart would make a fantastic doctor. Charming, witty, and smart. I mean, he is a doctor, but of psychology.
