    Ten years from now. Both have 200,000 miles.
    Gm will have two more transmissions, the buttons will be worn off, and it will be worth about $7000.
    The Lexus will look mostly new inside, and be all original, and work roughly $25-35000 depending on aftermarket modifications.

    Lexus build quality is really impressive, and one notices the difference of how other manufacturers are lacking in quality after owning a Lexus lol

      Oh yeah. Owned a 2016 IS, 2022 Avalon and have a 2020 4Runner. Have had Chrysler, Infiniti and Hyundai. All junk compared to Lexus and Toyota.

    Quality, durability, reliability, and longevity are all possessed by the LX600, no question. BUT the one thing it refuses to master is SPACE. I love the LX600. I'm a Toyota / Lexus brand fanatic. My only issue with them is SIZE & SPACE. When it came down to it , I brought an Escalade ESV. My 21 gave me nothing, buy trouble - Assist traded it, and I was about to buy the LX600, but when i loaded my family up during my couple days of test driving it, we had no room. My kids immediately said "dad we need an Escalade. Please dont get this." My wife, low key, was like, i sure hope he dont buy this. We ended up with another Escalade ESV V Series, lol.. I have been to the shop once (with similar issues to the many numerous electronic issues i had with my 21). My point here is that most Americans need a BIG SUV why wont Toyota / Lexus step up to the plate and make it? When they do, I'll be there to buy that LX600 XL. I truly love the LX600, but the lack of space forces me to the Escalade ESV. This comment was too long but had a lot of passion, obviously. lol...

    It’s amazing how well built Lexus/Toyota products are, especially the older ones from the 90’s early 2000’s.
    I just recently bought a used 2005 Lexus LS 430 and man o man is this car built like a tank!
    The doors are very heavy, and the quality of the finish such as the paint, panel gap, fitted trim, is all top notch. Plus, even at 210K miles, nothing is leaking underneath the car! A GM or Ford would have already been leaking at like 50K miles.
    The older Cadillacs from the 1950’s-60’s were absolutely wonderful. One of the highest quality luxury cars ever made IMO. Something like 1964 Cadillac uses extremely high quality materials in and out, panel gaps are nice n tight vs say Cadillacs of the 1970’s. Tightly fitted door panels, everything was bolted or screwed down vs using cheap plastic clips like in new vehicles.
    American vehicle quality severely dropped off in quality by 1971 or 72. Even a new Escalade doesn’t compare to a beautiful well assembled 50’s or 60’s Cadillac that uses real metal chrome trim, and high quality actual real leather seats, vinyl, and thick plush carpeting like what your home would use.
    But as far as modern stuff goes, Lexus dominates the luxury vehicle industry.

      The LS 430 is one of the best made cars out there. I’ve owned 2. My dad and I drove a 2001 to 330k miles before getting rid of it (still on the road today and being driven) didn’t even start leaking till high 200k. I got a 2006 last year and still loving it!

    I agree with you 100% on the quality difference between the domestic and import, I've had both dodge and Ford and couldn't wait to see the back of them. Never again will i buy a domestic. Love my 2016 4runner.

    The state of the art plant in Indiana is turning out high quality...the Lexus TX and the Toyota Grand Highlander. I noticed a few senior Japanese on the team working hands on, ensuring quality standards are met. It's good to see Toyota and Lexus investing in the US, and doing things right.

    Built in Japan says it all. All my friends who get the Escalade trade it within a year of getting it due to all the repairs they have to do. They just end of trading it in.

      100%. Our Esclade is on life support. Wth is wrong with GM seats having a mind of their own.?!
      So many glitches with their electronics. Interior quality is mid tier for the price their commanding.
      It's like a very very poor version of the big Land Rover Range Rover .
      The space is the only thing worthy about this big lug. Should have gotten a Yukon instead.

      Mazda's are legit. You can tell that company flourished the moment it was freed from Ford's grip.
      I remember when we got a new 19' CX-5 for the lady. The quality + fit & finish of their Gran Touring was impressive. Priced so cheaply then.
      You wont have to worry about their drivetrain. Their Toyota like, actually even more obsessive with their engineering.

    A shame that the new GX will make the LX irrelevant to the point that it might get discontinued in the US.

    while toyota has rightly earned their reputation for quality, even they can be subject to just how abusive many people can be with cars. I've seen quite a bit of Toyota/ lexus that look like they should've been taken out to the desert and left it there. that being said, the overwhelming majority will carry that toyota quality well

    I took my Lexus in for service today at the dealership and I realized what my biggest complaint is about Lexus: the service lobby was full of septuagenarians and octogenarians waiting for their vehicles.
    Oh well. Still love my Lexus.

    Can’t go wrong with a Lexus! I just inherited my mom’s 2006 Lexus GX 470 with 432k miles, built quality verses my sister’s 2022 Chevy Suburban makes GM look foolish!

    Panel gaps are something nobody cares about until somebody tells them they’re supposed to care about them Lol. We’re talking about millimeters when we’re talking about panel gaps.

    • @matickon
      @matickon ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's not about the panel gaps it's about how much a car manufacturer focuses on high quality even in the smallest details

    • @Jay-bw3fl
      @Jay-bw3fl ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@matickon 1mm of panel gap doesn’t equate to every other aspect of a vehicle. It’s not a sound basis for measuring overall quality. Like I said it’s just something nobody cares about until they’re told they should care about it. I’m in no way defending GM. I think GM builds some of the lowest quality vehicles in existence.

    • @F85M
      @F85M ปีที่แล้ว

      I get what you're saying.
      But..... Pestal's are proving the point that panel gaps matter. Our friends bought a Model WHY!?!?!?!?!?!.
      A group of us Immediately did full inspection (all those videos you see on Intagram Tiktok)
      Damn! Its the shittiest quality! Put together by a bunch of Bay Area workers after a weed break.
      The gaps are horrendous, fit and finish inside was crooked or squeaking. Those social media post are no lies.
      Hatch or truck was uneven. Left side was higher when closed. Driver side doors was lower than back passengers. 🤣
