Sorry to say, it’s no-brainer the Lexus will last for a very long time and the maintenance cost is lower than the Cadillac. More importantly it has great resale value, amongst all the other brands.
Ha! These engines on the Toyota are literally blowing up! There’s a recall. So what reliability are you talking about? If an engine blows up after 8,000 miles what do you call that?!?
@thsihsav1 wrong the Escalade is a GM Truck and ain't no Toyota truck ever been better then any GM truck, they might be better in cars but Toyota is way behind in trucks. why you never see a Toyota truck being really compared to a GM truck it's a FORD, or a DODGE, Toyota is left way behind blowing up an all kinds of other shit.
Still not a good comparison, the Yukon Denali interior still looks more rich, with way more new technology too, maybe the mid grade Tahoe is a good comparison, cause the High County version interior still looks better then the dull cramped (in comparison) Lexus especially for the 100 plus thousand they want for the Lexus.
Compare the LX 600 to the Yukon Denali ? As each generation the Escalade will lose its value through time with a bad reputation about reliability while Lexus will retain its value, you'll become best friends with your local mechanics because you'll visit them all the time, so the Escalade of yours is not in the same league as the LX 600 which is a legendary, the legendary SUV by excellence.
I actually like that Escalade wood but I can see that some people wouldn't be a fan. With the stripes, I don't know what kind of wood it is but anything with a grain, I'm a fan. I like the blacked-out Lexus wood also.
To me, a car at this price has to be reliable and retain value over time. With that in mind, there’s no comparison between the two. I just traded my 2021 Escalade in for a 2024 LX. I’m taking a bath on the Escalade, which I expected. The Lexus is in a different class in terms of build quality, fit, and finish. The only thing I can say about the Escalade is that it’s bigger. Had to replace the exhaust in the Escalade due to it not being installed correctly. I worry about the Escalade outside of warranty. Also, the value will plummet after three years for the Escalade. I’ve owned four Lexus’s and four Cadillacs. Needed a new engine in my XTS under warranty. Lots of warranty work on the caddy’s. Too many to mention here. Not a single repair on any Lexus or Toyota ever - period! The lx should run forever due to its engineering. Hey, if you lease, it doesn’t matter, but I’m a buyer and want to keep it, so the Lexus is it.
Yeah because us who buy them keep them for 20 years and 400k miles🙄………..makes zero sense to buy a high end luxury vehicle because of longevity, when the Escalade is easier to service and part are more readily available!
Very few people are keeping these new autos beyond 5 years or 100K miles. Most folks are leasing these new autos because they are so expensive. Also, due to the complex technology in these new cars none of them make a good investment after the warranty ends. If folks really want to keep their auto forever (super long term reliable/dependability), they have to get autos that were made before 2012-2015. After those years, you really don’t want to keep these things too long. All these giant screens, integrated electronic starter generators, 4 wheel steering, etc. make the auto drive great but man $$$$. That is why I refuse to give up my 2010 Escalade with 115K miles. I can take it to the dealership or other places to get repaired without fear of some non-Cadillac certified technician screwing up something. Additionally, I’m a big believer in owning 2nd hand (let the first person take the depreciation), but now that doesn’t seem to be a good option.
Bought my wife a new Sport Platinum Escalade 14 months ago. What an amazing ride quality. The air suspension is unmatched. The interior cabin room is appreciated. So much elbow room. Captains chairs are great with 2 kids. Plenty of trunk room for long trips. All around…it’s a dream family hauler. We also got lucky and got the 3.0 baby diesel, wife gets 27mpg even with her lead foot. Buuuuut…the Escalade has been in the shop twice now. 1st time for transmission issue and now, the entire starter needs to be replaced. It’s on back order and truck has been sitting at the dealer for 2 weeks. We spent $130K OTD and I have REAL CONCERNS about its reliability long term. 19K miles and started is out? Like, really? 3 months ago I bought myself a ‘24 LX 600 F Sport. Yes, the Escalade is annoyingly roomier inside. The 2nd row is tight for my 2 kids, that is my biggest gripe with the LX 600. But, you can easily tell the difference in build quality. I am so confident my Lexus will outlast my wife’s Escalade. If Lexus introduces a hybrid version in a few years, I’ll probably trade for it. I’m getting 17th combined so getting 24mpg would be appreciated. If we are going on a family road trip, my wife and kids choose the Escalade but for my daily driver, the Lexus is great
My wife and I just bought a 24 LX 600 F Sport after an exhaustive search of all the large luxury SUVs including the Escalade. The Escalade has a lot more room - it's 10 inches longer than the LX - and more features/options. Despite that we chose the LX because the build quality is far superior (this truck should last 15 years no problem), we love the interior and exterior looks of the LX, the LX holds it value much better than the American and German SUVs and we thought the Escalade (and the Navigator as well) was just too big for us. If you don't plan to own it outside the warranty period and have a bunch of kids and stuff to drive around on a day-to-day basis, the Escalade may be a better choice. I also suggest doing your research on the V35A twin turbo engine in the LX which was part of a massive safety recall in the Tundras and LXs for the 22 and 23 model years. The Car Care Nut channel has a very good video on this. It looks like Toyota made some part number changes for the 24 year models so I think it is low risk which is why the 24s weren't included in the recall. Good luck deciding.
It’s very obvious that the Escalade is levels above the Lexus in every aspect. Also that Cadillac Escalade is the lowest spec and even though it’s still levels above. These days the caddy offers more tech, more features than any Mercedes and BMW 🤷♂️

Plus my Lexus dealer always gives me a nice Lexus loaner whenever they need a day or 2 to replace a part!
