You are my hero!! I was editing a vlog and I couldn’t remove noisy cicadas but your explanation of the analyzer function allowed me to find the frequency of the cicada screams… and squash em
Great tutorial! I wondered if there are any tools/plugins to enhance/equalise a full video with many clips. I am finalising an almost 2-hour video with more than 100 small clips with dialogues, music sounds, etc. It should be great to equalise all clips simultaneously. Maybe with some AI tools?
Thank you! I was looking foe something exactly like that! If I could have a question: how to record videos like that one? So that we see your face and what you are doing on your computer? Record my screen and separately record myself and the combine in fcp?
Cool video and I can get to that stage thanks. I want to add a third track to crossfade into the second one but it snaps to the first.. and I can't move it.. any tips..?

Dylan, I hope you have a great memory....I'm going to try my luck!!....In one of your videos either about audio or how to edit, you showed how to delete one of the blue boxes in the audio configuration because one of those boxes is a repeat of the other (where it says "Dialogue 1"). I went through more than 14 videos of yours yesterday and I can't find it!! Would you remember in which video you talk about that?
@StupidRaisins Yes!!!! The deletion was only to keep things tidy. Expecially when you have audio from the video, music, ect. I don't remember if you delete the 1st or 2nd "blue box" and where you delete it from....I can't find a delete option.....I remember I did cancel one of the "Dialogue box" in a previous video edit of mine but can't remember how I did it. Thanks!!!!
@@StupidRaisins /You are absolutely right! I'm sorry if I confused you!! I remembered....basically Dialogue and Music (if you have any) appear both with the name "Dialogue". You were saying to change the Music clips to the name (I think they are called "roles") "Music", to keep things tidy and how they are supposed to be called. Also the music clips color changes to green so it's even easier to differentiate! Sorry again if you were getting crazy trying to remember something that it wasn't!! :) Thanks again for all the videos and support...I'm going to hide now with shame...... :)
I have a problem/question. I recently added a clip to the timeline and when I play it, the audio and video are a second or two off. Not synchronized. Both are out of camera, the audio was not recorded on an other device. When I play the same clip on quick time or in the browser, it sounds fine. But when put in the timeline, not synchronized. Older clips sound fine. Any ideas what the problem might be? Thanks!
@@StupidRaisins Thanks for your reply. The shot video clips were shot at 25fps, and I discovered that the project settings were at 23.98(?). I changed it to 25 so now it works fine. But what was strange for me was that previous clips in the timeline did not have that problem, and still do not. Why it suddenly happened with newer clips is a mystery.
@@StupidRaisins I found people with similar problems on fcpx forums and I think one person mentioned, in a reply, that a difference in fps between the clip and project settings could be a problem. Maybe that was my problem. Thanks again for your swift reply. Really enjoy your videos!
@@bobrosberg55 That is strange that some clips are unaffected. FCP usually does a good job conforming clips and projects with different rates. I hope you can get your project done and let me know if you need more help.
I think he meant the black circle with red border that is part of the red playhead when you press stop.....that sits in the middle of your clip.......maybe......
@almonaro855 " It indicates which clip/title attributes are shown in the inspector. It usually is over the topmost clip. It indicates a targeted clip. For instance if you press Cmd-6 for the color board and make an adjustment it will effect the clip with the circle on it." This is from the Apple forum.

Haha! Glad you were able to get rid of those darn cicadas!
Appreciate the tutorial, been messing around with a bunch of things today and this one has been the easiest to follow so far :)
You're welcome!
You are doing a very good job. Thank you for all your hard work.
I appreciate that!

You could put them all into a compound clip and then apply the audio plugins to that one clip.
Very good job!
Thank you!
The last tip was very useful. Thank you.

You're welcome. I record my screen with Screenflow and myself with my Sony a6500 camera. Then I sync them in FCP and edit.
Love your videos, always extremely helpful.
Glad you like them!
Great video, thanks! Really enjoy your work.
Thanks for watching!

I don't think you can delete them but you can deactivate them by unchecking the box.

How can I learn what is the tiny red circle which sits in the middle of the TIMELINE INDICATOR? What is it telling the editor?
Show me what you mean. Take a screenshot please.

Possibly.
Yes! ¿What is it? It comes and goes; no idea what it indicates.

What about limiter and compressor?
Both are great tools but in this tutorial I wanted to focus on just the equalizer.
OMG THANK YOU
