    It's refreshing to see a Dad and Daughter project, let's learn together. It's a great idea and very refreshing. in regards to the training, clear and concise. I was looking for embroidery files for a friend of mine as to how to make one, or export one that they could use when I came across this one. it answered all my questions. I'm not an Inkscape user (more Vcarve and Lightburn) for my cnc router and laser. you have to limit your software expertise so you can use one or two very well, and just export what is needed for your machine. lastly, I actually took an .svg file from my Vcarve software, and imported it to Inkscape, no work done to it, went straight to InkStich and made an .pes file. perfect. Thank you. have fun, embrace, as they are not young for long.

    When uploading an image to Inkscape try edit trace bitmap>update>apply it should automatically trace nodes around your image so you don’t have to do it manually

    You guys are great at explaining the creation, conversion, and digitizing process, step-by-step, that's required to embroider an image/logo. It's amazing that folk will charge upwards of $30-$40 to do this. I wish you and your daughter success. More vids please.

      Thanks for watching! You can organize by color and objects by stacking objects in the order you want them to stitch out (inkstitch>edit>restacking…) you can also program jump stitch cutting within your design, but that feature doesn’t seem to work with our machine (brother SE1900), those settings also found in the ink stitch >edit. Hope this helps!

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The tracing (black lines) does not need to be included in your embroidery. It is however necessary to define your full shape. Once you are complete with your tracing, and filled it with color, you can select the object and hit “shift” and the “X” in the far left of your color palette. Hope this helps!

    hi, thanks for your video, very informative and helpful ! do you know by any chance if the followings functions are available in inkspace (they come from the bernina software) : globe effect, 3D effect, fluffy letters effect, distortion effect (seen on the bernina B880), trapunto effect, color wheel/shuffling, being able to remove any jump stitch, being able to group the colors so you don't have to change the bobbins as much, being able to choose the direction and form of the stitches inside a design and so on ? Thanks a lot !

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello there, thanks for watching! Of the effects you mentioned, there are only a few that Inkstitch has natively (ability to program cutting jump stitches (though this doesn't work with our machine, Brother SE1900), grouping of colors, and direction of stitch). Grouping of colors is actually more of a manual process of organizing your design, but it does the trick... direction of stitch is adjustable by degree of stitch angle in params. This is very rudimentary embroidery software, and does not have all the effects that you could find in paid embroidery software. Hope this helps!

      Which tool were you looking for? In this video we used “layers” and “fill and stroke” (both you can find in the top menu) hope this helps!

    Thank you for the video. New to embroidery and would love to learn how to digitalization of a pic. I am having a hard time though don’t know if I did something wrong. I downloaded the latest version of both Inkscape / ink stitch but when I use the paeans button it doesn’t work not even an error message pops up. What am I doing wrong?

      You can try deleting and reinstalling it, but unfortunately we’re really not sure. Thanks for watching!

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! If you want to make the border around the bunny bigger, you can click the “Object” menu at the top of the Inkscape window, then select “Fill and Stroke”. A new tab should appear at the right where you can select “Stroke Style”, from there you can increase the width. Hope this helps!

    Can I just upload an SVG file and skip some of the step or do I have to convert the png in to SVG within Inkscape for it to work?

    Your videos are so helpful! I am just trying to do my first design. It is only two colors...black and white. All the areas stitched out fine except for the very largest area. It did the underlay, but not the final top stitching. I used autofill, so nothing different for each layer. Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm, that’s a strange one… when you select just that problem object (vs the whole design) in params, is there any difference? Are the params settings different?

      @@ProjectAnonymous_Duo I finally figured it out! I used the break apart command and then it worked. Thanks for what you do!

    Thank you so much for this helpful video! One question, What format does my image need to be in in order to export to inkscape? I keep trying and it is giving me an error message.

      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m glad our videos could help you! We’ve been able to import .png’s and .jpg’s, but you can find other formats that you can import and export on the Ink/Stitch website: inkstitch.org/docs/file-formats/. Hope this helps!

    Qiuestion: can u just use the fill to do the stitching and do without the outline or does the outline have to be there

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, the outline doesn’t have to be there. You can get rid of it in Inkscape by holding down SHIFT and clicking the X at the far left of the color palette. Hope this helps!

    What is the setting you have set for the pen setting at 8:53? When I try to do it it keeps creating weird fill patterns!

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you are using the bezier tool, you can remove fill settings by selecting the red X on the color palette. I hope this can help. Thanks for watching!

    Very helpful video, however my options on the Params are only open to Autofill, autofill underlay, and Fill. Am I just missing an update or did I do something wrong in the path?

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending on what kind of objects (paths) you selected in params, the options will change… (i.e. if there are no stroke paths selected, params will not bring up those options). Hope this helps!

    Does anybody know if you can change a PDF file into a PES file for a baby lock sewing machine?
    I noticed on the list they had for a brother machine but I didn’t notice any baby lock on the ink stitch list for saving files.

    Will this software also make or convert files in to a Jef file as well? I have a Janome Memory Craft E 400 and its only uses Jef files.

    Hey guys!! Appreciate all the hep from your channel! I have 1 random question.. I have an already digitized file I opened in inkstitch and wanted to make it a bit bigger for a hat so increased it from 4 inches to 4.75 inches. Well it keeps the same stitch out, correct? so the density needs increased quite a bit right. So I open params and its a running stitch so I want to change the zig zag stitch from .4 to maybe .3 or .2 to increase the density? Does that make sense or sound correct? If so, when I do that the stitch out/density doesn't change at all. Am I doing it all wrong? or need to change something? I cannot figure it out at all. I would greatly appreciate any help you could give. Thanks again guys!!

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! No, if you increase the size of the .svg file and reexport as a .pes, the stitch density should readjust itself to give your same param settings. Hope this helps!

    Is there a difference in user extensions and regular extensions folders? When I open mine it is full of contents unlike yours? Any help with this is greatly appreciated!

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Our user extensions folder only has ink stitch in it… If you see differences between ours and yours, keep in mind we were using an older version of ink stitch in this video, all of our other extension options are default. Hope this answers your question!

    Is the needle going to the far top right after the preview normal? I think it might be messing with how large the embroidery is because my sewing machine should be able to work a 10cmx10cm area, and my design is about 9x4, but it says that the pattern is too large.

      Do you have any layers or remnants that are possibly being picked up that is causing the issue? Other than that we can't be sure what the issue is. Thanks for watching.
