  • Learn how to use Inkstitch (an extension for Inkscape) to create custom patches and designs. Using completely free embroidery software.
    I started my embroidery digitizing journey with Inkscape because of the high prices of other embroidery softwares and fell in love with learning and teaching others how to use this wonderful recourse.

    This tutorial was fantastic. I haven't had a chance to run my design yet on my Brother SE600, but this was such an amazing tutorial to follow along too. I kept referring back to it as I was digitizing my design. Thank you so much for posting this!!!

    I'm 100% new to this. Haven't even opened my Brother SE1900 first 5 min of your video I paused to write this silly comment and take a note for research 😂 learning there are satin stitches which mean there's also other types of stitches lol. I better be takin' notes😂.

    if I may ask, is there any limit to the number of layers you can have?

    did you set all the paths to dashes? fill n satin? is this required, if so for?

    Hello. Great video. How do I change the stitch-length? is that in inksticth or in the embroidery-machine? For instance the stitch length is 1mm or 3mm long. Thanks

    • @anobesecat7907
      @anobesecat7907  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question that would be something you adjust on the software. On Inkscape it’s under params under stroke tab ->(running stitch length)

  • @dontlookmeupx3634

    For the top stitch the outline how do I get mine to look so clean? I can’t?

  • @raybullock4540
    @raybullock4540 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Im very confused about how you created the layers. Did the program automatically create the layers for you or did you go in and draw each layer? I'm not sure how to get the layers to appear the way yours do

    • @anobesecat7907
      @anobesecat7907  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi I created those layers manually. If you don’t have the tab open you can go to the top where it says layer ->click “layers…” that will open the layer tab on your right.

  • @RyanHoulio

    Is there a rough guideline for what size you should be using a fill, a satin, and a stroke pattern for?
    My first digitized designs i believe i had used fill for everything and they turned out like crap.

    • @anobesecat7907
      @anobesecat7907  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! I would say 3/8th to 1/2 of an inch is the widest your satins stitches should ever be unless your working on puff embroidery.

    • @anobesecat7907
      @anobesecat7907  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And I would generally try staying away from fills if I’m working on something smaller than 1/2 an inch

    How do you set the density for the fill stitches?

    • @anobesecat7907
      @anobesecat7907  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can adjust the density in Params under the auto fill tab- spacing between rows. Also added a link in my bio to blog explaining it

    very confused. My program looks a bit different. when I go to layers the only option is "layers and objects" and when I click that it looks nothing like yours. I've clicked add layers but that doesn't do anything that looks like yours. also, can't import a regular image it has to be svg format

    Everytime I press comvert to satin stitch, i get an error that says it can only convert simple lines to satin. Im following everything to the T, bah. I dont know where im going wrong

  • @emilyngvyen
    @emilyngvyen 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    what does the satin lines mean? like details in the design or?

    • @anobesecat7907
      @anobesecat7907  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually you use a satin stitch for smaller details or thin lines. For example the outline on most patches is a satin stitch. Satin stitches are stitched In parallel ladder like lines that that give it a satin like shine
      Hope that helped you understand
