Your tutorials are great, the easiest by far to follow. I have an added trick for you or anyone who may struggle hooping, add stroke box larger than your design to stitch out first, have the stitch length a little longer. This can essentially baste your material to the stabilizer and help prevent the pulling. I have found it really helps with projects I am floating too.
you mean a bastin stitch? Some machines come with that feature! You are right it is a good idea for the bastin Stitch to have a big stitch length, so you can more easily remove it afterwards
I'm new to digitizing and learning InkStitch. These videos are comprehensive and have answered so many of my questions! Thanks for your amazing work and sharing your skills with the world!
I now realize I watched a video on a satin stitch and it just so happened to be a custom satin stitch and I thought that’s just how you have to do it so I been doing a custom satin stitch for everythingggggg which takes me forever. Gonna save so much time now haha
Fantastic video as usual. I really learned a lot about the software and stiching in general from you. So thank you for doing this high quality content, you guys really keep free stiching alive 👊😎 Now I'm looking forward for your next one 👌😇
Thinking that I may need to do this tutorial and see if I can add what each stitch is above the stitch for a reference any time I may wonder which to use.
Hello! Thank you so much for the tutorials! I am super beginner with my first machine! I have a question, I see that you were able to create a running and bean stitch on the same file as your satin stitch. When I tried to preview it in the param settings, it told me I couldn't do both at the same time. But here you have all the stitches embroidered out in 1 .pes file. Is it just a preview issue or what do I need to do to have both satin and running/bean stitch together? 😅 Thank you!
We suggest you view it in the realistic simulator instead of params. Go to Extensions>Ink/Stitch>Visualize and Export>Simulator Realistic Preview. This is covered in Tip 4 in this video: th-cam.com/video/P82I9U4z-mk/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared Thanks for watching.
Great video! These have helped me immensely. I have a quick question: I have some small text overtop of a fill stitch background and it does not turn out very well. I tries the bean stitch and that didn't work. I then tried a dense zig zag stitch and that also didnt work. Is there a stitch type that works well overtop of fill stitch for smaller fonts. Note that the font is probably too small for a satin stitch. Worst case I can try that, it just takes much longer to trace lettering. (Also the font is custom so I cant use built in fonts.) Thanks you guys are the best!
Auto machines, especially the non-industrial types are not good with long thread fills or very wide satins. I would consider filling with satin to be some kind of segmented long stitch filling and the results will hardly ever look right. You would need to use a flat lying thread like Rayon 40, lower your top tension, use a wider stronger needle and overlap the satin runs (which comes with a whole host of issues) and just hope for the best, or try to butt up satins for which there is a big risk of gaps appearing or damage to the material if adjacent satins share the same thread points. If I had any advice it would be to have a denser fill stitch, or run your fill stitch twice (underlay only once) or even better buy a manual zigzag machine and do it by hand as you can manually stitch very long threads i.e. huge satin widths and easily fill a section with neat tidy thread fills. the results will be far better, with a little practice of course.
Absolute beginner, have done exactly as you have done with the Bezier tool. draw the straight line hit enter and poof my line is gone. tried several times same results. What am I doing different/wrong?
Hi, sorry to hear you’re having troubles with the tool. One thing you could try is making sure the stroke thickness is wide enough by going to stroke and style and increase it. Another thing you could try is making sure the opacity is high enough. Lastly make sure you have a stroke color on, shift and select a color while you have it selected. I hope this could help you!
Reaching out for some help. Sometimes when creating a design by tracing a bit map, it creates a path (or section of a path) that does not complete the fill. It will stitch out the outline and underlay, but not the the over lying fill. I have messed with the Params a little, and I still can't get it to work. Any ideas on how to remedy this problem would be very helpful.
We have had our own troubles with trace bitmap, here’s a link to a video where we cover using the feature and our struggles: th-cam.com/video/fx0Fn2tqtQ0/w-d-xo.html. Hope this helps!
@@ProjectAnonymous_Duo I appreciate the quick response. Unfortunately, I've watched that video many times before, and I am still having the issue after the break apart fill tool has been used. Thanks for responding and keep up the content!
Super helpful! I made my designs in Inkscape and everything looks great in the program but when I embroider it looks like the tension is wrong and I can see the bobbin thread. I tried the pre program designs and this wasn't happening with them. I cleaned the bobbin case and I cannot figure out what is wrong. Do you have any tips?
@@ProjectAnonymous_Duo where can I find pull compensation in params? I have the same isuue, tighten upper thread just makes the whole stitching loose and unsightly. Its it because it is just a line drawing?
I'm struggling with making my satin stitches thicker. It looks the proper thickness in inkstitch but when I put it through my brother machine it ends up skinny... I don't know if its an issure with my inkstitch file or with my embroidery machine. Do you have any tips?
We haven't run into an issue with this but maybe you can try creating a bunch of satin stitches on a scrap fabric testing different widths and styles to see if you can create a thickness that works. Here are some videos featuring satin stitches that may help you make some adjustments: th-cam.com/video/3tzpgw_nMik/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared and th-cam.com/video/24isEK37Hvc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=39XVs2Fhc7i0zIFU

The stitch type we would have recommended for small fonts are ones you have already tried. What thread weight and needle size are you using?
Nice video! next time can you show me how to fill a design with satin stitch?
Thank you! We put this on our ideas for videos to do in the future.

I have problems with small images and tiny type. You can try to tighten or loosen the machine tension. Or in parameters make your stitches bigger.
You could try experimenting with pull compensation in params. Thanks for watching!
