The best advice for feeding kids I've ever heard! I remember my "awakening", reading a scene in a book about some guy savouring olives. After that I went from refusing to eat food that I even suspected having onions or mushrooms in them to loving them, not instantly of course. Anthony Bourdain will live in our cherished memories. Only really started to watch Anthony Bourdain now with his series Parts unknown. Sad to say we lost one of the great guys. A knowledgeable, cultured and down to earth person who had his ups and downs with addiction yet came through the other side. He was a fantastic chef, writer, presenter and Father. He had plenty of good times travelling the world drinking with the locals. Such a shame he was suffering in silence putting on a brave face. He must have felt suffocated by his depression and felt he had no option but to end his life which is truly heartbreaking. RIP Buddy.
Well I mean Bourdain was never shy of death or talking about death - he knew he would die eventually like every one else. He mentioned many times how he believed he would never make it to the age he did.

He obviously loved her more than anything in life; which gives you an idea of the kind of inner pain that he must have been struggling with when he decided to take his life - knowing he would leave all that he loved behind. Sometimes pain gets the better of love; those are the moments when you need a lifesaving reminder.

Did he figure out a way to decrease illegal immigration, or enrich the educational system? Solve the high crime rate? Etc. just wondering. Oh yea he hung himself and left his child alone...without a dad.
How ironic when Tony answers that this dish, linguine aloe vongole, would make a good last meal because it's loaded with garlic, and gives you good stinky garlicy breath - a good way to go out. Then he says if he were planning to die tomorrow he would like to eat at a high end sushi restaurant in Tokoyo...or even a bowl of noodles. Today, June 8, 2018, he exited planet Earth but will live on forever in our hearts. He changed my life, and there will never be anyone that can fill his shoes. RIP Anthony Michael Bourdain.
Bourdain your work will stay on forever as long as they are people eating, thank you for your service to bring culture, food and humanities together on a plate for all to enjoy
May he rest in peace, great artist in many ways, chef, writer, film maker, world traveler. He made the world that much closer for all of us and gave us a real appreciation of other cultures. No kid should be afraid of eating seafood or is esp if they grow up on old Cape Cod here where Anthony got his start at a restaurant as a sous chef. Provincetown has some of the best restaurants, equal to Boston, NYC and Paris! The late great American abstract expressionist painter Robert Motherwell once said, " who needs Paris when you have P'town" as Provincetown is affectionately known as, the oldest summer artist colony in the country. So bring on those clams along with the clam chowdah and Lobstah!! Saw Anthony's big boat here shrink wrapped for the winter, it's name was "NO RESERVATIONS" Thanks for sharing~

Yep. He had a dark side to him. I personally believe it was the history of heroin use/addiction. I think it permanently alters your brain chemistry. I had a friend who was very similar, former heroin addict, world traveler, smoker, drinker, funny, life of the party, artistic, smart, talented, articulate, well paying job, 2 young kids and a lovely wife. Hung himself spontaneously one afternoon after a small family squabble. He spoke of hanging himself for years, in a joking manner, whenever there was a little stress in his life. He had so much going for him, you'd never, ever, even dream he'd take his own life.
Genevieve y’all clearly don’t know what depression is. It’s not like you get hooked on drugs and just develop a depression from it. You get hooked on them BECAUSE of mental issues that were always there to begin with and drugs are an escape from the mental hell that people with depression deal with
Well he didn't have anything else to live for apparently and was very obsorbed in the world he'd made for himself based around food. He may not have understood anything else, but it's not very nice to his daughter who now will never have the chance to talk to her dad again.
Anthony Bourdain is the truth when it comes to culture and culinary adventures. Man I miss that voice narrating any of his shows or other shows on Netflix. The interview was awesome too! Rest in paradise Mr. Bourdain. The word isn't the same!
""This is for grown-ups honey, I don't think you''ll like it."" My mom's parallel line was, ""That's okay. You' make like it when you taste buds mature, and you are a grown up."" Love it!
It's so heartbreaking to hear him speak about his little girl, people don't often think about the victims left behind from suicide, I truly hope his little girl finds peace eventually and that she is surrounded by lots of love and support, I hope that for all victims left behind by suicide, suicide is a very selfish act, but I know sometimes the pain and hopelessness become too overwhelming, it's unbearable, Ive been there, I hope Anthony is at peace now, he was a wonderful person, he is deeply missed R.I.P
Selfish is an unhelpful word when describing suicide, the stigma attached to suicide can stop people from discussing their suicidal feelings.

Did he figure out a way to decrease illegal immigration, or enrich the educational system? Solve the high crime rate? Etc. just wondering. Oh yea he hung himself and left his child alone...without a dad.
He’s making this classic dish so effortlessly- love it
How ironic when Tony answers that this dish, linguine aloe vongole, would make a good last meal because it's loaded with garlic, and gives you good stinky garlicy breath - a good way to go out.
Lapis Mosi
You are totally right.
Bourdain your work will stay on forever as long as they are people eating, thank you for your service to bring culture, food and humanities together on a plate for all to enjoy
I hope he got his high-end sushi meal. Farewell AB.
In France? Nope.
camban he was in France
Hope he at least got some bone marrow on toast and pan-roasted foie gras
There’s Japanese people in France
What a perfect show!!! In honor of a great man, I just did a portrait painting of him....😍😍😍
Why can’t all interviewers be this good. 10/10.
Never met the guy...Not once....but I miss him....me and my mother always talked that if I could meet a celebrity any celebrity who would it be...it was Anthony Bourdain... RIP
May you find peace in heaven Anthony Bourdain. You're such an inspiration to many people🙏
Never knew he worked with Ralph Steadman, Anthony you were a true scallywag and are truly missed..the culinary world will never be the same..R.I.P Friend
This is for grownups.... Single best culinary parenting advice I've seen!
I have seen so many interviews of him and he always talks about his last meal....kind of eerie
OMGWTFLOL that’s awful, yet dark and quite frightening how drugs can alter your brain forever. I feel sorry for your friend’s family :(
I think you nailed it
Genevieve y’all clearly don’t know what depression is.
Finally a host that doesn’t interrupt the guest and just let them talk and with real honest questions
Mr. Bourdain seemed like a very cool dude. (I'm using the word COOL as a slang word meaning decent, respectful and loving in this sentence)
This guy was not just an American treasure. He belonged to the world and lives on in our truest spirit
This man is more intriguing every time I see him.
I love him shouting out Bun Bo Hue. My favorite thing to eat at my grandma's house and a very slept on Vietnamese dish in the states
Anthony is just right as usual. Comfortable in his own skin.
Kellie C
genius is never comfortable in it's own skin... the pain of it goes with the territory.
T Garcia chill
Lmfao!! Jokes on you buddy. Not that comfortable anymore, huh?
I miss this man. Love you Bourdain wherever you are.
He actually looks healthier and content. Great interview skills.
Oh anthony. I never met you, but you being gone has left a hole in my heart. 🥲🥲🥲
I liked as soon as I saw Ralph Steadman art on the cover
He will be missed. He was one of the best food critics and food bloger of this decade.. RIP
such a shame, such an articulate, interesting, honest man....its hard to figure
it hurts!
A very down-to-earth session. Awesome. Now I'm really glad I have that book.
Ditto!!I wish he had thought of his little girl.Something set him off that day. Some thing it was his Italian girlfriend.
Selfish is an unhelpful word when describing suicide, the stigma attached to suicide can stop people from discussing their suicidal feelings.
I love this! My brothers and I would joke we had garlic for self defense reasons because most of our family homestyle cooking in our day included garlic. You don't smell it if you all partake, and we loved it and did.
"This is for grown-up , I don't think you'll like it"
Nice reverse psychology. ;-)
He’s still teaching us yrs after his departure, RIP
He talked a lot about death in his shows. It was clearly something he though about often. RIP. Thank you for the entertainment throughout the years.
Charismatic, witty, one heck of a story teller, and really an exceptional chef to boot. Hope you have found your peaceful place 'Tony.'
"A human being should be able to...cook a tasty meal...” Robert Heinlein. Bourdain has the tasty meal thing nailed.
He ADORED his little girl...and I am happy she will KNOW
without a doubt she was Loved> He spoke of her a Lot in many episodes
I love that even Anthony Bourdain boils the pasta water over :)
He just made something fantastic in just a few minutes! I am going to have to try this!
Rip❤️
This was so good to watch. Thanks for sharing. RIP Tony.
