I got the Neumann Tlm 102 I didn’t know mix quality could be this good I upgraded from the rode nt 1 a it was great for a while because I came from a fifine usb mic (before that I used a sock on my phone)! Great mic!!!
Awesome! I really like it on my voice and thought it was worth the investment but some people may find it a bit bright. Still think the Rode NT1 is great and it’s quality is definitely light years better than usb mics.

You voice is so good I'm jelly. A TLM 102 isn't overkill in your special case. It really brings it to shine. Do you think it would work for a baritone singer too ?
Thanks Rainbow Sam! I always tell people to try it out for themselves because every mic has its own “coloration” and what I like in a vocal might not be what the next person likes or is looking for. So my advice would be to buy it, test it and then decide whether to keep it or not.

Tbh, I'm a belter and my current mic is clipping way too often, I'd like to invest in something really smooth, that can handle big dynamic range in a short amount of time without me having to move back and forth too excessively, Ideally recording a vocal track in one take if possible, to get kind of a flow going.
@@Yadeehoo then I would go with a dynamic* mic (such as the Shure SM7B) instead of a condenser mic because dynamics can withstand much louder decibel levels and audio sources. If you do, grab yourself a cloudlifter so you can get a good gain level on your SM7B.
@@homestudioacademy An SM587 would work just as well, plus could be used in live show. I'm looking for a studio mic. There must be one that can handle belting, like do you think Adele recorded her album on a dynamic mic ? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@Yadeehoo highly doubt Adele used a dynamic mic. I’m pretty sure she uses a large diaphragm condenser to record in the studio like a (Neumann u47) style mic. However, if you still prefer a condenser, here is a tip to avoid clipping: If you sing in a lower register on the verses and a higher register in the chorus, then set the gain levels for the each section of the song separately. Set your levels for the verses, record them first. Then set the levels for the chorus and record them after. This will prevent you for setting one single setting for the entire song and running into the risk of clipping when you hit the loudest part of your performance.
Hi. Thanks for review. I ask a personal question. Currently i have rode m3 and SE X1 A. And i want to upgrade. I am between 102 and NT1. For me is 102 too much upgrade? Is NT1 enough or should i pass NT1 and go to next level. I am not a pro but aim to pro in 2 years.

Hey jeffreysbrother, that too lol but I was referring to the fact that even though it's the smallest and least expensive mic made by Neumann, it still has the Neumann "tone" quality in its sound.
That is not a shock mount, it is a mic holder, it does nothing to reject noice from the stand, actualy the mic is useless without a real shock mount, so DO NOT buy this mic without a decent shock mount, buy the studio set with included shock mount, you will thank me for saying.... Ow, yes I own 2 of them, great mics, love them, but with the shock mount and not with that horrible mic holder, it makes the mic unusable! Second, great you did buy the shock mount but take the foam, it is only there for transport..!

Condenser mics require 48v (phantom power) so you’ll need an Audio Interface to turn it on. It does not work with batteries.
