    I figure I spend the whole round memorizing the code, I ought get a little something out of it.

      Question to you RickiTiki Sticks, I am very new to Onward and I'm not totally understanding why you're memorizing the code before / during the match. I would imagine making the process of capping once you are at objective quicker is the obvious reason. I just wondered though, is the code not available once the game has started? In my experience the code is available anytime on the tablet. Is it not available in higher Stakes games? Thanks!

      @@rhinocirrus Hi Ryan! You’re right the code is still available on the tablet at any time but, in general, it’s still much faster to have the code memorized. In matches against good teams, your enemies will be watching their teammates’ positions closely (on their own tablets) so they’ll quickly know when their defender on the objective dies and rotate to prevent a cap. If they’re quick, you’ll only have moments to cap, so every second counts.

      @@rhinocirrus Obviously not Ricki, but the code is accessible anytime and you're correct in saying it's best to memorize it right from the beginning. Memorizing the code at the beginning of the round will save you time compared to trying to memorize it at the uplink when you could be capping during that point.

    Thank you Theta for all of your content! I am really new to Onward and I am absolutely hooked. IMO all of your videos are valuable to someone very green like myself. Also, I would guess the type of critique illustrated in this video helps most players watching that are not yet at league competition level and probably quite a few that are. So yes, please make more videos like this in the future if you can fit it in. I know I have made every mistake you have brought up here more than once. This gives me a ton of information to digest and work on. Thanks also to the players that submitted their game play footage.
    I think something that might be really helpful to me right now is hearing audio of an at least somewhat experienced team during an entire match. I understand what to call out, and I know that I can memorize Maps that are online. To hear them in action would be another thing altogether. It would just be real interesting to see how a team works together from a communication standpoint. I haven't been able to watch every video you've made yet 😁 so you may already have something like this that I just haven't seen. Thanks again for everything!

      Right on, thanks for watching and welcome to the game. In terms of in-game audio, you should just play with more experienced players. I host lobbies on a regular basis for people in my Discord, you should come join us: invite.gg/ThetaVR

      @@ThetaVR I added myself to the role, so I am all set. Are there rough times and days you play? I ask because I work a second shift Monday - Friday, but I can change my schedule a bit if I know a little in advance.

      @@rhinocirrus The standard time is 6pm PST at least a few times a week. Lately we've been doing Monday, Wednesday, Friday, but that isn't set in stone.

    I feel like this was helpful.
    I have been dealing with toxic kids, either team-killing a teammate or me, or constantly being asked to Res them, ect and often just feeling like a babysitter.
    Is there a way I can avoid this?
    I know there are kids who are good team players, so I'm not saying all of them are like that.
    But I'd like to play with people who take the game seriously.
    Any advice Theta?

    • @ThetaVR
      @ThetaVR  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The big one is find a group to play with and coordinate with them. Joining a league team helps a lot there. I also host lobbies for my Discord members every week, and you're free to join those as well: invite.gg/ThetaVR.

    Hey Theta, mind if I use your precious comment section to find a good sparring partner? I’m decently new to Onward (blue belt considering your practice partners 2 video) but am competent enough to play with someone my level or a little higher to get better or help someone out.
