Great video. :) Although I agree that this controversy made a lot of people aware of her existence I would argue that it didn't help her that much. She is partially lucky that culture is slowly shifting because I can't imagine back in the day a female artist (who wasn't already really successful, established, and beloved) still having a career after that. A few years ago it would be over for her, sadly. Now, she was at least able to share her side of the story even tho - as you pointed out - she didn't have a big enough fanbase to fight for her. But I think it was mostly due to how she handled it. Her response was very classy, she didn't even come for Olivia. And she kept working hard, building her image, her brand and capitalizing on her viral moments, which is something a lot of newer artists don't know how to do. However, I do think to some degree she did help push the fun pop songs especially with Espresso. Espresso is literally a song about nothing but the tune of it, is very bubblegum pop influenced. It is just a fun song to vibe to. There is nothing more to it. Music was in a state where every song released was moody or angsty beginning in the start of 2010s till the pandemic (this was the time where it really exploded). Music needed to be relatable and show the dark sides of life. It’s the reason people geared towards people like Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo because their music was “relatable” and “meaningful”. Sabrina, while she does make some moody songs, her music is pure fun pop. It wasn’t until mid 2023 and this year where people started to want fun pop again. This is why we are seeing more people interested in the music of Sabrina, Tate McRae, or Chappell Roan because they are pushing the danceable fun and happy bops.

It also gave Sabrina and her team a wake up call to revamp her career and reputation which was almost damaged by that drama and she redeemed herself to the public with her Emails I can't send album, went on her own sold out tour, became viral with her nonsense outros on tiktok and then eventually earned the opportunity to sing on Taylor's tour which brought more attention on her and now she is truly getting recognition. Her relationship with Barry is also helping.

Genuinely asking: why isnt Joshua Bassett, who was severely hurt by the drama, doesnt receive the same attention as both Olivia and Sabrina? Because, from my pov, i feel like both Sabrina, despite being hurt too, but she managed to be at the top especially after the eras tour while Olivia after both Sour and Guts. But Joshua?? I feel like he's sort of left out and is always be associated with both of them (instance 1. When he posted his time during HSMTMTS and the end of HSMTMTS, people said he havent move on from Olivia, many more). Is it because Josh didnt re-invent himself? I feel he’s the mouse that got trampled by two elephants. The music scene is also currently dominated by women, especially in pop, so maybe there just wasn’t a demand for him as an artist? The drama also made him look like he was playing two girls and so that was a bad look on his part and many female fans were put off by him? But he’s young and still releasing music so he may also have his big break one day
