I have been stanning Sabrina since her first album. And the way she handled the Liv situation..was just so mature. She didnt tear another woman down over a guy. Even in her songs...the lyrics were pure and just reflecting her emotions. If i had to pick a side....id pick Sabrina. People are obsessed with picking sides when humanly things happen...and i dont get why we cant accept some things as just part of life. I’ve been a fan of Sabrina since I was like five and I adored her music as a kid. I still know every word of every single song off the Eyes Wide Open album. She influenced and inspired my love for music and it’s one of the reasons I’m a singer today. (Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus and Pentatonix also heavily influenced me as well) so no matter what I will always love Sabrina.

It's honestly possible that olivia was advised that saying anything about the situation would just inflame it even more, she was only 18 and didn't exactly plan for the song to blow up the way it did. the only way to really get something to stop in pop culture is to not give it the attention it's asking for. her fans were looking for validation and saying anything they might have twisted it one way or another and pushed it further. she did confirm that the songs were varied not everything was related to the love triangle. the best move they could make at this point i think is to do a collab.

I didn’t really follow the drama. From an outside perspective, it looked like typical teenage/young adult breakup drama that happens a lot. Olivia wrote songs about how she was feeling about the breakup, Sabrina wrote about how she was feeling and her frustrations. That’s what artists do, they use their feelings and experience, a breakup is great songwriting material, especially if it’s a first. Yes, it was all public to a huge audience, but ultimately it didn’t strike me any differently than any other breakup I would’ve seen in highschool or later friend groups. Their feeling are/were real, but ultimately won’t mean much later on. It is what it is and it’s sort of futile taking sides.

I have been stanning Sabrina since her first album. And the way she handled the Liv situation..was just so mature. She didnt tear another woman down over a guy. Even in her songs...the lyrics were pure and just reflecting her emotions. If i had to pick a side....id pick Sabrina. People are obsessed with picking sides when humanly things happen...and i dont get why we cant accept some things as just part of life. I dont mean to attack Liv...but my personal opinion is that she kinda did alot of damage to Sabrinas career through not speaking up for her....not just her career...but mental health as well. I’ve been a fan of Sabrina since I was like five and I adored her music as a kid. I still know every word of every single song off the Eyes Wide Open album. She influenced and inspired my love for music and it’s one of the reasons I’m a singer today. (Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus and Pentatonix also heavily influenced me as well) so no matter what I will always love Sabrina.

I really understand Olivia's perspective in the whole situation. It seems like it was her first real heartbreak and that's always a very tough thing for someone to go through. I didn’t really follow the drama. From an outside perspective, it looked like typical teenage/young adult breakup drama that happens a lot. Olivia wrote songs about how she was feeling about the breakup, Sabrina wrote about how she was feeling and her frustrations. That’s what artists do, they use their feelings and experience, a breakup is great songwriting material, especially if it’s a first.
Yes, it was all public to a huge audience, but ultimately it didn’t strike me any differently than any other breakup I would’ve seen in highschool or later friend groups. Their feeling are/were real, but ultimately won’t mean much later on. It is what it is and it’s sort of futile taking sides.

Olivia and Sabrina were both (former) Disney actresses who never made it super big, especially not as big as they are now. Nobody could've expected Olivia to blow up like she did with DL and with such a rabid fanbase like she has.

@@anti_fragile They have different labels. If you're up to date on PR stunts in the past, it's almost always kept within the same label to maximize profits. Also if you know anything about Island Records (Sabrina's label), they don't do shit to promote artists, so I can't really see a possibility of them bothering to make not only a PR stunt, but one in collaboration with another label.
Also, Sabrina's such a composed person but this situation fucked her up more than any of us can probably understand. And we know that because she had a mental breakdown on IG live during this time. This is the same girl that's been putting up a happy front and still has been for over 2 years now but Olivia's fans managed to break her. This is real life. Calling this is PR stunt is extremely disrespectful.
Olivia not only was the first to talk about the situation (so people already have a narrative against Sabrina and Joshua), but she also got a good label, so it makes sense how they were able to take her songs and market her to teenage girls as the victim in a love triangle. Beyond that, the producer/composer she works with on nearly every song is extremely talented, so no doubt the song's coming out catchy for teens. That's why it's so easily able to blow up. A victim narrative + being the first to talk + teen angst + a good label + a great producer + 2 very public targets to attack = a huge success story. There's really no need to put on tinfoil hats and claim it's all PR.

I think its because Im more closer in age to Sabrina Carpenter, I've listened to a lot of her songs ,i can remember the" cant blame a girl for tryin" era and I've been hooked ever since .. so I think shes handled it so well and she's killing it with all her songs

Aside from all this petty drama (which started with Drivers License...and to this day I can't believe how many people are so heavily invested in investigating 3 YOUNG people's personal lives, as if they have no lives of their own but OKAY)....
MUSIC WISE I prefer Sabrina. She's been in the industry for a longer time and has had more experience with her vocal timbre, which I love. Rock suits Liv so well, but I think she needs to develop more strength in her voice to really bring power (which could come with time, as she gets older - she's still young).
I get olivia so much! She was just writting her feelings and didnt even said anything bad about sabrina but when the fans hated sabrina and sent really mean comments and death threats but olivia didnt do anything..its bad...not to mention josh was in the hospital when that happened...
