There’s no doubt it’s easy to tell that you know what you your doing and others have shared some great knowledge also thank you so much for video, it’s made it so easy to fix my club with same problem, only deference was my club turned clock wise behind bearings as someone already chimed in GREAT VIDEO !!

The PTO pulley basket set screws were not tighten properly, and it came loose damaging the key way on the shaft !!!
MAKE SURE you tighten the set screw on the Key / Keyway TIGHT FIRST "" then the second sets screw " TIGHT without stripping the hex part of the set screws .
Double check both set screws making sure their tight .

I found the size of the key for the pulley..one quarter by one quarter square key...what a difference in the way it sounds....that rattling noise was driving me crazy

It is a helpful video...would be good to mention the size of key...and that there is a set screw on that eccentric collar also that has to be loosened...mine was stripped....had to drill it out..I will get the key size and post it on here

      Key size is a 1/4 inch X 1 inch

The collar eccentric will lock clockwise or counterclockwise, it depends on the person that installed it .
Anyway loosen the set screw and take a punch & hammer and tap it in both directions, you'll figure it out .

The solution to this not happening anymore is to tighten the Allen Screw in the basket that holds the key in the keyway on the shaft ( FIRST ) " torque it down really tight " then tighten the other basket Screw that actually bottoms out on the crankshaft .
What I normally do after tighten these screws is start the engine and run for about 10 minutes shut it off and let it cool down then try to retorque the key way Allen Screw ( FIRST ) then the other !

Having trouble taking out what seems to be a striped screw in the pto. Wish u didnt skip that part

If you have used a badly worn Allen Wrench and stripped the hex out of the screw your in trouble.
Depending on which screw your having trouble with " if it's the PTO screws and you get them all out except that one you may be able to take a block of wood and hammer and knock it off .
      Good luck .

I have a 108 and recently the clutch only engages when the pedal is pressed all the the way to the floor. When is does engage, it engages hard and is jumpy. What do you think is the matter with it? Thanks.

From what your saying I'd think the throw out bearing and teezer spring are shot !

You could buy a new crankshaft cheaper than a Machinist will charge you to repair tgat one .
And if i were guessing i bet the connecting rod is already knocking .
So just bite the bullet and rebuild the engine while your that far in it .

Sho Bud turned out this engine was already rebuilt, and board .010 over with new underside rod and ground crank. Ended up welding the crank key way and machining it and milling a new key way. I have access to a lathe and milling machine so it was free. But yes to pay someone it would be cheaper to get a new crank.

@@IHcubcadet no need to weld. just mill a new key way 90 or 180 degs from old one.

@@OldeGuido1 he had to weld to.put the material back on the crankshaft where the pulley/ basket was loose and wore the crankshaft down.
