I feel Nintendo intentionally made the Purah Pad "weaker" than the Sheikah Slate both as an in-universe explanation for the Sheikah technology been more advanced than the Zonai technology courtesy of the time loop allowing Mineru to get the basic idea of what one day would become the Sheikah Slate, and also to give players a reason to replay Breath of the Wild in order to enjoy all of the unique features its gameplay provides (eg: the slate abilities). All that said, great video!
There are two important plot related facts about the Purah Pad you neglected to mention. The Purah Pad is where Mineru's soul is resting in wait to help Link as the Sage of Spirit in the far future. @@Lucas-db2jq My question is, where did they teleport to? As far as I’m aware currently, none of the travel points her open. Did Zelda have a Travel Medallion on her that she placed at Rauru’s Castle at some point which she then retrieved before doing what she did?

such a cool video! I completely forgot I joined and was cracking up when you read my name during the mini games! How cool I've never had that experience before :)
I really liked both the slate and the pad pretty equally for their own unique uses throughout the titles. I like the evolution of Link from BOTW where the slate acted like a guide to help him with his recovery and provide a crutch when he needs it. And the pad in TOTK was more of a direct means of navigation since he's confident in the land of Hyrule again. Great commentary on the two!
@@OtakuUnitedStudio It wasn't included on either the official japanese Zelda timeline website and the Master Works artbook, so i would say that's explicit evidence for its non canonicity.
From a more practical point I prefer the slate over the pad. I own replicas of both, and the slate is much more sturdy and can be carried easily on your belt. Whereas the pad is very fragile and due to its size and shape doesn‘t fit in any of your pockets or pouch. (Unless you‘ve got a magical one like Link does. 😅) However you cannot carry the Zonai battery and the Sheikah slate at the same time. As the battery looks so cool. I prefer it as accessory, but then again you also need the arm… Cosplaying Link used to be much easier and cheaper in the old times. 😂
Great episode man, love it, sad that im one of those people who never got botw and never got to make funny tricks on objects and enemies for fun with the slate :( (the purah pad was fun btw)
I always loved the sheikah slate. The wii u is such an underrated console in general and especially compared to the switch. When totk was released, I was really disappointed that they changed it to the pad. I hate the switch cause its such a weak console that can only run games at 30fps, and I've always hated purah because she was annoying in BOTW. I also just think the slate looks better, and ties into the actual story and game mechanics better.
Did I miss anything interseting? Lemme know!

Wait, there is a bowling game in breath of the wild? How have I put 300+ hours into this game and not known this? 😅
There's one in totk too, I'm 300+ hours in that and still looking for koroks lol
Yes it’s in pondo lodge near to hebra tower but it’s destroyed in TOTK, probably because of the Upheaval.
they should have made an ancient sheikah sword called the Robbie rod
💀
Robbie actually made the Purah Pad, but Purah named it after herself anyway.
They both designed it, Robbie feels like his contributions are lost with the name.

Rauru as a "Navi" kind of companion would've been amazing

Excellent point. Now i wish something about link's character development made it into the script. Maybe when i get to doing runes vs arm abilities
You forgot Age of Calamity, where Zelda uses the slate for combat.
Age of Calamity is of dubious canonicity.
EDIT: Been watching too much Transformers content

To me the eye on the back of the Purah Pad looks like Purah’s eyes
I was not expecting this episode but I’m down
When zooming to the map with Sheikah slate, it take like half a second to render the map. Where the Purah pad take almost instant to render the map.

The Purah Pad is simply made for pictures and scanning and the Map, the Runes are not easy to replicate I guess
I never deleted Zelda’s photos in tears because you cannot ever get them back 😢

Anthony Robbie wanted to call it the Robbie Pad
I wonder where link stores the purah pad
I’m excited
Amazing - I'm actually worse in real life with 10-pin bowling.
The slate is better than the pad in terms of aiding Link for sure.
