Before you put the engine in, just put the plug in the boat, and use your water hose to fill it up above the floating water line. This way you can look on the outside of the hull to find leaks, and fix them before you put it all together and find out it leaks in the water.
Hey Catman I like the paint choice. Def unique. I watched Clay Hayes recently make a set of stalkasins out of a deer hide he tanned. Any chance you would take on something like that some day? The fat soap vid was cool too 👍 Thanks for the content buddy
Spent many hours on a hand built jet propulsion powered duck boat made in Minnesota. Testing on the Rum, River. Finally enjoying it in the lower Florida Keys. Life long memories. Enjoy your vessel. Oh, and stay out of the weeds. ✌️
Good job, well done A double row cup brush for a 4 1/2” disc grinder will cut your buffing, cleaning time in half. Double row not single row.. Looking forward to seeing it in the water. Hammer Down Catman
All the pop rivets you put in will leak water as they are not water tight. Boat rivets are made from solid aluminum and are hammered flat to seal them.
I just love the content and the jet boat series. Anyways keep up the great work. And much love to ya brother from Maryland❤❤❤ also wish the videos were alot longer. Cuz right when u get into it then it ends which sucks 😂😂😂
If you ever do another similar project pay to have the boat soda blasted instead of spending all that time messing with paint stripper and hitting with stripping wheels! The soda blasting will get it ultra clean and remove all possible oxidation pits
Hello great video. Love watching the videos. Have you thought about working under the red barn. Or building a roof area over where you are doing the videos at. Will you be doing any hunting videos on the jet boat.
Probably do some Rhino Lining on the inside of the boat . That will protect it from all those deer you'll be bringing back to The Landing during hunting season great video brother I really enjoyed this one and I can't wait to see the finished product @@catmanDIYoutdoors

Gotta love the can Bomb 💣 paint jobs 😂

If you ever open 5200 and don't use it all, chuck it in the freezer and it keeps it fresh.
Looks pretty cool. Can’t wait to see it in the water, with the water reflecting light onto it too!
The paint is AWESOME!!!!!
Really liking the paint job. Super cool.
Nice man! Its looking great. Can't wait to see the inside build and it on the water!
Paint is awesome. Can’t wait to see this in the water.
Look into some Gator Back for the bottom , protect the aluminum.??
Cool idea. Can't wait to see the finished product.
Looks like a dung beetle with that iridescent paint.😂
I think I would have water tested it BEFORE I painted it.
Enjoying your project.👍👍
Aluma bright will take aluminum down to bare aluminum instantly.
I was wondering why he was so aggressive with the grinder when a spray bottle would have done a better job.
Wow that's Nice work Brother I can wait to see more of this project.
Big thumbs 👍 up from Me.
Watching from South Carolina

With that paint job, they're going to have a hard time describing what color the boat is that blew by them 🤣
that's exatly what i was thinking like "WoW look a that green ... brown .... copper..... black... GREEN BOAT "
I'm doing a build with the same looking boat just a 12 foot. I used the tigershark ski as a donor. Paint job looks great, you make it look easy
I love this build!
Looking Nice !
Thank You for sharing your video .
Great job... looks good
I can’t wait to see this project on the water.
What a great series!
That looks great!!
They sell sand blaster attachments for your pressure washer. That should help in stripping in the future.
Looks great Mr zahn!
Now that's a cool paint job.
But FYI, seen several people using bed liner paint to paint the bottom of boats for added durability
That’s an awful idea. You want a smooth surface in the bottom of your boat.
not if your looking for something tuff. Its not a airboat or mudboat and he isnt looking for speed. @@christophertibbetts2458
Cool paint!
Love the build so far but you are definitely going to have to cut that center rib way up further, it’s going to cause cavitation
now throw a net over it and do a light mist of black on it. should look like a giant fishing lure
Throw the 5200 in the fridge raider it won’t get hard. You can continue to keep using it. I do it all the time. Keep it for months.

Muratic acid is a good etching product for the aluminum

No room under the red barn and the other barn is too dusty, unfortunately
@@catmanDIYoutdoors I understand that thanks for responding back.
About how many prep pads did you run through while buffering all the paint off?
Nice choice on the paint. What are you thinking about for interior paint?
I’m not sure yet, something more simple

Great video but how much does it rain there 🤣🤣
I’d take the time to put some good wax on it once 5ye paint fully cures…👌
Those new tips suck on spray cans, they need to go back to the blue adjustable fan tips
Should of painted the whole bottom it could of help stop leaking
Put the open 5200 in a ziplock, then stick it in your freezer
Not a fan of that paint or paint job. Sorry. Not for a boat.
