      The 911 Targa GTS is pretty awesome even though it’s heavier than the Carrera 4 GTS cabriolet.

    The 991.2 lump is an absolute masterpiece. I've never been near one but even through youtube videos you can tell its absolutely ballistic all the way up to 9k.

    Great production. Completely agree that the 991.2 GT3 was the sweet spot in the range. Takes a very good driver to show the relatively small difference between this and a RS on track as well.

    As you’ve summed up very nicely, the GT3 deserves its reputation… And that sound 😋! The only caveat in my opinion, is you really need to have decent roads (and preferably a nice track!) in your area to truly appreciate this masterpiece.

    I can just imagine sitting on one of those hills and hearing that glorious noise down the road... This is an amazing Porsche, the engineering in this car is just on another level. Great video Matt 👍🏻

    This Porsche GT3 with the PDK, I couldn't agree more it's flawless. That exhaust system just brings the true rawness of GT3 alive. This version with the 4.0 just brought more poise and performance. An absolute Riot🤟

      The GT3 that was PDK only was the 3.8 - 991.1, this is obviously the 991.2 with the 4.0 engine, came with manual and PDK on launch

    I've always preferred the GT3 over the RS. The RS looks overdone, the GT3's body flows beautifully - and the weight reduction is functional, you can still live with it on a daily basis

    Life is never the same again for a car buff once you drive a GT3 or RS in anger - all else is "meh, it's ok" - anticlimax.

    Wonderful and spot on video/review! I might then starting to grow old because I’m struggling to grasp why anyone would replace that balanced and wonderful exhaust system. I am fortunate enough to own a gt silver 2018 and after spending 300 km behind the wheel of this masterpiece of a car I am sooo happy and content with the stock system. I tend to prefer the open valve mode most of the time but that’s it, that’s more than enough for me. I have driven 991’s that are louder and it do gets a bit exhausting. But like I said, I might starting to get old 😉

    Epic car. As a roadcar I'd go for a standard car with a manual box. Standard seats for comfort and long distance touring. And definitely not the Clubsport pack. The ideal would be a Standard Touring model..

    I'd have myself a tasty manual version notwithstanding the fact that Double clutch is still marvellous. I'm inclined to think the PDK is only good if you care about lap times and that soft of stuff.

    GT3 is the all rounder imo. Just as good on the road as it is on the track. Call it sacrilege, but I feel the RS models are maybe a bit too much for the road. Plus you get the choice of manual or auto with the GT3 (excluding 991.1)

    Great car. I've had a 996 & 997 GT3 which were both awesome. I prefer manual to pdk but the pdk is probably the best of its type and Porsche have stuck with a high revving normally aspirated engine unlike their Ferrari and Mclaren competitors.

    My dream car has always been the 997 GT3. There really is no need for the RS unless you are chasing lap times or want more attention. And if more power is desired well that’s what the turbo/turbo S are for lol.

    I prefer the look and concept of the GT3 over the 3 RS. I would never go on track or be anywhere near one, so the GT3 would be the perfect car for a weekend trip.

    That one there with a manual is peak GT3 for me. I know the new one is faster and has the double wishbones up front but I like everything about the 991.2 GT3. A touring would work for me too.

    The sound, size, grip, looks, all weather capability etc...
    (I'm having a 991.2 Turbo S but willing to switch anytime 😊)

    Porsche figured out that GT3 owners are looking for the unmatched experience of driving. The 6MT gearbox adds that emotional touch you mention that is lacking. Love my 2018 GT3 6MT.

    I have one in blood red Carmine, comfort spec, love it, comfortable race car 😍 I also have a 3RS which is ridiculous really, the GT3 was the one to go but just couldn't part with it. It's now at Porsche East London 🙁 but after watching this video.........😰

      997.2… more special, less refined, lower production numbers. A lot harsher than the 991 tho but if you are looking for a visceral weekend toy that feels special the 997.2 will be that car.

    To be completely frank here: I think the best GT3 is the 991 with the upgraded Infotainment system so it has carplay.
    I really like the front end design of the Gen 1 - reminds me of the Carrera GT-
    I'd only go for the 991.2 if it has the touring package. So basically the 911R

    I think if I am going to get a PDK GT3 I’ll probably get a 991.1 the 4.0 is amazing but honestly the 3.8 with 475 is plenty quick as it is. The .1 is by far the better value than the .2 if you are not chasing the manual gearbox or the last 1/10th second lap time

    If the base GT3, it HAS to be a manual, the whole and only reason to go GT3 over the GT3 RS.

    GT3 RS Weissach and GT2 RS? ? I mean in the end it’s still only a package and the ones without the OPF in the UK (which probably are more desirable) are without the W-pack. I don’t think the GT3 is being underestimated in any way too

    It's pretty much an rs without the aero and 20hp less. Rs is just hype it's not night and day compared to this.

      well not really..
      yes GT has less power & a lower RPM limit, a different front rear bumpers & apron, different suspension, a lower price tag.... however the Porsche lie up is kinda
      expect good & get great, expect fast & get incredibly etc
      The 'R' is ALL hype, made around false rumours of no more manual gearbox's & how wrong were the ppl making those claims.. as months later "before the 'R' was created the manual optioned carrera 2s or 4/T "which ever was reported to have a manual option.. & yet ppl still hyped the R up making it something it really isn't.
      I'd only wish Porsche make less model choices, with further diversity.. as I was about to say "if you look hard enough you'll find a Porsche toilet & well you actually can get a Porsche toilet & even tooth brush" anyway, there's just too many options of ultimately the same car.
      & I love the porsche models

      however the r is still special with the 991.1 gt3rs engine and a manual gearbox + the magnesium roof, 100kg less weight than a gt3 touring, rear side windows and rear window are acryl and not glass, carbon bonnet and fenders, lighter flywheel, so its actually a big difference....
      just drive them back to back and you will see why its special ;)

      @@HustlerTrickipedia titanium exhaust, the bonnet & boot lid is also carbon fibre... anyway the wings are standard not carbon as per 997 GT2 RS ie the R
      the 3rs has carbon wings, bonnet, mag roof & titanium exhaust etc..
      anyway.
      The R is over hyped.. as its basically a budget RS only with a manual gearbox, & other options removed etc
      the issue I'm referring to is the Carrera T is good & rapid, then you jump to the turbo/s & again performance & handling has improved, you then go to the RS & 3RS & its a much harsher ride out the box performance is reduced due to N/A. you then look at the 2RS & its better still... however your still driving fundamentally the same car.
      porsche have "what!" 10 different 911 models o offer ontop of the other models (not going there)

      I've probably misses some, anyway there's no real huge leap between the models just like the EV brands, we've got 4 different Taycan's with an estate version due shortly, with probably several versions of that on-top.
      for the 911 range its abit OTT

      Different bodies too, the GT3 is Carrera wide body, 3RS is Turbo S body

      No, I think you guys got it all wrong. The main difference between them is that the GT3 RSR is considered mid-engine and not rear engine like the GT3 Cup, R, and RS.
