The ringtone volume is too quiet when calling my mother-in-law who is hard of hearing. When the family call her via messenger to her portal she cannot hear it ringing - do you know how this can be made louder, it does seem very quiet? I have tried adjusting the volume and the alarm volume on the Portal and it makes no difference to the ringtone.
That's a good question, I can't check for sure but I would think their might be a setting for ring volume in the settings? Also try making a test call and have them press the volume + button while ringing but before answering- hopefully that will help increase the ringer volume instead of the general volume. If not, it might be an oversight in design...thanks for your question.
I came home today and saw that my portal was showing the background images, date, and time completely sideways. Even when I opened the apps, everything was shown sideways and wouldn't orientate itself to a landscape mode. I even tried a factory reset and that didn't fix the problem. I don't really want to hold my portal vertically and preferred it laying horizontally on my island. Anyone have thoughts on a fix to this.

Try this: To factory reset the Portal, for another user, the instructions are below: From the Portal home screen, swipe left and select Settings Scroll down and tap Factory Reset. The system may ask for a passcode generated on your facebook account on another device. Follow the directions and it should proceed.

I wish you had a closer screen shot. You also went too fast.
