Hi Tom! I too went thru a big process before buying the Dake, I can honestly say it has been one of my favorite purchases for the shop. It has paid for itself 5 times over for me and it is just such a fun tool to use. Who doesn't love crushing stuff? =D One thing I would suggest, move the pump piston next to the Dake and keep it horizontal. The pumping action is so much better and more ergonomic. I only had to move my piston over once years back for a certain job but other then that is stays centered. If you don't have enough room to put the handle next to the press you can just buy a piece of 3/4 ply and place it over the toolbox. I love the color and the new improved emblem!!!!!! Awesome!

Seeing that the hydrologic pump is movable, now you can use your new welder to make a table beside the dake to Mount it to. I would think having the part of the handle you grab facing you and then pumping up and down would be better then pumping left and right. Enjoy your new tool. Good choice. That dake will outlive any of those harbor freight models, and letting a few tools go to bring that into your shop will be totally worth it. I’m happy for you and a little jealous. Have fun with it.
Tom I just purchased this press. I used the 10% discount plus points from my credit card and the press only cost me $113. Thanks for the video, this directed me to a very well priced Press . Now I need to find a place to set it up. I am restoring a 1979 CJ7 frame off restoration or rebuild. This will help for sure. Thanks for sharing this
Dang Tom! That thing is super sweet!! You’re going to have the nicest garage shop in the whole state. I thought you made good decisions on what you got rid of, and for keeping that really cool stand. Good tips on the set up. I’ve been wanting to get one for a while and I think you’re right about the quality but anything bigger than what you got is cost prohibitive for sure. Take care 😃👍🏼
That Dake appears to be a big step up from the harbor freight knockoffs. You should have come out Pretty good on selling the older tools. Thanks for sharing

Hey Tom I was just going nuts looking for sk and proto indexing head prybars sk you can find the 3 piece set and a few 36 inch but no 24" I saw them one place but it looks like a scam site then I looked at proto they are the same way and called them they are still producing the smaller 3 and the 36" but no 24" I would really like to know who makes them and why they would quit making the 24"
Thing looks great Tom. From the pictures you've showed it looks every dollar worth better then the bottle jack ones (the welds on those). I was always under the impression all Dakes were US made. Guess that not today's world anymore..
I wanted to pick one of these up for doing atv bearings/car stuff. Great video man looks like a nice press, where did you grab this and how much did it cost? Thanks

@@TomGunnTools yeah, I like the press and use it every day, just have to have shop rags sitting there. Maybe I got a defective one. Mine is the blue and grey color, not black so maybe they changed something. Thanks for your videos!

That hydraulic pump looks like a porta power if it is you could buy porta power attachments and have another tool setup that is multifunctional

I got the Harbor Freight 6 ton benchtop and I've been unhappy with it. It works fine but you cant fit alot of stuff in the opening.

I have one, the piston leaked really bad. Had the seals replaced, still leaks really bad. Works, but it’s a mess.

A warning; the return spring broke during my third use. There is a TH-cam video on how to replace it. It will be necessary to watch it.

I don't care for the poor quality Harbor Freight floor-jacks, bottle jacks, and presses. The Dake looks like a much higher quality unit.

You can never have too many chunks of steel of various shapes and sizes with a press.
