It would appear that the missing o rings on the carbs caused a lean condition which resulted in detonation and piston damage man that's a bummer for the previous owner !! Hope the shop that rebuilt the engine was contacted... Great video I really enjoyed it good Job

Those Yamaha oil injection pumps basically never go out. The engine was probably running lean due to the missing gaskets on the carbs

Witch puller you have need for a Yamaha outboard motor? Is it allround or a special one?
I would try a flywheel puller that you can rent for free at O'Reilly's or Autozone. Personally I wouldn't recommend using air tools on it. You can strip out the threaded center bolt. Just use a ratchet with a socket and a pry bar between the center bolt and the puller arm. Or put a rope in the spark plug hole. A steering wheel puller works on some flywheels that have threaded holes. Tighten it some then tap on the center bolt like he did in the video. No need to smash it to hard. Watch out sometimes they come flying off.

which gasket? the base gasket i assume?

My engine was overheated, the white smoke came out from two holes exhaust, I went to the shop, they said, I need to change the powerhead gasket.
+Eric C no you do not have to remove the flywheel. You have to remove the bolts that are holding the powerhead and you might have to disconnect a few items such as hoses and linkages

I took off 11 mounting bolts from the bottom, and the powerhead is loosing, however, I still can not take the powerhead off. Seems something is connecting. Don't know what that is. My motor is 75hp yamaha 2 strock..

You should have no problem parting that out. Missing gaskets and bolts, buddy got bent over at the marine shop only to have a burned out piston. Those oiler systems are junk.
And I thought Yamaha had a good oil injection system?
It does. It was probably operator error. This kid does not know what he is doing. The first thing he should have done was pull the head and water jacket covers off and that would have told him most of the story and to say that it was the oil injection was the problem is a total crock.
