Overall, this is a great tutorial and very short for the amount of content you cover. Awesome work!
Just a few minor corrections for very common misconceptions:
1. 13:01 "NVENC (new)" is unrelated to the RTX NVENC enhancements. The "(new)" option is entirely an optimization on the OBS side - essentially, rather than copying frames from the GPU (rendering) to RAM, then back to the GPU (encoding on a separate chip), "(new)" skips the copy to RAM, improving latency and performance (especially less PCIe bandwidth). Note: this enhancement is automatically *disabled* when you enable "Rescale Output" in the Output tab like in 13:35.
2. 13:07 NVENC has been on its own separate chip on the GPU since.. probably forever? A while, at least. The enhancements in the 20 series and 30 series RTX GPUs are purely hardware, driver and SDK improvements to the existing chip, resulting in better efficency and better quality. This means even if you're running a card that is a few generations old, you're still getting the benefit of encoding occurring separately from rendering.
3. 13:35 Important note that Rescale Output in the Output tab, while useful for something like different resolutions in streaming vs recording, is done on the CPU, whereas Rescale Output in the Video tab is done on the GPU (earlier in the process, essentially). This does mean it can result in a performance hit from sending frames from GPU (rendering) -> CPU (rescale) -> GPU (encoding).
4. 14:45 Bitrate has almost zero effect on computer resources (CPU/GPU) and is only really affected by network bandwidth. A lower-end PC will not benefit from changing away from CBR. Additionally, CBR is almost always required by streaming services - CBR provides a consistent value that video *players* can expect on the viewer's end and will mean less buffering in cases where you go from a low complexity scene (menu) to a high complexity scene (grass).
5. 17:36 *Never* use CBR for recordings. By using CBR, you'll have files that are both a) unnecessarily large, as less complicated scenes will have too high a bitrate and b) have potentially bad quality in complex scenes, as you're capping the maximum bitrate. CQP/CRF is the way to go. For Simple output mode we use 23 for "High quality" and 16 for "indistinguishable". These quality-based rate controls mean rather than targeting an arbitrary bitrate, you're targeting "how you want it to look."

Thanks again so much for the in-depth guide. My only suggestion if you end up making a newer version of this is to add some highlights about which computer I should be working on in a dual-PC setup. I'm going to jump back into your other videos on this topic to double-check my work, but there were a few times in this video I wasn't completely confident about whether the I should be on my gaming PC OBS or the streaming PC OBS (although you've taught me so well via the other videos I think I did it correctly!). but if I'm recording an area on my 2nd Display (monitor), is there a way for myself to see the area that's being recorded (on the 2nd display)?

Hi, I can't see the encoder NVIDIA NVENC H.264 (new)... I can only see NVIDIA NVENC H.264. My OBS Studio version is 28.0.1, did they removed one of the NVENC? Thanks
Some computers do not support it.
