Hey this is a great intro. Thanks so much for including recording as well as live streaming. I'm hoping to record my screen for the purposes of tutorials, tips and trips etc. etc. as well as for varoius other personal use so it's great that I can find something open source and also find a good introduction.
Love the style. Great content and I'm learning a ton about OBS. Struggled a lot with the quality of recording and burying my CPU so I really appreciate the tips you have here!
I started with SLOBS and recently (and thanks to your videos) i moved everything to OBS Studio, it's super easy to use

Was given a link to one channel that talked a bit about OBS. However, I've enjoyed watching Michael Feyrer Jr.'s vids, and watch many of them repeatedly to get a better grasp of what the possibilities are. Looks like it'll be great for my gaming and publishing uses!

Thank you for this great content, I’m looking to use OBS for live streaming to social media platforms about my Tarantulas, I’ve been using my iPhone with TikTok live but it’s not easy so I’ve been looking at various options and found your video and I’m glad I did, new laptop coming soon that should handle OBS no problem and can’t wait to start live streaming again 👍🫶

I became a filmmaker, but I'm more of a story teller, and I use video to show and explain my color-associations to the musical scale, and how it seems to relate almost magically music theory. That being said, I am just completely blown-away by how certain people have completely and utterly MASTERED the art of film & video editing (as per the intro to Michael Feyer's video here). The shifting graphics and text. The "swoosh" sound effect when an image moves. I'm slightly intimidated! Good work. Great Vid. Been using streamlabs,and having problems..so am going to try obs Studio,and your guide should make it fairly easy! Seems similar to streamlabs,but looks way better! I do live music streams from my home studio! Thanks Mate..Rock On!!
Your instructions are clear and easy to understand. A rarity! I hope to find such clear teaching on how to route my audio (mic) thru OBS and into Zoom. The Virtual Audio Cable plugins did not work on my Mac Pro. Such a nightmare. Maybe Loopback?

My husband uses it mainly for his radio shows but I stream games on my PS5 so I want to figure out a better way to stream
I'm going to be using it the game capture my gameplay on going to be using it with the gaming
I've been using OBS daily since xmas. I have time on my hands so I've watched many of your tutorials tho my plans currently don't include live streaming. Is there a way to mask a video source with text? I thought I could with a dynamic mask using a text source as the mask, but no. My current workaround is to create a png image of the text and using it as an image mask/blend to accomplish my objective. Is there an alternative to my approach? I don't understand the dynamic mask.
Your videos are the best. I've seen the last 2 live streams tho topics are typically concerning live stream features. What I find fascinating is how you move through OBS presenting your scenes and sources turning nobs, switches and dials moving through a very smooth presentation AND talk at the same time.:) Great work.
I think you could do it as a dynamic mask! Just set the text to black and the text background to the green screen color. I’ll test it out and see. :-)
@@MichaelFeyrerJr I had no luck with that but my image mask works great. I always watch - pause your videos then do it in OBS. I gotta now get my head into stingers. Thanks

Hello, enjoyed your intro vidéo and have a question. Long story short, I inherited being in charge of videos for a rock show. The fellow that quit used Resolume. I don't have that type of buget so I use the tools I have and know. The techs almost laugh at me with my PowerPoint. I do really well with it but the issue is that it takes alot of juice. My slides are about 8MG per music set. That takes alot of juice. Since I am not streaming, I am presenting, ils OBS Studio the right tool for me to spend time to learn ? PS: some of my videos have sound as they are clips of interviews, others don't have sound. Thanks for you input.

Awesome video. I'm looking to use OBS for live streaming and podcasting. Only problem I'm having is when I downloaded OBS and installed it. It wouldn't launch. I keep getting a pop up saying 'obs .dll not found'. Is there a solution for this? Is it something I'm missing?
I've used Camtasia for years to create educational tutorials on career development topic. Basically, recording my screen with voice over. I have arrows point to things, transitions, animations, etc. I was going to try Davinci resolve until I found out that is not a screen recorder. Could I do everything that I mentioned with just OBS? Thank you
Recording, voice over and transitions yes. The arrows could probably be done too with pre made animations but there is no tool like that to do it on the fly with OBS. Prism live studio has a tool that will let you draw on screen in real time though, and has all the same features as OBS. Its basicly just a fork of OBS so it works almost the same. It is also free.

Hi there. My name is Joyce, and I am a definite "newbie" with streaming for my soon TH-cam podcast. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with me and others. It's really informational and straightforward.
However, I have some questions, please. I will be using a lapel mic. It will be plugged into my computer. I will also be using a 4K HDMI to USB 3.0 Video Capture Card 1080P, which will be plugged into my Canon EOS R10 camera. This way, I can get unlimited video recording time. Now, I will be incorporating the OBS software into the mix.
1) For the mic setting with the OBS software, will I still use the headphones setting, using a lapel mic?
2) Will or can ALL my editing be done in the OBS software platform ... or should I do it in Canva and then import it to OBS for final editing?
Please advise ... and thanks so much.
I use Canva pro too... I'm trying to figure out what I can do in both platforms, jointly or independently. Did you figure anything out yet regarding your question?

Can you possibly do a video getting into more detail about setting up audio for recording? I've spent the last two days in OBS using it to record, then editing the MP4s in Premiere pro. Audio has driven me nuts. with a long list of "gotchas". I've figured out a lot of things, except for recorded audio. I've spent a couple of years as a voice actor, and have a lot of experience dealing with noise, room echo, clipping, etc. in recordings. For some reason OBS seems tougher to work with than Audacity or Adobe Audition. Mostly echo and clipping, or the OBS audio not sounding clear and crisp compared to recording in other software. I've avoided using the mic on my Logitech 910 web cam, and instead have tried: MXL 991, MXL 990, and Sennheiser e835 through a Behringer UMC204HD; Comica BoomX-D Lav mic through computer mic input and UMC204HD; and Audio-Technica ATR2500-USB. Does OBS just work better with the mic on web cams?

Is there a way to do voice overs? How would that work? I’ve come across more issues with audio than visual. Not sure y. N is there a way to record in the dark clearly no lights!
i see you doing the snap test for audio pickup, am i trying for too much if my snap test is more of a finger rub? i.e. "the smallest violin in the world" joke where thumb and forefinger are moving back and forth, but no actual snap sound. is that too much?i am not trying to be the streamer that wants someone to hear a mouse pissing on cotton.

I am not sure how I did it but I somehow have stream elements integrated in with my obs software. It has the TH-cam chat box already up but I'm stuck at this point! I can't figure out an easy way for overlays! Should I somehow disconnect the stream elements from my obs? I'm trying!!!!
I got it figured out. I had to delete my Streamelements Live . Now I'm back on OBS original. W ishat is my next step?

of first view on this chanel.. some honest feedback.. your content is good.. your explanations are good.. would i come back yes.... but in 'my' opinion (which wouldnt sway me its just take or leave feedback). I think you try too hard to sound interesting.. too much head wobbling, no blinking..serious looking, you come off nervous and not comfortable doing this. ..wait for it.... WHILE the cameras are on you... then when you do the actual tutorial parts when you are not showing on cam.. its like another person. listen to your voice change when you are doing your thing no pressue on camera.. it barely sounds the same.. you talk like you would talk in reality, like you would at home having a bbq and a beer. then the camera is on again and you sound like somebody on a late night ad trying to sell me something with an extra knife set thrown in... Be yourself.. like the non camera you. while you are on camera.. ... thats it.. apart from that.. content is great... this is not a go at you or attack.. its just honest constuctive criticism .. i wouldn't bother normally but i think fine tuning that you will get more ppl in .. anyway good luck.. keep up the good work.

I've not looked at all your vids yet have you found a replacement for that.. its strange how snapchat can master it but nothing out there similar?
Anyway I do really like your videos regardless of what I said..they are well done and worth the sub, I have many more to watch.. I really like your videos and appreciate that you put them together and post. I'm new to OBS, leaving ecamm after their price increase, so some things are not working the way I thought they should. One thing is the Virtual Camera. When I choose this when in ZOOM, my whole studio view comes up. I thought it would work like ecamm where the audience would only see the active scene. Am I missing something? I would really appreciate help.

I have wide screen monitor and I need to know how I can reduce the back ground area as same as the video only size. not the full monitor size but like browser video only area. Is that possible? I want to screen record a live virtual interview, most likely using ms teams for the interview. What's best to screen record? Canva pro or osb studio? I would like to be able to switch to the speaker camera at times, so not just record both of us on the screen at the same time, all the time. That would visually get a bit boring. What would be best to do this out of Canva pro and obs studio?
