I am, took me 3 different download and attempts with failure after failure. This or that wouldnt record, audio was poop, and i watched a tutorial on how to record 3 sources with a plug in and voila, i got 6 hours of content recorded to fill my next 2 weeks of uploads!! (I upload monday, thursday and saturday). Once i got obs dialed, ill never use another recording application again.

By far the best and most informative OBS beginners tutorial I’ve seen so far. Been watching his tutorials and walkthroughs quite some time now. His skills in presentation, but even more pedagogical, is improving so much. Just love the way he constantly just drops in usefull tips and tricks.

This seriously helped me get started with being able to get my overlay and OBS set up. I commissioned a gaming overlay for twitch a couple years ago but the pandemic messed up my plans and now that I have had some time to recoup and reevaluate I am ready to get started. I needed help trying to understand how to crop my video into the over lay and I am excited to put it to the test. If anyone is into Ragnarok Online my brand will be starting a stream/recording of my gameplays. Stay tuned!

@@CelestialCascadeCoding - OBS has been around for 10 years. I have been following it for at least 4 years, and I know lots of streamers who use OBS. You could pay hundreds to a couple thousand dollars to buy something else, IF you want to.

This is a very helpful video, he explains it well and gives people enough time to catch up if their behind. And the fact that he has pinpoints for the certain spots is AMAZINGLY helpful. Overall i would prefer him to explain almost anything because he's really good at it! Good job Kevin.
Thank you. I bought a screen capture device for recording my online classes. I had no idea how to use it and expected instructions with the device. The advertisement said no drivers needed. It was stand alone. The documentation provided was some electrical warnings and some pictures of how to hook it up. I had never heard of OBS software. Needless to say the device did not work. I did not even have sound through my speakers.
Your video showed me how to use this. I am not interested in streaming anything but recording, yes. It worked. I tested by recording around 30 seconds of a Netflix show, I did not even look at what I was using to test. I stopped recording. I went to where the file was written. I played it. Again it worked. Great great help. I am sure if you did as well for the uses for making material as you did for recording the new users in that arena will be just as happy. Oh and .mkv plays without remux in VLC.
After going through your shortcut tutorial and now OBS, I see myself being full-time youtuber soon. Thanks a bunch.

As usual he is fantastic. Includes so much of information in one video. May be for the sake of this, he avoids the speech modulation which makes it just a bit on the verge of boredom. However, credit goes to him that the technical information that he includes are of such great quality, one remains stuck to the video till last. And for me I have to almost always repeat the video to grasp the subject fully. Great man - Thumbs up

Hey Kevin! Thanks for all the tutorials. I am interested in learning how to record using my monitor/desktop/or windows as a background. I am a teacher, but want to elevate my students' and families' experiences as I record or present over slide shows or any other program. I want to avoid the rectangular frame around me and take advantage of green screen (virtual or otherwise). Thanks again.
