    I love that you covered how easy it is to grow Moringa from seed. The ones at the nurseries probably wouldn’t grow as well either. I’ve heard they can be stunted if they’re kept in pots for too long.
    We had a very similar experience growing Moringa here in urban Tucson too. I think some of ours might be close to 20’. I can’t believe how fast these trees can grow. Almost kudzu-like.

      I agree, thanks for commenting. I cant help but smile when I see them for sale at garden shops. They grow so much better and so easy in the ground. Just press seeds into the ground and forget about them.

    Plus we had the monsoon rains that would have helped tremendously

    Thank you for this, I was just wondering what the tall tree was in my yard. We trimmed it and it grew back fast. I’m cutting most of it down because it’s not in an ideal spot.

      it might be a moringa but its more likely a palo verde; if it has thorns.

      @@thechaosgardener the compound leaves made me think it was the same tree I had in my backyard so I went to take a look. Maybe you can help me identify it, I tried looking it up but couldn’t find a picture that looked exactly like mine. The leaves on the tree are tiny bipinnate compound style leaves and it’s a young tree that already about 8-10 get tall. The closest I could find that had very similar leaves was the honey locust, but I’m almost certain that’s not it based on other things I read. Thank you so much for your help.

      Sorry just was your reply. For some reason I’m not getting notifications. I’m not sure based on the description. Kinda reminds me of mesquite but I’d have to see to know for sure

    I started mine from seed in June and it is now 6.5 feet tall. I have heard people say they don’t transplant well, and are less drought resistant if started in a pot.

      Thats correct, even though moringa isnt technically a legume it still creates symbiotic relationships with soil fungi and those relationships are critical for growth. You cannot form those in a pot.

    • @thechaosgardener
      @thechaosgardener  ปีที่แล้ว

      It started as desert dirt. I used clover and woodchips to heal the soil

      @@thechaosgardener Any Moringa Seed or do I need a seed from one grown in the desert not in Florida?

    • @thechaosgardener
      @thechaosgardener  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@conspiracytherapist2473 I would recommend planting 10 or more and then selecting the individuals that do the best in your climate. Some will do better in your particular set of climate variables. Each seed will be different. Best of luck! Let me know how it goes. I think you can purchase a pack of 1000 seeds for like $10
