In terms of Alya's relationship with Lila: I think a big problem some people have is that Alya now knows Ladybug's identity, which means it's obvious to her that Lila lied about being friends with Ladybug. I completely get that Lila needs to be able to manipulate people successfully, but for Alya specifically to still be fooled at this stage makes her seem incredibly dumb
Exactly this. Even before the identity reveal, Alya was just way too smart and observant of a person for me to believe that she wouldn't have a problem with Lila. She has even LESS of an excuse to be out of the loop now that she knows Marinette and Ladybug are the same person! I can see the rest of the class being weird about Mari being so closed off to Lila, even Nino, but not Alya. It seems like Adrien is the only one who ever backs her up in her discomfort and distrust, but never directly, and he's a bit too much of a doormat to truly say no to anyone, especially not someone who is pulling the strings of his entire school. The writers are hammering home on the "Marinette is being collectively gaslit and abused by the manipulation of Lila and that's what makes her one of the top villains of the series and a likely successor to Gabriel as the user of the butterfly miraculous" but they're taking it so far that the characters don't make sense anymore.
The problem with the Alya and Lila stuff is that one of the lies Lila told was that she was BFFs with Ladybug. Alya should realise that's bullshit (for obvius reasons) and thus Lila can't be trusted.
Also: Didn't Adrien noticed in one of the previous seasons, that Lila is a liar? I don't know the episode anymore, but i remember, that Mari sat on the school stairs, he came to her and they had a normal conversation about what a ugly liar Lila is. And now Adrien is ok with Lila joining a secret club to reveal Monarchs identity?
I have.... No idea why they would trust Lila. Seriously, do NONE of them remember what she did to Marinette? I wouldn't trust someone who literally almost got a friend expelled all because of her lies. Like, seriously?
Ikr? It made me so mad when alya went stupid to say there was no way to even prove Lila was the one who framed Marinette...../GIRL LILA WAS THE ONE WHO MADE ALL THESE ACCUSATIONS WHAT DO YOU MEAN?/
I totally agree. I can understand why everyone else trusts her tho cuz they for some reason still believe Lila’s ridiculously stupid lies, but why is Alya trusting her? She now knows Lila was lying about knowing Ladybug, so why does she still trust her!?
I’ve been loving the new writing style on the episodes recently. It feels like they really decided that every episode would have a major (or even season-changing) event. As much as the last week gave me heart attacks, it was because the episodes were good instead of just being filler
@@dragonempress8367 ok. It’s not perfect, but compare it to seasons 1-4. They’re actually doing the plot progressions that should have happened seasons ago
that might be the very reason He looses so often. He's corrupted the miraculous's purpose and So Karma sets in to ensure He has a hell of a time actually winning anything, lol.
Honestly true. Gabriel’s only net gains were the rest of the Miraculouses, and he only gained those due to a complete fluke and Felix’s own conniving goals.
*Gabe:* I have launched a nuclear missile that will destroy Paris and there’s nothing you can do to stop it, give the miraculous and I will defuse the bom- *Marinette:* I used the lucky charms to make a trampoline sending the missile to space. *Gabe:* Wait wha- no! That’s not gonna work! You thing a measly trampoline is gonna stop a nuke!? *Marinette:* I have plot armour, there is absolutely nothing to can do to beat me!
3:47 I can imagine this being a trauma that Gabriel himself would have caused Adrien if they had the courage to explore this in the show, Adrien would have stopped saying that his mother is gone/dead because his father would explode with rage just like in the episode Félix, he would definitely do the same thing the first time Adrien said something about Emilie being dead and the poor boy would have to get used to saying she disappeared just to not piss off his father again...
@@wlfecipse5751 Technically speaking, everybody thinks she is dead and the way Gabriel and Nathalie behave implies that she might never wake up from her comatose state without the ladybug and cat miraculous which can alter reality. So she's practically dead.
It's episodes like this that make me wish this show had more villains. And I don't mean the villains that Gabriel creates, I mean villains that aren't working for Gabriel and act on their own like Felix. I say this because it's hard to make your main villain come off as a threat when he's losing in every single episode.
Yes, This is true. or at least give Monarch a team of villains he can send out to do work. that way you can pit failure on them and not the Big Bad every time. it worked fine in plenty of other shows like Sailor moon and such. Where they'd defeat Monsters on a day to day basis and occasionally defeat the Underlings of the Big Bad, who we can reasonably assume aren't as good as the big bad, so when the Big Bad decides They can't afford any more losses they can have a big win that puts the heroes on the Backfoot. Monarch just looses every single episode, due to his super villains being emotionally unstable at best and veering off course to pursue their own objectives and he can't really control them beyond a little pain here and there. Some of them are so dangerous they turn on Monarch. Unless of course they need to pull a cover for His identify to throw off the Heroes, then He wins.
Apparently the only villains I can think of besides hawk month/shadow month/monarch natile/marra and the akumtizied villains are Felix chole and Lila I mean seriously why did they Marinette need 2 biggest enimes? And Felix is just the male version of chole
What about the police that was chasing Master Fu and Marrianne during his flashback? Why were they chasing after Master Fu Maybe they could be some sort of villain organization
I still cant justify how Alya still trust Lila. Forget about her knowing Lila lied about being bff with LB, Lila is the reason Marinette got expelled momentarily. Girl, your bff got expelled bcs of her! Hello? You okay there?! Also, the audacity Nino had to force his bff to get his own dad akumatized? Dude, thats messed up, even if Gabe is messed up, thats messed up. Why not try with Chloe first? She's an easy prey too, and she hates everyone by default, so pissing her off won't change a thing
Chole actually isn't a good choice anymore. Penalteam indicated She's become fairly disillusioned with Monrach and His powers and She's actively rejected His gift of powers on like 2 or 3 occasions through Her own sheer willpower. She's become a difficult option for Monarch to work with and He's better off leaving Her be even if She's having a really bad day.
@@everythinggirly916 no honestly not from adrien's pov, gabe is awful and controlling and Nino even pointed out that it seems more like gabe is being nice for the publicity - Even if he was enjoying the new kindness, he's still going to want to fight back someday even if today wasn't genuine :0 sadly tho that's only stuff that'll be addressed in fanfics
@@demetrivilliers1692 I think, the Season was mixed. A few of the episodes were good (Wishmaker is still my favourite of S4) but some of them were bad or unnecessary. But this new Season is (except for the foreign shame thing here with the dirtying of Gabriels suit and some plot armor moments) really good. The writing is well thought and there are finaly some consequences from the actions of our protagonists/antagonist. Also: The whole love drama is now reversed. Adrien loves Mari and Mari suddenly loves Cat Noir^^
This entire episode I was in SHOCK of how manipulative and cruel Gabriel was being to Adrien. I mean, it's not that surprising, but this much in one episode? Felt like textbook manipulation. And I feel like nobody else has mentioned all this, so it's like, is it just me? Am I reading too much into this? Yeah, maybe. But like, first off, yeah, that scene at the beginning where he's like, "Oh, you don't like it now? Well, if it's that terrible for you, we can go back to the super awful time when you were miserable. Y'know, your choice." And then there was the scene at the school, man. So unnecessary. Like I know he was playing the mad dad thing, but did he really need to yell at everyone that Adrien was never going to be allowed at school again? That is the thing that Adrien has wanted the most (besides his father's love) and Gabe KNOWS that, so to rip it away from him just because is so cruel. He could've just admonished his friends and yelled that they were going home, and that Adrien was grounded and such. He did not need to take school away from him! And yeah, Adrien was in on it too, and he probably wanted to punish him, but still. That is so overkill and cruel. And then in the car. Adrien had finally been getting the love and attention he'd always wanted from his father at the beginning. Even Gabe letting him call him "Papa" was like, finally he was opening his heart to Adrien and then in the car, Gabriel angrily tells him to only call him father. That must've felt like a slap in the face. Adrien was probably terrified that he'd ruined everything and things were going to go back to the way things were and that he'd made his father not love him as much anymore. Like oh god, what a way to tell Adrien that "my love is conditional and if you do something wrong/make me mad, I won't love you as much anymore". And again, like I know he's mad and he's playing up the fact that he was mad, but that was SO UNNECESSARY. Like all he had to say was "Not now, Adrien." or "I don't want to hear it" or "You're in so much trouble when we get home" or SOMETHING. YOU DIDN'T NEED TO DO THAT TO YOUR SON, GABRIEL. And then when they get home, Gabriel plays the sh!t out of akumatizing himself, again just putting all the blame onto Adrien in that scene, not his friends or anything, like "oh those damn hooligans made a fool of me in public" NO, it was "oh I tried to be a good father, but that wasn't enough for him, he still acted out blah blah blah" like way to go out of your way to specifically make Adrien feel like sh!t and make him feel like the worst son ever for spilling food on his dad, god. So unnecessary and cruel. And then we're still not done, because even in Gabe's apology, he still sprinkles some good ol' manipulation in there. Gabe says something like "I lost control of my anger, but Ladybug made me realize I can't _give up on us."_ Give up? Implying that Gabriel was thinking about/going to give up on having a good relationship with his son. Give up. Like there was a big rift in their relationship, like things were broken, like things were too damaged to repair, like he had to put a lot of effort in to fix it. Basically making it out like Adrien had done this big, awful, terrible thing that was almost too much to work past. For spilling food on him. And yeah, he knows that Adrien meant to do it, but Gabriel wasn't supposed to know and also Adrien doesn't know that he knows so this is all just to dig that spike in a little deeper. Also the complete turn around for Gabe. In the last scene that Adrien saw "him" Gabriel was like destroying stuff, and now he's all like "its okay son that was nothing, that horrible thing you did, its fine we're friends again", like, how emotionally unstable of him. It's like lovebombing. One second it's all nice and everything is perfect and then the next Gabriel's screaming at him and making him feel like garbage. It's like you're hot then you're cold, you're yes then you're no, you're... Adrien is going to be terrified that when he does something wrong it's going to flip this switch and Gabe's gonna freak out on him. So... yeah. I know this is a kid's show, and this probably won't ever be really developed, but oh my god, the textbook manipulation and gaslighting. If this was in real life, Adrien would be terrified of ever doing something wrong or getting on his father's bad side, and then feel like HE was the horrible villain in all this for making his dad mad. He'd be constantly walking on eggshells. So yeah, good job, Gabe. Number 1 abusive, manipulative father in animation. Wow.
I feel like somehow they don't talk about this enough, and now even worse with the final Adrien is continually being gaslight and manipulated like omg! Give hin a break, he deserves so much better and therapy😭😭😭 That's why I am writing a fan fiction to give him some justice

Gabriel should’ve gotten cat noir’s miraculous this episode fr. His plan was smart and he could’ve grabbed it while he was paralyzed he had time. Also I think he said he used the rooster miraculous to be able to wear all those miraculous without getting weak. Dude was on it this episode, but plot armor
@otdreamer193 Ladybugs symbolize luck which is why she has that lucky charm ability (which is basically like Toodle's mystery tool that could help us later). But the luck she has is beyond reality, like seriously you'd have better luck winning those rigged 'time it' games in arcades.
If I remember correctly it was explained in the episode that the rings allow him to use 5 powers at max without getting hurt. They never mentioned anything about the rooster miraculous
About Adrien's mom being "dissaperead". I think that in kids tv shows they are not allowed to say words like "dead" or "deceased" so they need to say stuff like "dissapeared", "gone" or the classic "is he/she...you know....?"
I do like this episode as well. It proves that on a rare occasion, Gabe can have a good plan to throw the heroes off his trail. Some remarks: - The scene with Gabes suit getting spilled on was very Miraculous-like and hilarious. With Marinettes and Adriens horrible fake acting "Oops, I'm so sorry I spilled this food on your suit" and Alyas dry response, I was laughing way more then I should. - On the other hand, Gabes acting during the mirages akumatisation was also very bad and unrealistic. He was responding way too fast, making it very obvious he was faking it - About Alya and Lila: I do believe Alya should've been less accepting of Lila. Last time it was mentioned (I think somewhere in season 3), the problem was that Marinette couldn't prove to Alya that Lila was lying without revealing her identity. Now that Alya knows that Marinette is Ladybug, she should know at least that Lila doesn't always tell the truth and should be more careful around her.
well that's kind of the problem with shows like this where Evil need only win once. They can't be allowed to win. Thus their plans tend to be nonsensical. However, they dont need Gab to be outed as Monarch yet, So His plans are allowed to be good so he can win. As noted, Gab should have easily defeated Ladybug and Cat Noir. He had the time Miraculous and the Second Chance Miraculous. Combined he'd be unbeatable, and He had a plan that would have saved Everyone He cares about in one fell swoop and he gave that up.
@@skeith1543 He should use the Snake for every plan, not just during "Evolution". The ability to go back in time and redo and change his plans on the fly is very dangerous. However, despite it mostly being Ladybugs plot armor, it does make sense that he doesn't make better plans. Remember: Felix is the one that stole the miraculous and gave them to Gabe, Nathalie is the one that made the plan to go back in time to save Emily. I feel like he's becomming more and more desperate for the miraculous ("Passion" proves that) and more and more angry at Ladybug, and that keeps him from making good plans. Then again, plot armor definitly also is a factor
Off topic, but that scene where they’re trying to make Gabriel mad is even funnier when you realize that Ladybug and Cat Noir just spilled food all over Monarch.
If I remember correctly from the anime description ladybug represents luck and black cat - unluck. So I can guess that ladybug's secondary power is luck, like Domino, and she sucks the luck from her life of Marinette, that's why her stupid plans of LB always work, and her complex plans as Mari always fail.
The thing is it was already shown that Mari had bad luck before even getting the powers. So probably just giving luck only when the powers are being used, but when not used no luck. I think?
Sometimes I think the point of the plot armor is to emphasize just how lucky Ladybug is, so much so that you could call it miraculous, hence the name of the show Like, yea there are a bunch of times where Ladybug & Cat Noir genuinely outsmart Gabriel, but when Gabriel outsmarts them, that's when Ladybug's luck saves them, after all, Ladybugs are known to be lucky
You could also say that Chat Noir’s bad luck comes into play often. He often gets hit or controlled by the Akumas, he sometimes isn’t even needed to win the battles, Ladybug was chosen as Fu’s apprentice over him, his dad is literally Hawkmoth, his mom died due to the Peacock and Nathalie is sick due to it, his love doesn’t love him back but does in his other form (his luck may have legit created the love square), and his miraculous caused him to lose Kagami. Also, the only time that Adrien ever left Paris is when he needed to be there, in the New York special. The boy has terrible luck, whereas Marinette always has insane luck.
also that's at least a 20 meter drop, and i'm sure that's underestimating it. you mean to tell me both chat "i know morse code" "the white horse wasn't really white" "i always have the most random facts up my sleeve" noir and lady "i can calculate the exact movements of an akuma in advance and engineer my partner's path to perfectly intercept her backwards" bug saw this and went "ah yes. a human with no protective gear (magical or otherwise) and no proper diving techniques could definitely come out of that fall uninjured and barely fazed"?
episode 4 was Marinette deciding to NOT wear an alliance, and as she didn’t warn Chat Noire we needed an episode dealing with how Adrien feels about the alliance and a plausible reason for him NOT to wear one because if he did Gabe would quickly discover Chat’s identity and we’d be at the finale. Determination IS the ‘aw crap i love them now’ moment for the love square flip- it’s been slowly happening since season 3 and now it’s more and more official as Adrien and Marinette accept and lean into those feelings instead of living in denial. Episode 1 had to axe the bunny miraculous, episode two showed how gabe is going to use the miraculous now and shift focus from felix, episode 3 had to fill in the plot hole of gabe not immediately finding out ladybugs identity, then we have to make sure our heroes don’t have an alliance and know what the other former heroes are doing. It’s all been set up and filling in plot holes. It’s 6 episodes in that enough has been covered that we can get to the juicy love square flip and more kwami lore and long term monarch and ladybug plans.
Gabriel deserves an Oscar for his acting and an emmy for his plan it seem so good that without that cheesy lucky charm or rats he would have both the miraculous. And he still got away with his secret identity.
The plot armor bit though. The only time the Lucky Charm backfired on her was during the Risk arc. The charm gave her a train ticket which she immediately thought off Adrien as help, however, she is under the effects of Risk which prevents her from knowing if that's the real Adrien or not. I feel like the Lucky Charm always seem to know the item she needs but needs her to think off how to use it.
That's exactly how Ladybug was using her Lucky Charm. Random objects generated by her power of luck and the rest is up to her wits. But in the episode with Jeanne d'Arc, the latter was kinda surprised she was resting on random lucky charms instead of creating her own. And now that she can use her power indefinitely and with the Paris special, it's proven that the holder can create their own Lucky Charms (it was also kinda foreshadowed in Reflectadoll when Cat Noir as Mister Bug made a mirror as he wanted it, while maintaining the random nature of the power 'cause he and Ladybug/Ladynoir had to think about how to use it properly)
I feel like Alyah should be much more weary of Lila now because when Lila was introduced she said she was a ladybugs best friend but Alya knows that that's not true because she knows who ladybug is so if she's lying about that what else is she lying about
I think Gabriel is taking a pretty big risk with the alliance rings. After a few more akumatizations, the heroes could realize that the one thing the victims have in common is the ring which would point directly to Gabriel.
Honestly, this episode is one of my favorites for s5. I just love how for every episode they pull out a new idea Something that could actually bring forth ladybug and cat noir's defeat, but by some chance, they end up winning
I’d like to mention that the reason Gabe can control 5 miraculous is because he turned them into rings so when he unifies then he gets fewer physical draw backs
Also, I counted it in Evolution, and the moment he uses 6 or more kwamis he gets that electrocution thing over his body and is weakened, so I think five has always been his limit.
Tbh I have a bit of a theory as to why Gabe is being nice to Adrien and it's pretty straight forward ; he knows he's gonna die so he wants to leave Adrien with good memories of him if he does , and wants Adrien to accept and agree to his plan to save his mother when ; as he believes , he'll ultimately get the meraculous of Ladybug and Catnoir as to manipulate Adrien , though he does love Adrien to a degree , or atleast that's my theory anyhow
Nah, Gabe's original plan before Lila told him he was going to be the akuma victim was going to be to akumatise Adrien. Think about it, he acts the nicest he's ever done to Adrien, goes to school with him, and then comes home and drops the act and disappoints the cr4p out of Adrien. The perfect akuma victim.
Seeing this after the season end and Seeing how he basically tortured his son with nightmares, then look him in a prison and basically giving him drugs ring addiction I- Best father of the year!
My issue with Alya and Lila isn't even with either of them. My issue is that Marinette, now having told Alya that she's Ladybug and could very well tell her the exact details of the episode Volpina, has not told her best friend the reason WHY she knows for certain that Lila is a liar. That part is what frustrates me. There's no reason not to tell Alya. She already knows Marinette has done crazy things for Adrien so it wouldn't change her view on her best friend anyway.
I mean, Adrien said multiple times in previous episodes and seasons that the way Gabriel was acting in this episode is how he used to be before the series started. And we got hints of that behavior throughout the series, but most fans dubbed that behavior as manipulation from Gabriel. It is 100% canon now that Gabriel truly does care about Adrien, but became distant and abusive in an effort to restore his family. Gabriel assumed that Adrien was mourning because he himself was still mourning. While I don’t approve of Gabriel becoming abusive for 2-3 years, it is nice to know that said abusive nature is slowly fading away and we get to see what Gabriel is really like without his actions being influenced by his mourning. It’s also always great to see Gabriel being motivated by family instead of just power.

I really enjoyed this episode and was surprised at how much I enjoyed the characters interactions and the fact Nino was actually taking matters into his own hands when it came to helping Ladybug and Cat Noir in there struggle against Monarch despite his short comings he's ultimately a good hero and the hate he gets makes zero sense

If Felix can create a Sentimonster that lets him snap away anyone, then Gabe should have been to create a Sentimonster that gives him plot armor, but he didn't because he's taking the hardest route.
Those Alliance Rings sort of reminds me of those Goode VR Goggles from Young Justice Season 3. You know because they're a cool new gadget that people would want but was created by the villains for some evil purpose.
I love this new studio who are helping artage with the lighting, it nearly had me fooled as a SAMG episode! I hope from onwards we get more of this and less of that weird pink bloom filter they were using previously
This episode was so sad for Adrien though and what an abusive jerk Gabriel is. Even Gabe was being nice in the kitchen Adrien had this undercurrent of being kind of scared. And then he was in the cafeteria and got excited he could eat whatever he wanted (and he chose a salad). I was screaaming when Nino decided to piss off Gabe because sure lets anger the abusive father of your best friend how could that go wrong. And then he had the audacity to make adrien be one to spill something on his own dad. And afterwards his friends were like oh aren't you annoyed to Gabriel and Adrien instantly went to "aren't you absolutely furious?" because that's what he's used to. He wasn't even surprised when he got pulled from school for it. Even in the end when Gabriel hugged Adrien- everytime Adrien gets a hug he looks so touch starved and surprised. Anyway Gabriel is an abusive prick!! I know that this is a kids movie and in the end everything he's done to Adrien is going to be brushed over when he sees the error of his ways and apologizes. I just hate the message that it will send to forgive abusers if they apologize.
After the first season (in which Monarch was consistently making a point of only recruiting proven loosers and being surprised when they, true to form, lost), Hawkmoth started having some pretty good gambits and the heroes several times won purely by luck and plot armour. Sometimes, the villain was litterally just a tenth of a hundredth of a second away from removing Cat Noir's ring when deus ex plot armour turned the tables. And as Shadow Moth, he really started bringing the heat. Of course, he deserves every bit of smack he is getting after opting for evil when he is a mere nano-second away from undoing his entire motivation for villany. I mean...he could have just dropped that flash drive before taking the miracle box. He had his hand already through the portal, the drive dangling between two fingers. And he didn't drop it before turning for the box? For that alone, he deserves to loose in the most humiliating and public way possible. Damn right, his assistant no longer loves him.
this episode was not bad. I liked that adrien was excited about eating that dry salad. Nino should have just bullied the mayor out of all the people the mayor is more corrupt and he is easy to make angry. But gabriel legit had this won surprised he didn't take chat noirs miraculous when he was paralyzed tho lol.
The whole Alya thing stems from the fact Alya now knows who Ladybug is and should've realized that Lila lied to her about being BFF with Ladybug considering how Marinette has acted around her and saying she's a liar and all that. But I do understand from Alya's perspective Marinette has done some crazy stuff regarding Adrien and especially after the events in Ladybug, season 4 and the finale she's more worried about Marinette more so than ever. But at the same time this is one of Alya's character flaws where she has a fixed minded view of the world and has black and white perspective of everything, I'm pretty sure she'll figure out that Lila is a liar if Marinette literally says says it to her face about the whole situation but until then we'll have to see what kind of situation and drama will happen. Over all I liked this episode and my favorite part is definitely Marinette, Adrien, and Alya trowing food at Gabe and if I'm being honest I would've thrown it at his face 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Isn't that just the greatest tell that the two MCs are horrible Miraculous holders? They needed 5 seasons and a parttimers help to actually get active in going against Monarch? All they have been doing so far was giving Monarch chance after chance by never even trying to be anything but reactive so that he can by default succeed eventually if it wasn't for the shows plotarmor? They are completely passive teenagers waiting for the adult villain to guide the way to certain doom, if he was in any way competent, it would have just been aatter of time.
I feel like the resistance might backfire in one swoop, given lila is there to entrap all. Either that or mari or adrien making another double standard move becaise astruc said so.
Look at Gabe being kinda smart now Makes tech to track people to see if he can find them, same tech saves him from having to risk losing miraculous Surprised he hasn't used the snake miraculous yet, maybe a little smooth brain still around 🤷♂️
The ending were Gabriel is talking to Kagami’s mother has me wondering. I know she helped him make this stuff but how far invested is she? Does she know Gabriel is Monarch? Is she evil now too? What does she want from all this?
Illusion didn't fool me into not liking this episode because THIS was what I was wanting to see from the early episodes of S5 that we needed to see. Nino is actually working on how to figure out these moves of Monarch and also who he really is and though he can't truly ever be trusted with a legitimate secret, the fact that he's slowly building a means of a resistance against Monarch and fully diving into this detective mode of his is very much needed, but with Lila now in the mix, it's gunna be 2 steps forward, but 4 steps back for them. Gabriel having this ingenious plan was pretty incredible and it would've actually worked had that Lucky Charm not bail Ladybug out and the faux lightning special effect to throw off the trail of what's giving the akumatized villains their Miraculous powers is another smart feat in the mind of Gabriel to throw off the trail of him ever being considered a person of interest in being discovered as Monarch. I do hope that we can see more of this discovering of the truth in the next few episodes to come out and again, BALANCE this with the Reverse Love Square so that both can have the same endpoint and meet up to cement a grand finale to the run of Gabriel as HawkMoth, ShadowMoth and Monarch and even have Lila, yes LILA as the new bearer of the Butterfly Miraculous. I would give this episode a 8/10
OH MY GOD THIS SHOW WOULD BE SO GOOD IF WE HAD LIKE TWO “OH SHT” EPISODES!! One between Determination and Passion And one between Elation and the upcoming Transmission- Feelings are changing SO QUICKLY! If the creators put a bit more effort into the show it would be so INSANELY popular. Such a good plot! Not the BEST execution… Maybe this’ll change when Thomas’s contract expires at the end of the season..? PLEASE
It’s so sudden that I thought that Gabriel made a sentimonster that looks like him doing all those stuff in the beginning of the episode since he never does that but I stopped thinking that after he said that Adrien couldn’t go to school anymore and was getting all abusive again because if it was a sentimonster then I don’t think he would make the sentimonster do that and besides,Felix has the peacock miraculous but I’m still suspicious because in one of the trailers like for Passion it shows Natalie pin him down or something like that so she’s probably like you never do that, regardless even if it was a sentimonster like I thought I still hate him and nothing will change that because cat blanc is when I started hating him 100% and I’m not ever going to forgive him and I’ll never like him, still curious why he is randomly being nice to him and of what Natile says
I think you're forgetting the time when Lila framed marinette and alya defended her friend so of course she shouldn't fall for lila's schemes! Also, you know that the lucky charm pretty much solves ever situation
In Evolution Gab was able to fuse up to 6 miraculous together and still function. it was when he used 7 that He did himself in. Thus that's His hard limit on powers. no more then 6. It's also possible that the Rings might allow Him to use those powers more safely. As they dont actually contain the power until He takes it. Where as Before, The jewelry contained the kwami and powers regardless of If He had them activated or not and just wearing all of those drains the user, as marinette proved in Kwamibuster. She only had one power active, but all the miraculous equipped and She nearly passed out.
2:34 Not to mention that in Jubilation if you pay attention to one of the scenes you can see that Adrien's digital model can be left with just his *nderwear...why Gabriel?
Hawkmoth manipulation skills are on full in that scene. I am like this man so evil and cold. Was very entertaining and also makes you wish gabe would just be nice and give him a normal life with his dad but nah got to scheme
I hadn't realized we had gotten so many episodes. I've been sticking with the English dub and didn't know there were three other episodes out. To me the last episode before this had been Jubilation. Still at least I'm able to watch them in order, but I wasn't expecting a spoiler for Determination.
Monarch: I can use up to five Miraculous now! ...How? Not a few episodes ago, you were struggling to Multiple Miraculous. What? Does changing the Miraculous shape come with a power up as well?
I think the rings are a powerup of the miraculous becuz Safari created a object with powers with the power of Genesis and Glaciator blast explosive energy with the power of Clout
See, Monarch was constantly de transforming and then transforming again with the miraculous of the Fox Turtle etc without feeding them which is why he was struggling. Apparently one can use 6 miraculous powers at a time
I sort of figured that Alya being the rational one would probably still make an effort to stay on Lila's good side, like how she did in moments before finding out Marinette was Ladybug. We know full well that Marinette being outwardly against Lila is a detrimental move, while keeping up appearances of being fooled would be more strategic.
Honestly. I hope it does become their permanent relationship after Marinette uses her Miraculous Ladybugs to fix his arm, and cure Nathalie of her illness to win their approvals and acceptances of her after she and Adrien learn of their identities, become their future allies for the next few seasons moving forward, and Gabriel remarrying to get his life back together again
I'm pretty sure She can't use the Ladybugs to do that. They only fix a issue caused by villains or problems when they are immediately summoned, and cannot be used to fix issues caused by a separate issue. Monarch ran away with the Lucky Charm after getting injured and that charm has since been despawned, so another Lucky Charm can't heal him.
@@hunterrousseau3770 cause it was caused while battling that Techno villain guy. Techo villain was the reason She summoned lucky charm and she was able to fix the damage caused while fighting him, but couldn't fix the harm done during hawkmoths assault on Paris.
@@skeith1543 actually my point when she finds out who Monarch and Mayura really were, and realizes what's happened to Nathalie she can help cure them when she summons a lucky charm in the S5 finale and thank her for the other solution for saving them and make them her and Adrien's allies after that
@@hunterrousseau3770 The whole point i'm trying to make is that she can't fix problems with the lucky charm that aren't related to the Situation She's dealing with currently. That's a limitation of that power. She cannot use lucky Charm to heal Nathalie or Gabriel's illnesses as they were caused by events that She either wasn't there for or failed to use a Lucky Charm on originally. Maybe She'll come up with some other means to fix their problems, but it won't be with Lucky Charm.
The reason they keep saying she disappeared is because the body was never officially documented. Gave probably just took it and stuffed it in his garden with no one noticing.
3:47 Probably because of the kids watching the show, but I think seeing Emilie's body hidden in the basement must have been pretty shocking, no matter if they said she's really d*ad or not 😅
One thing that stood out to me in the scene with Marinette and Alya talking it shows that Marinette still isn't convinced about the cool factor of the Alliance and since she refused to take the ring from her mom it shows she doesn't like it, and still prefers the phone, as Alya is ok with having an Alliance ring.. we know that's how the power is transferred but they don't... But my concern with recording the fact of how the recording is monitored and recorded, and then bounced over to Gabe, as shown in the prior episode with the friend who looks like Marinette (forgive me I forgot the name)
I have yet to watch the episode, but I will say, I do find it strange that Nathaniel is the only classmate not in the resistance yet, alongside Marc, Zoé, Luka & Kagami.
I just wonder how tf gabe has not got it that his son is cat noir when the rings legit have a built in AirTag, where he can track Adrien with 24/7. Like when he is like okay bro is my son at the fencing lesson rn and then notices wtf Adrien is right at the fcking spot where the heroes fight Gabe's acumatized villain and moves really really fast, like how suspish can you get? Surely this example would have happened in some episode like Adrien has Fencing, Mandarin, School, home time where he learns piano or just chills out, his whole day is planned out and on top of that gabe can track him any time with the ring now how on earth hasn't Gabe figured out that his son is cat noir.
Like how did he lose with multiplicated ,invisible ,venom powers in a surprise attack😒. He could have just teamed up on both of them not all 4 of them on cat noir. What is the point of multiplication then. Cheap, illogical plot armour. The only possible solution was cat noir hearing his footsteps but that doesn't happen because no one remembers he has extra superpowers other than cataclysm(troublemaker, stormy weather) but instead was the only one attacked.
The thing I was most sad about this episode is that Gabe was able to clean the stains out of that white suit. Those skinny legged suit pants were not it fashion-wise. They will never be it. Who in the audience was asking to see Gabriel’s thigh gap.
I personally think this season from illusion onwards has been good. I mean I loved reunion and elation but can’t lie I didn’t want to see Andre akumstised again. We need a marinette akumatisation to happen. I will say the main thing is that monarch is being more active this season and finally coming out of his damn layer. I hated that before he never came out. I will say this I miss the hawk moth mayura duo but unfortunately felix has it which is annoying as he should have gotten it at the end of season 5 after the agreste arc. I hope we see mayura one last time tho obvi it ain’t gonna happen
I wonder how is the school security so bad that a mob of Adrien fanboys get in just cuz of a picture of Adrien gets posted on social media. Also Miss Bustier finally looks pregnant
The problem with Lila's manipulations is that it actually shouldn't work. At least not with how little effort she put in at first. I'm not saying Marinette's classmates shouldn't doubt her every once in a while but from the episodes before Lila was introduced, the class (sans Chloe) adored Marinette. Like straight up thought the world of her. They defend her against Chloe on a daily basis for god's sake so wouldn't it make more sense that the minute Marinette is like "Hey I'm getting bad vibes from this chick" they wouldn't immediately fall into the "You're just jealous she's into Adrien, poo on you" mindset? Especially when LADYBUG HERSELF confirms Lila was LYING.
How does Alya not realize that Lila is a liar when she clearly knows that Merinette is Ladybug and knows that she hates Lila so how is she still believing Lila's lies
If I didn’t already know that the writing in general for this show is horrendous. I would have guessed that Gabriel has BPD. And honestly I agree! Drugs too. And as a fashion history student that low-key would have been a nice reference if that was the case. As Gabriel’s Character is inspired by Gabrielle Coco Chanel, who also abused drugs in her lifetime. Of course though this is a kids show where serious topics are pushed under the rug and don’t exist so Gabriel’s constant major character shifts is just bad writing. 😂
Actually, I think the opening sequence is quite genius. Not filler at all. It's commentary about the current relationship, between the media, and the average person. The banana made perfect sense in that light. Doesn't matter what we say is going on in the world - Stay Peachy!!
I know we all appreciate the writing now, and it's a big improvement -- but lets not forget that this should've been the quality of the past seasons and this still doesn't make up for the utter trainwreck those were comparatively.
The episode was decent . It was nothing special, basically Collector 2.0 . Nothing new really happened, except for Lila's long-awaited involvement in the story and The Resistance . But those, just like all the other interesting ideas, are gone for a long time after their debut (Socqueline, for example), which is annoying . 5/10
And, oh my god, yes . The moment when Monarch suddenly used the named miraculouses all at once was actually really badass and surprising . And then he...jumps at Ladybug while she's rotating her yoyo and does everything to fail his own plan (like leaving footsteps on the floor, walking towards Ladybug at the speed of a turtle, etc.) . What the hell dude
Who is surprised Marinette benefited from plot armor at this point. She's Marinette! Of course she would get massive plot armor and win in the cheapest way possible. She always does.🙄
I find it so funny that the show works as if EVERY SINGLE PERSON in Paris wears this alliance ring. I am sure not everybody affords it and there are at least thousands of old people who wouldn't even know what it is. The show acts as if everyone just has one of these rings now and I can't even fathom how this is possible And don't tell me there isn't a group of people making theories about how alliance will lead to the end of the world or something. I just find it hilarious that everybody has just accepted it as a part of their life at this point...
One thing, that REALLY bothered me about the scenes, where Mari and Alya chatting about conquering the Miraculous back: Why the hell do they talk about that topic in PUBLIC?! And over a Ring, that is also a utility to post things on social media? What if someone on the streets noticed, what they were talking about and posted it on social media? I mean, in the real life Paris is a city of millions and there are people on the streets. If i was in Gabriels shoes, i would constant surveil Alyas Ring if she talks with someone about Ladybug. And when she does that, she will accidently reveal the secret identity of Ladybug
First of all. Lila literally accused Marinette of PUSHING HER DOWN THE STEPS amongst other ways she’s lied to ruin her reputation. As a “best friend” I would be side eyeing the hell out of you for feeling as if I’m overreacting when this person is in my presence, Adrien aside. Even as ladybug you now know it is me and that girl straight up lied about knowing me unprovoked. Like… lol how much more proof do you need to stop forcing me to be nice to her????? Secondly, the fans of course would be surprised to know adrien is finally allowed to eat in the cafeteria. It’s a free period. The rest of the school day they are in class. Can’t easily rally a mob there.
3:08,ngl my brain kinda had a short circuit when they discussed this part, like Gabe legit cooking and going to school with Adrien is unnerving as all hell.
In terms of Alya's relationship with Lila:
I think a big problem some people have is that Alya now knows Ladybug's identity, which means it's obvious to her that Lila lied about being friends with Ladybug. I completely get that Lila needs to be able to manipulate people successfully, but for Alya specifically to still be fooled at this stage makes her seem incredibly dumb
Yeah I agree ✋ 😊 💯
Indeed, now that Alya knows Marinette is Ladybug, why hasn't Marinette straightened Alya out about Lila?
Yeah I agree, This is terrible writing and Alya is out of character and she's being stupid.
My sister, who is a massive Miraculous fan, repeatedly points this out.

3:47 I can imagine this being a trauma that Gabriel himself would have caused Adrien if they had the courage to explore this in the show, Adrien would have stopped saying that his mother is gone/dead because his father would explode with rage just like in the episode Félix, he would definitely do the same thing the first time Adrien said something about Emilie being dead and the poor boy would have to get used to saying she disappeared just to not piss off his father again...
Why hello again cakow masapin afishell😅
Well she isn't dead, she's in a comatose state, most likely from using the damaged peacock miraculous
@@wlfecipse5751 Yes, but she looks like she is dead
@@wlfecipse5751 Technically speaking, everybody thinks she is dead and the way Gabriel and Nathalie behave implies that she might never wake up from her comatose state without the ladybug and cat miraculous which can alter reality. So she's practically dead.
It's episodes like this that make me wish this show had more villains. And I don't mean the villains that Gabriel creates, I mean villains that aren't working for Gabriel and act on their own like Felix. I say this because it's hard to make your main villain come off as a threat when he's losing in every single episode.
I know right?
Why were they chasing after Master Fu
Maybe they could be some sort of villain organization
@@edra2005 No, that was during WWII. They were soldiers but I'm not sure which side they were fighting for. It is most likely Nazi Germany.
She's an easy prey too, and she hates everyone by default, so pissing her off won't change a thing
not to mention chloe has purposefully gotten akumatized and they know this especially from the penalteam episode.
You're forgetting that Adrien agreed with getting his dad akumatized. Like... he was willing to fight his own dad. That's even more messed up.

@@Anthyrion maybe I’m biased but I LOVE marichat, so this new season is great 👍
This entire episode I was in SHOCK of how manipulative and cruel Gabriel was being to Adrien. Y'know, your choice."
And then there was the scene at the school, man.
Wow.
Emelie won't even divorce just straight up Burn the house w him and maybe nathalie unclear
I feel like somehow they don't talk about this enough, and now even worse with the final

Although the creator confirmed that the public believes she’s dead. He said that apparently they had a funeral and everything
“dissaperead” 💀
Not to mention the fact they already mentioned Felix's father is dead and had a funeral as well.
But Ladybug did use the word "died" in reference to Félix's father. There's no reason the term couldn't be used in reference to Emilie as well.
@@OzzyNe0n what episode tho
I do like this episode as well. It proves that on a rare occasion, Gabe can have a good plan to throw the heroes off his trail. Some remarks:
- The scene with Gabes suit getting spilled on was very Miraculous-like and hilarious. With Marinettes and Adriens horrible fake acting "Oops, I'm so sorry I spilled this food on your suit" and Alyas dry response, I was laughing way more then I should.
- On the other hand, Gabes acting during the mirages akumatisation was also very bad and unrealistic. He was responding way too fast, making it very obvious he was faking it
- About Alya and Lila: I do believe Alya should've been less accepting of Lila.
@@kindness_cat6212 The irony in this show xD

@@Emietty dude-
@@Emietty same tbh
Nice joke.
I think?
Sometimes I think the point of the plot armor is to emphasize just how lucky Ladybug is, so much so that you could call it miraculous, hence the name of the show
Like, yea there are a bunch of times where Ladybug & Cat Noir genuinely outsmart Gabriel, but when Gabriel outsmarts them, that's when Ladybug's luck saves them, after all, Ladybugs are known to be lucky
I was kind of confused how Ladybug wasn't able to realize that Gabriel, in no way shape or form was wet, after supposedly falling into the sewer water
also that's at least a 20 meter drop, and i'm sure that's underestimating it. you mean to tell me both chat "i know morse code" "the white horse wasn't really white" "i always have the most random facts up my sleeve" noir and lady "i can calculate the exact movements of an akuma in advance and engineer my partner's path to perfectly intercept her backwards" bug saw this and went "ah yes. a human with no protective gear (magical or otherwise) and no proper diving techniques could definitely come out of that fall uninjured and barely fazed"?
episode 4 was Marinette deciding to NOT wear an alliance, and as she didn’t warn Chat Noire we needed an episode dealing with how Adrien feels about the alliance and a plausible reason for him NOT to wear one because if he did Gabe would quickly discover Chat’s identity and we’d be at the finale.
Adrian doesn't wear the ring cause it creeps him out to have his face plastered all over them. He rejects it because He simply doesn't like it.
Omg you're right, Marinette didn't even warn cat noir about that, what a good partner
It's honestly ridiculous that Gabriel hasn't gotten the miraculous he had God tier power and failed smh
11:14 lol I laughed so much when Alya didn’t even try to hide that she did it on purpose 😂
Gabriel deserves an Oscar for his acting and an emmy for his plan it seem so good that without that cheesy lucky charm or rats he would have both the miraculous.
And he still got away with his secret identity.
Keith Silverstein is the best voice actor in this show
The plot armor bit though.
Almost everyone in Paris has the ring, so they won't realize
They are to dumb to realize that, they literally thought Hawkmoth hacked the rings
They would think it’s tomoe or gaberial
Honestly, this episode is one of my favorites for s5. I just love how for every episode they pull out a new idea
Something that could actually bring forth ladybug and cat noir's defeat, but by some chance, they end up winning
The funniest scene was Gabriel casually backing off right into the sewege, lol.
I wish we saw Gabe react to them messing his all white drip suit without him knowing the plan. He would have freaked 😂😭
I feel so bad for Adrien. His mom is dead and Gabriel and Natalie will eventually die. So he'll have no one left...
Seeing this after the season end and Seeing how he basically tortured his son with nightmares, then look him in a prison and basically giving him drugs ring addiction I-
Best father of the year!
@@yissibiiytethat's something he would do
I think Ladybug's lucky plot armor makes complete sense. If anything, Gabe will have to figure out a way to give her bad luck in order to win.
Gable should have used the rooster miraculous to give him good luck
@@Radkeyboard7984 That's an idea!
I hope you regret this
@@juicebox7372 I don’t at all. That comment was from half a year ago. A lot has changed since then, but at the time, my words were truly speculation based on what I as an audience member was given to work with.
Yea he was really motivated about family, he was motivated with killing CAT NOIR and ladybug
Anyway your comment, I can't even....omg after the final
@@nicolas._.2294 Dude, this comment is almost a year old. How long did you need to scroll to find it. And my comments? Are you my stalker? I really enjoyed this episode and was surprised at how much I enjoyed the characters interactions and the fact Nino was actually taking matters into his own hands when it came to helping Ladybug and Cat Noir in there struggle against Monarch despite his short comings he's ultimately a good hero and the hate he gets makes zero sense
I’m guessing that there are some people didn’t like the fact that he exposed Rena Furtive
@@AshBlueFox16Yeah but that kinda was more her fault than Nino's fault
@@craigpeoples9883 her?🤨
@@AshBlueFox16Alya's fault for not keeping her mouth shut
@@craigpeoples9883 well I know much about romance, so I wouldn’t know how to tell a partner. But knowing about Alya and Nino’s personalities. They would tell each everything
I really like the fact that all of the Collector apparence is alway use to deceave the heroes.
This season is so charming and feels like all of the pieces falling into place. It sucks that it took so long for them to get organized, but…
The whole Alya thing stems from the fact Alya now knows who Ladybug is and should've realized that Lila lied to her about being BFF with Ladybug considering how Marinette has acted around her and saying she's a liar and all that.
I love miraculous but my god it has its quirks and your reviews make it so much better 😂😂
I feel like the resistance might backfire in one swoop, given lila is there to entrap all. Either that or mari or adrien making another double standard move becaise astruc said so.
Look at Gabe being kinda smart now
Makes tech to track people to see if he can find them, same tech saves him from having to risk losing miraculous
Surprised he hasn't used the snake miraculous yet, maybe a little smooth brain still around 🤷♂️
lol later is revealed that is a risk to use the snake miraculous
I would give this episode a 8/10
This type of episode especially between the main 4 is something we should’ve been had since like s2-3
OH MY GOD THIS SHOW WOULD BE SO GOOD IF WE HAD LIKE TWO “OH SHT” EPISODES!!
One between Determination and Passion
And one between Elation and the upcoming Transmission-
Feelings are changing SO QUICKLY!
If the creators put a bit more effort into the show it would be so INSANELY popular. Such a good plot! Not the BEST execution…
Maybe this’ll change when Thomas’s contract expires at the end of the season..?
Bro wtf, this just makes it worse
Apparently one can use 6 miraculous powers at a time
He changed the miraculouses into the rings just for that, and to give him villains powers as well.
They made monarch so powerful, using five at a time with no drawbacks he built different. Like it's insane he also using the miraculouses smart
@@skeith1543 what about when she fixed Cat Noir's cataclysm on Uncanny Valley then?
Maybe She'll come up with some other means to fix their problems, but it won't be with Lucky Charm.
no because i just realized WHAT people could actually make adrien say to them..
Now knowing how the season ends I think I do prefer the idea of Gabe being a good dad from the beginning so that his redemption feels earned
Lila’s running animation is bad and I love it
I have yet to watch the episode, but I will say, I do find it strange that Nathaniel is the only classmate not in the resistance yet, alongside Marc, Zoé, Luka & Kagami.
They are just starting out, they won't have everyone there yet
"Shredded Cheese?"
"Plagg would be happy"
Can't wait for the Elation review 👀
14:56 Alya is REALLY enjoying Marinette/Ladybug's hypocrisy here
I miss Chloe! Next to Chat Noir she’s the best character
I think it would be funny if after nino admits there superheroes marrinette said she was multi mouse 🐁 and adrien had the snake 🐍 miraculous
The episodes are airing in order for now in the US
I honestly think the episode would be a million times better if the banana was the one in charge of the panel show
1:20 I don’t think it was actually very filler, this comes in to play a bit in a later episode
At 5:07 Marinetti is shown with a side facing foot that looks hella awkward. I loved the video
I mean, it’s possible. I do that sometimes…
I wonder how is the school security so bad that a mob of Adrien fanboys get in just cuz of a picture of Adrien gets posted on social media. Also Miss Bustier finally looks pregnant
Yeah I agree ✋ 😊 💖
Ms. B kid is gonna be a dormate growing up with that women teachings.
To be honest, Miraculous needs an adult anime remake.
How does Alya not realize that Lila is a liar when she clearly knows that Merinette is Ladybug and knows that she hates Lila so how is she still believing Lila's lies
6:46 is anyone else concerned about Marinette having 3 plates of the same pasta on her tray?
If I didn’t already know that the writing in general for this show is horrendous. I would have guessed that Gabriel has BPD.
And honestly I agree! Drugs too. And as a fashion history student that low-key would have been a nice reference if that was the case. As Gabriel’s Character is inspired by Gabrielle Coco Chanel, who also abused drugs in her lifetime.
Of course though this is a kids show where serious topics are pushed under the rug and don’t exist so Gabriel’s constant major character shifts is just bad writing. 😂
Season 5 is basically just, Miraculous: Tales of Plot Armour
6:15 I’m sorry but look at how the ring is in the center of the finger like that’s so disturbing.
Actually, I think the opening sequence is quite genius. Not filler at all. It's commentary about the current relationship, between the media, and the average person. The banana made perfect sense in that light. Doesn't matter what we say is going on in the world - Stay Peachy!!
Great job glad your still going thanks for being awsome
The show acts as if everyone just has one of these rings now and I can't even fathom how this is possible
And don't tell me there isn't a group of people making theories about how alliance will lead to the end of the world or something. I just find it hilarious that everybody has just accepted it as a part of their life at this point...
I don’t think Emily actually died maybe she is just in some kind of hyper sleep
I thought the food in the cafeteria looked fantastic!
Yes I went to public school in the US
One thing, that REALLY bothered me about the scenes, where Mari and Alya chatting about conquering the Miraculous back: Why the hell do they talk about that topic in PUBLIC?!
Nino can't keep this mouth shut to save his life 😩
First of all.
