I honestly expected Marrinette to be more scared of Monarch appearing in her room. He’s the man not only trying to steal her Miraculous and destroy the world, but who was also ready to start World War 3 and nuke a bunch of countries if it meant he could have his wife back. This was the equivalent of waking up to find a global terrorist standing at the foot of your bed.
Yeah Gabriel is the worst he wanted to start World War III. World war three like he was willing basically cause the end of the world just To wake his wife up from a coma wow
“Imagine getting talked down to by a tiny floating monkey who’s technically your slave and who implies you’re an idiot” is one of the best things I’ve ever heard
While I find Marinette's plan impressive, I don't know why she or Chat Noir couldn't have just started grabbing the miraculouses when Monarch was bound and trying to understand what just happened. In those few minutes they could have grabbed as many miraculous as they can even if it wouldn't be all of them, starting with: 1). Horse Miraculous - Monarch won't be able to teleport without thus trapping him. 2). Dog Miraculous - Monarch won't be able to fetch the miraculouses again so if he loses then it's permanent. 3). Snake Miraculous - Monarch won't be able to turn back time to correct his mistakes. 4). Bee Miraculous - Monarch won't be able to paralyze them. 5). Ox Miraculous - Monarch won't be able to resist Ladybug and Chat Noir's attacks. 6). Monkey Miraculous - Monarch won't be able to sabotage Ladybug and Chat Noir's powers 7). Mouse Miraculous - Monarch won't be able to multiply himself to get the upper hand. 8). Turtle Miraculous - Monarch won't be able to use a shield to protect himself. .........etc. If they maybe started grabbing the miraculouses somewhat in that order then they would have probably taken away majority of Monarch's advantage by stripping him of the key miraculouses that play a role in him maintaining possession of the miraculouses.
@@JadeStone926 Yeah, just grab the bee, paralyze Monarch, grab the miraculouses, unmask him, have our session of Chat Noir having his much deserve chance to yell at his father, Emilie is healed and decides whether or not she wants divorce Gabriel and marry Nathalie instead, Lila is exposed and arrested in a satisfying sequence and finally we get to Marinette and Adrien dating or whoever it is they want to date and it ends with Ladybug and Chat Noir enjoying the night lights of Paris and as the scene fades out making us think it's over until it opens up to a scene revealing a glimpse of the new big bad and from maybe one of the other miraculous temples around the world thus combining the worlds of the Miraculous world specials with the series thus exploring more of the Miraculouses in other seasons. Simple as that.
I feel the same way. In episode one they could have taken one or two miraculous and done the same with this one. Heck for safety measures Gabriel could have used the snake "just in case this is a trap" but doesn't. I would have thought that they would get the miraculous one by one in each episode but this is something else. Plus monarch's, shadowmoth's whatever he is called now have zero costume improvements.
@@123456foxyify True, at this point I feel like with every villain costume that has Gabriel bald is just a foreshadow that his civilian self will go bald as a form of karma for what he's done. Actually, his villain form before he made the miraculouses into rings was one of his better forms because it had some taste to it but now we're back to the same bald routine. The shocking irony of it all is that Gabriel's occupation is as a fashion designer and yet there's nothing fashionable about the villain costumes or some of the akuma forms he makes. I can't tell you how many times I've questioned this man's occupation and right now I believe the only reason his brand is successful is because his son is the eye candy. If Gabriel gets a successor for his villainy then I hope they have more taste in fashion than he does.
All gabe would have to say to ruin this entire plan is: "Kwaamis I order you, tell me if Marinette knows Ladybug's true identity." If her adress is fair game then this should be too.
The fact that they took him to an address he's never once thought about or been too before while also encountering an ex-holder who is in league or was in league with Ladybug is the biggest red flag.
@@Monty2289 True. Marinettes lie was very convincing, especially since she was revealed as Multimouse in the episode 'Kwamibuster', but the second Alya showed up Monarch shouldve suspected more from Marinette
@@fantasan8540 Not really, remember, he knows everyone with a miraculous is in the same class as alya and marienette, so it wouldn't be suprising if lady bug simply gave a singular miraculous to each of them.
The episode title was very deceptive, we all thought "destruction" would focus on Plagg and Adrien, but I think the ending could open an interesting opportunity for his character. With him feeling guilt over using Cataclysm on an actual person might make him more hesitant to use it in the future.
I think the titles just mean that thats power that will be the most important in the episode. Evolution consists of the bunny miraculous. Multiplication,Jubilation etc
ikr especially in the episode *named after* Adrien's Miraculous. imo they could have shortened the part of the episode where Mari explains her plan to Alya ... a lot of it felt repetitive and unnecessary ... and instead used that time to focus more on Adrien and the psychological stuff he was feeling having just Cataclysmed someone.
@@prettyadore1838 I mean what do we really know about Adrien’s home life before his mom was put in a coma. Was Gabriel still distant? Was Emilie okay with Adrien being stuck in the mansion all the time?

Thank you for pointing out that they had so much time to strip Monarch off at least some of the miraculouses but instead decided to gloat and taunt him. It irritated me so much!!!
True, even though the episode was still good, he could have at least used Venom to paralyze Cat Noir and Clout to injure Ladybug so that he can then escape!
I really did not like how a huge part of the episode was explaining the events that we just watched. I would have preferred if this episode was more Adrien focused. He seemed pretty shaken up about hurting someone vs Merinette’s reaction to a VILLAIN showing up in her room.
Yeah, I was happy when I saw still 8 minutes left after Monarch had escaped. Then got disappointed when I realized a big chunk of it is the episode repeating itself.
No, he does not deserve any redemption, not after abusing his son, human trafficking & Kwami trafficking, experimenting on the Kwamis & destroying the Miraculous for those rings. This guy is an a-hole! 😡

What does she say? "It will be very difficult to get Gabriel to stop pursuing the Miraculous". Yep, he was evil all along. So Emilie may or may not have committed s*icide to get away from him by letting the illness kill her. So he must have always been that neglectful to just son. Yes, Gabriel is that bad. Child abusing, human trafficking, worle destroying, animal abusing psychopath who does NOT deserve redemption.
Theories why it was called "Destruction": Gabriel got cataclysmed which is a huge highlight in this episode. The rest of the stolen miraculouses were forged into rings that almost looked like the cat miraculous of destruction. The rest of the stolen miraculouses were destroyed. Or Alya's phone got destroyed 😂
Ok, but like... this is the second time Monarch has been tied up by Ladybug and BOTH TIMES she doesn't immediately strip monarch of all the miraculous he has on as fast as she can. I'm still passed over when he just passes out during Evolution, and she hesitates to grab the bunny and just stalls.
It's like those scenes were written when Gabriel only had the butterfly miraculous. But instead he goes around wearing them all (without any consequences) and Ladybug just waits until he politely surrenders.
The fact that Gabriel was able to destroy the "indestructable" miraculouses but the power of destructruction wasn't enough to destroy him. Remember how we had instances of Cat Noir almost using his power on himself? And now it's not even that big of a deal.🤦♀ I appreciate this episode for altering the formula and showing us that Marinette still has her smarts from Kwami Buster. It was quite funny too but this show's logic frustrates me sometimes. Everytime Gabriel is smart, the heroes have plot armor, and when the heroes have the upper hand, they don't use their head! This just ruins any possible drama.
I dont think being cataclysmed was ever a big deal (to a superhero). It was only a big deal when Lila used an illusion to make Cat Noir turn to dust, the show never said that was what would actually happen it is just what Lila wanted everyone to see. I remember Cat Noir getting cataclysmed in S1 or S2 and the impacts weren't too bad. The suit protects the holder from cataclysms
Adrien: Oh my god, I just cataclysmed someone, he may be Monarch, but he’s still a person. Is he going to die? Marinette and Alya: Let me pretend I care. Okay, I'm done
I feel like this episode...it wasn't bad but it wasn't great either.😕 With a name like destruction there is sooooo much more they could've done with it, like centre it around chat noir or mention chat blanc or literally anything that makes the title feel relevant beyond just having Chat Noir cataclysm Monarch.
For everyone wondering about the title, this episode is one of the ones where the title indicates an event happening in the episode, not a miraculous power. Some others include the season finale titles, Conformation and Re-creation.
I liked that they Adressed the rooster, but gabe could still grant himself to Revive, wake up his wife, right? Oh yeah, also: Why didn't he activate the ox's power, so he'd be immune to the cataclysm?
@@katsunAC Doesn't fully answer the question. He won't lose anything using the rooster to revive his wife, so why not just do it? He can still try to get the miraculous.
Yeah I think the major flaw of the episode is The inconsistency with the Kwami‘s and their owners. Like saying “ give me the power to track down ladybug“ and the saying “ that’s a wish not a power” says who? I was frustrated with Gabriel basically
@@annieandelsieofarendelle3294 like he just be like “ I want the power to see scent” so when ladybug comes he knows what her scent looks like and and just go around Paris until they find them. Tho I bet they’re gonna be like “ her scent changes think to magic”
I really liked the ep, but I had 2 problems. Ladybug talked WAAAY too much when she had him tied up. And half the episode was basically just reshowing wat we just watched
I think I understand the bit about the kwamis only saying Ladybug: Since Marinette is still their guardian and she didn't actually give Gabe all the miraculous, they would still be loyal to her and not Gabe even though he has all of them.
8:18 THANK YOU FOR TALKING ABOUT THIS SCENE! I watched this and got so pissed because she just stood there holding her yo-yo and talking to him. Girl didn’t take any Miraculous or even look like she was going to. There were like 5 Miraculous that she could’ve easily grabbed of his head or neck
I like to think the kwamis were just making shit up as they went along with Monarch. I never believed the whole "can't lie to our holder" nonsense. I feel like we've seen Tikki and Plagg casually bend the truth with Adrien and Marinette often enough to believe they'd find ways to not tell Monarch anything.
Now that they revealed the ne Monarch design i got this feeling that they kind of pushed all of the episodes a few months back because they wanted to give Gabe a new and more menacing design for his last season but everyone started dunking on the first monarch design so they created a new one and replaced it on all of the episodes that were left
I will say that I did indeed liked the episode of Destruction, but again......Ladybug and Cat Noir WANT this war with Monarch since they could've EASILY STRIPPED a few Miraculous off of him, but they just HAD to have a grand-standing victory speech to give him time to commit self harm, make an opening for himself and then bail still with ALL THOSE MIRACULOUSES. The elaborate and complicated plan was well thought out and executed, but it still failed regardless because........WRITING, and now we have Monarch with the Aliance Miraculous rings and his new more lengthy plan to best the duo and revive Emile. The Kwamiis were still fun and good to watch and they easily were the stars of the episode, so let's see how this new Aliance plan works out with the next episode.
Exactly. Since NO SANE PERSON would've taken 10 minutes to walk a villain through their plan STEP BY FREAKING STEP, this is the part where we have to remember they are still teenagers dealing with an adult nemesis.
@@vgngolley341 They're dealing with a fucking terrorist, you'd really think the first rule of thumb would be "kick him while he's down!!" instead of that lengthy monologue
The holder is those who receive a miraculous from a guardian. Since the miraculous is stolen it doesn’t count. That’s why Gabriel has to use magical spells to force the Kwamis to do stuff.
5:57 I can see it now Hawk moth: is this the right Marinette: ahhhhh do you mind I’m getting dressed! Hawk moth: sorry sorry sorry Waits outside Hawk moth: are you done yet?
I really liked this episode; to a strange level. I think this might be my favourite episode, at least top 3. Might just be recency bias tho I couldn't really care for the first 15 minutes, but that last quarter where the plan becomes clear and we actually see some degree of intelligence from both parties shows off why Ladybug was written with such a complex-working power. That Gabriel sequence at the end was a masterpiece, if the first 15 minutes was shortened to the first half and the rest was just about Gabriel creating the rings and reacting to his injury it would be the best episode by FAR.
You say smooth brain is gone, but I disagree. He knows Ladybug is a student at that school. Marinette is a student at that school. He didn't put 2 and 2 together?
This episode was meh. First off. Destruction is Adrien's power as well as Plagg's! NOT DOLLNETTE'S! Ahem. Also I'm glad Adrien being a pacifist is Canon. This episode was a waste though. It should've been an Adrien, Plagg and Cat Noir episode!
@@prettyadore1838 Exactly! Like can Adrien and Plagg please just take up an episode for once?! Or more than a few episodes. Marinette and Tikki bore me.
Don't be foolish, everyone knows you can only use a good idea once in a show like this. Like why become scarlet moth again despite the fact he can create a sentimonster catalyst to boost his powers instead of natalie, or using the rooster miraculous to attain the same result.
I guess this episode was called "Destruction" because of Adrien actually using his Cataclysm on Gabe, because this had nothing to do with the Black Cat Miraculous or Cat Noir at all. He was barely even in the episode.
This whole plan would've been a waste if Monarch just put two to two together when he was led to Marinette's house. Why would Ladybug entrust a random kid with the first clue of a scavenger hunt that'd supposedly uncover her real address? Even as a trap? Hell, _especially_ as a trap. Plus, he KNOWS the Ladybug Miraculous is a pair of tiny earrings. There was nothing stopping him for at least _checking her ears,_ even if he assumes that all teenage girls get lobe piercings. Even if he sees them and assumes they're fake Ladybug fan merch or whatever, there is nothing stopping him from just checking. But he takes this random girl's word for an obviously bait-y scavenger hunt just so the trap can work. This is pretty much what Miraculous writing is like but oh my god, I could not stop being bothered by it. :/
I know, right? In order to make Marinette look smart they have to make Gabriel look stupid... And when Gabriel falls for it, they let him escape. Like-
Why would lady bug consisently give miraculouses to teenagers who are all in the same class. Simple, because lady bug is around thier age, so it's suprising that he wouldn't immediately assume it's her when there are a bunch of teenage girls who are her age. As for the hunt, one of the main plot points in last season finale was that hawkmoth realized Lady Bug doesn't take risk, so why wouldn''t she put extra steps to ensure her location stays hidden.
During that bit in the museum, I found myself constantly screaming GRAB THEM, why didn’t they grab the miraculous, WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY, What. Are. You. Doing.
I do like this episode as well. It proves that Gabe still can lose, despite having so many miraculous. The only problem I have, is the title. It shouldn't be named after the Cat Miraculous, if it isn't the core power being used. Surely, Cat Noir cataclysmed Gabes arm, but that's it. Honestly, I would've named it after the monkey or horse miraculous
it is a reflection of his own insanity and prolonged dual metamorphosing with other kwami that affected the hawk moth suit which led to the creation of that, or nooroo adapted to what it is he's feeling which is the constant anger and rage and its a reflection of those emotions that can cause the Hawk Moth suit to adapt
@@skeith1543 his desire to have the miraculous and to complete the wish has affected his sanity and in turn has prompted nooroo to use his costume adaptation ability for Gabriel’s obvious dark intentions, yeah it warrants a new costume as he’s unified with all of them at least one time which also calls into question if nooroo is properly drawing on his life energy and or if he’s being nourished on traditional food either…
Thinking about it now, I'm a bit disappointed that Gabe didn't at least ask if he could get a power that could heal his wife. He has been single mindedly on getting the wish that he seems to of lost sight of his goal, to save his wife. He didn't even consider using time travel to prevent her from getting sick in the first place, Natalie had to spell it out for him. The wish is a means, not an end.
Ok, so I just realized, this is more habe smooth brain, but turn himself in to unmasker with the power to see trough masks, then make an illusion lure out the hero’s and boom, he knows who they are
Imagine Lila and Felix calling out on his uncle's smooth brain antics when he was a villain after they become equals and she abandons her old alliance with Gabe when Felix tells her about the absolute power thing where everyone including herself will be erased from existence and replaced with recreated versions of themselves and the two become Argos and Chrysalis
i think what the kwamis meant from “ladybug is still their holder “ They mean since she is still there guardian and makes the rules for the miraculous I think being the guardian has special set of rules they aren’t wrong though ladybug is still their holder/guardian and since she didn’t rennouce her role as guardian she still has some authority over them of what they can share or say
I want to know how did Monarch get out of Ladybug 's lucky charm? Did he stay that way until she detransformed? Also, why when Monarch is down do they not start snatching miraculous from him? They definitely could have taken the monkey, bee, and even the horse before he said anything. Even the rooster. Maybe not the tiger since that was wrapped around his fingers but that was the second time they allowed all of them to get away. Even the butterfly was in reach. Smh!! They didn't have to use them. Send them with Bunnix but at least get something. Geez!!And poor Chat Noir. He didn't cataclysm Monarch, he did that to himself.
Plus they made Monarch an absolute joke . Dude was teased to be Hawkmoth at his peak, yet everyone within and without the show in this episode treat him like an everyday occasion
Oooh I just realized they set up the whole lucky charm thing so that they can transform all the miraculouses back to their original jewelery form from the riiiiings
The levels of smoothness in Moth's brain sometimes, it's a wonder he ever managed to get his hands on the miraculous. He could've tried to ask Rooster for the power to reveal a person's inner most secrets, but no, goofball fetch quest at the hands of two technical children = big game plays.
The idea of Gabe going into multiple bakeries and using the snake miraculous 100s of times has me in STITCHES. Brilliant! I demand outtakes. I agree with everything you've said, apart from "why did we need this scene of Marinette's parents?" Umm, because they're adorable, that's why. (From a narrative POV I also enjoy seeing how regular folk are trying to join the fight against Hawk Moth, and Tom doing it through cheerfully-agressively baking is so on point!)
Thank you so much for this channel! This is what I needed but I didn’t know it. I’m so glad there’s someone who actually explains and makes fun of how cringe and stupid these episodes are. PS don’t get me wrong I absolutely love this series so much
I litteraly feel the same about monarch escape scene. Ladybug slowly talking and run around... PLEASE less talking and more action would easily lead to monarch defeat ! Oh but yeah... writers wanna make the story last way longer that it should actually be... 😑
I still don’t get how the kwami’s know Cat Noir’s identity without Plagg being able to reveal Adrien’s identity (which this episode still proves that the Kwami’s still can’t reveal their holders identity)
@@PokemonFan1986 oh yeah but still how does he know or any other Kwami know where Adrien lives and also it’s not like Sass is able to tell anyone or any kwami who cat noir is.
I feel like the cataclysm is slowly going to spread and get really bad and in the end if he ever gets the ladybug and cat miraculous he’ll have to decide wether he wants to heal himself or save Emily and tbh I think he’s going to choose to heal because he’s gotten to wrapped up in having lots of power which we saw in evolution.
Well since Marinette is still the guardian of the miraculous it means that the kwamis cannot reveal the identity of the guardian of the miraculous box. That also means that Marinette when she gets them all back, cannot ask who Monarch is/was because he was a holder of the miraculous for a period of time. The holders are the people that are given a miraculous and/or take it, with or without the guardian's permission and transform with said miraculous. Also it is said that they can't reveal any direct and PERSONAL information on guardian's or holders which I suspect includes addresses, names, phone numbers, schools, y' know stuff like that.
Hey monarch how about ask the rooster to give him a power to throw an invisible 100% undetectable dart that attaches to anyone he wishes and tracks them. Then akumatize an easily defeat able villain(so Ladybug doesn't use her lucky charm), then use the fox to make himself invisible and once the villain is defeated throw the darts(if it fails use the snake), and then just boom done.
3:56 It was actually revealed that the guardian of their respective miraculous is also the keeper of the Miraculous and would remain as such regardless of who the Miraculous is given to until they renounce the Miracle Box. As such, since she didn't renounce the Miracle Box and is therefore still the Guardian, they would be unable to reveal her secret identity unless Gabriel himself had already known it which he didn't. Side Note: I still have no idea why Nooroo was speaking in the first place as he doesn't even know Ladybug's secret identity.
Tom: OUR CROISSANTS WILL MAKE EVERYONE SO HAPPY THAT NO ONE CAN GET AKUMATIZED!! Monarch: phaq Edit: I'm pretty sure they added that baking scene because monarch followed the smell of croissants at like, 11pm!
*Pros & cons about Destruction:* + We see a bridge being formed from Evolution to Multiplication, where we see the rings being made with the science. + We now know more about the powers of the Kwami's and especially the Rooster, which confirms it has some conditions as a nerf. + Monarch isn't that stupid like in Evolution, where he straight up uses the miraculous without a plan. - Why didn't take Ladybug any miraculous from Monarch when they hold him tied up? It doesn't make sense to me. - I also don't get why her parents are shown while Alya & Marinette are having a sleepover. It would make more sense if they talked more. - Why is Monarch so quiet when he is in Marinette's room to the Kwami's? Is it because he is confused about the location? This episode showed us 2 scenes (Monarch being tied up & Monarch in Marinette's bedroom) where Ladybug & Cat Noir/Monarch could've easily won with getting back all the miraculouses/getting to know who's Ladybug. It's also weird he didn't use any more powers, like he used to do in Evolution & Multiplication. It shows Gabriel is better in stealth mode, with use the miraculous from a distance.
the issue is that Gab started killing himself from overuse of power in evolution. As mentioned in Kwami-buster, Miraculous will drain users of their life if they have too many on. The kwami can self support one use of their powers using their own energy. after that they either have to transform back if they're kids as they can't sustain the kwamis properly on their own, or an adult user fuels further uses of the power using their own energy. A single Kwami and adult holder can use the powers many times over without any significant issues, however, it's implied that the kwami has a passive drain on their holders. only one is no problem, but as marientte showed, wearing all of them is enough to make you almost pass out. Gab wore all of them for an extended Period of time and was rapidly transforming constantly to the point He started passing out. He literally exhausted His own energy and the Kwamis told him to feed them so they could keep being used. Gaberiel has shown some extremely carelessness in regards to the miraculous, and this episode seems to indicate He learned the harsh lesson pretty well. He only uses 2 at a time to avoid over taxing himself and only when absolutely needed.
@@liltmarshall8717 I'm mad because I expect concepts from the Miraculous they're based off to be about the kwami their power is based off on or their holder. That is actually a valid reason to be angry!

How is having the power to track the Ladybug and Cat a Wish and not a power? He's not demanding the ability to just HAVE the things, he wants to be able to track Miraculous. That's a power.
You want to know something disturbing: I think Monarch/Gabriel destroyed the Miraculous with those lasers with the Kwamis INSIDE THEM! He physically hurt them with burning, mentally hurt them by taunting them & threatening them & has trapped them in glass bowls like lab animals ready for dissection. 🤮

@@Blbabyyluvv12 Want to know something REALLY horrible & disgusting? What Gabriel is doing to his son & Kagami in Season 5 is Human Trafficking. He is committing Involuntary Servitude with his son, & it looks like Gabriel & Tamoe are putting Adrien & Kagami into a Forced Marriage. If you think it is an Arranged Marriage, it is not: "A forced marriage is where one or both people do not or cannot consent to the marriage and pressure or abuse is used to force them into the marriage & is usually secretly planned." Forced Marriage is part of the crime Involuntary Servitude, which comes under the crime of Human Trafficking & violates Human Rights. It is a Forced Marriage, because Adrien & Kagami never gave consent, it looks like no one else outside of Gabriel & Tamoe knows about this (other than Nathalie, who is unsurprisingly disgusted), Gabriel & Tamoe threaten to take away their children's freedom if they don't do as they're told & use coercion on them & someone pointed out that Adrien could be the price to give Tamoe as part their contract between their businesses. 🤮🤮🤮
3:32 I think it’s because she technically is the holder. Because all other “holders” like Carapace, Viperion, Vesperia, Purple Tigress etc… are only temporary holders, more like borrowers. Because Marinette always gets the miraculous’s back because they belong to her overall and she only lends them to others. However with Alya, Alya had to renounce Trixx because she has the fix miraculous permanently, meaning she really was Trixx’s holder and not just a borrower. So Gabe isn’t actually the Kwamis holder he’s more like a “borrower”. And he can give them orders cuz he has the jewels, but not the actual title of holder
In retrospect, I personally prefer the older costume, mainly just because the scene of Gabe destroying the miraculi horrified me, like, I found that really terrifying for whatever reason.
Does he need to know which room to teleport to? Can't he just ask Kalkki to teleport him to the place that smells like croissants? Edit to add: if he gets the ladybug miraculous, then he's gonna need easy access to his ears! The costume is just ugly but at least it could make sense in the canon 😂
So we all are gonna ignore the fact that this episode is happening before episode 2.... Where Monack is missing and no one knows why.... In this episode the last time we see him he gets cataclysm.... A normal person would think he dead, but chat seems to not care at all in that episode.... Wtf

SAME! That was my main complaint with episode 1
Better yet, they could've taken the bee miraculous and used it to paralyze him. Game over.
All gabe would have to say to ruin this entire plan is:
"Kwaamis I order you, tell me if Marinette knows Ladybug's true identity."
If her adress is fair game then this should be too.
If I was Marienette, I'd take the bee off Gabriel while he goes through the portal, transform, venom him, and take the miraculouses
The episode title was very deceptive, we all thought "destruction" would focus on Plagg and Adrien, but I think the ending could open an interesting opportunity for his character. With him feeling guilt over using Cataclysm on an actual person might make him more hesitant to use it in the future.
What if it actually does the opposite of make him hesitant to use his cataclysm, what if it ends up making him more reckless with the power…
Where can I find this episode?
@Yoli i Dani Dude you are a legend thank you!
I think the titles just mean that thats power that will be the most important in the episode. Evolution consists of the bunny miraculous. Multiplication,Jubilation etc
And it didn’t even do anything in the end like he still got away :/
The fact that we saw more of Marinette's parents than Adrien 💀
ikr especially in the episode *named after* Adrien's Miraculous.
imo they could have shortened the part of the episode where Mari explains her plan to Alya ... a lot of it felt repetitive and unnecessary ... and instead used that time to focus more on Adrien and the psychological stuff he was feeling having just Cataclysmed someone.

Mini spoiler alert 📢
In one of season 5's episodes we will see a Marinette flash back of why shes a stalker or something
Exactly! Thank you!
Yeah! Parts of this should be running along when Marinette was the guardian in season 4 😴 other example of show and don't tell I guess...
Where can I find this episode?
Yeah, I was happy when I saw still 8 minutes left after Monarch had escaped. Then got disappointed when I realized a big chunk of it is the episode repeating itself.
The only thing I hope for is that Gabriel does NOT get some kind of redemption because at this point he does not deserve it
No, he does not deserve any redemption, not after abusing his son, human trafficking & Kwami trafficking, experimenting on the Kwamis & destroying the Miraculous for those rings.
This guy is an a-hole! 😡
Daddy Gabriel does nothing wrong.

*The Bubbler*
Gabriel neglects his son so much, he doesn't do ANYTHING for his birthday & son feels alone & neglected. He has even not cared BEFORE Emilie disappeared, he does not care! The year Emilie dissappear, he got even more neglectful.
*Sandboy*
Nooroo wants to see his friends for his birthday. Gabriel threatens him to never try & do that again by taking away his mouth "for a joke". Then when Gabriel (as Hawkmoth) gets contact with the Kwamis, threatened them with saying he'll catch them & make them his slaves. That all aged well since Season 5...
*Cat Blanc*
He KNOWS Cat Noir is his son...so he shows him his dead mum, THROWS him off a building & into the Eiffel Tower, all to traumatise him just so he can emotionally manipulate him to make him a weapon. His own son then ATTEMPTS S*ICIDE & ends up destroying everything! He then spends months alone as Cat Blanc & goes psychotic.
*Ephemeral*
Finds out his son is Cat Noir again. He once again shows him his dead mum & emotionally manipulates him, this time he is apathetic & unresponsive, even when Gabriel takes away Plagg from him, & KILLS Marinette to get Tikki...then ends the world just for a selfish wish for power.
*Risk*
Forces his son with Lila against his will, just for his modelling job
*Evolution*
Is very abusive to the Kwamis & Nathalie & treats all of them like slaves
*Multiplication*
Gabriel did let his son go from his frustrating time consuming modelling job, but he only did that to replace him with a CGI ad where he's in love with Lila just to sell his Human & Kwami Trafficking Rings.
*Destruction*
He destroys the Miraculous just to make those Kwami Trafficking Rings while the Kwamis are INSIDE THEM. He puts the Kwamis in glass fishbowls, like cages. He also threatens them. He is abusing magic animals & is making money from it by selling those human trafficking rings & USING his son for it. Also, he traumatised his own son by getting him to Cataclysm his arm. That's his own fault, not Cat Noir's!
*Miraculous New York*
Attempted to start WWIII by having Technopirate launch nukes from the USA to France, just so he can get the Miraculous.
*Miraculous Shanghai*
Bribed a Pawn Shop thug to steal Miraculous related stuff from Fei's father, BY KILLING HIM! YEARS before the show takes place...while Emilie is alive. He made Fei an orphan & ruined her life!
*Season 5 Emilie spoilers*
Speaking of which, there is a clip of Emilie that will appear at some point in Season 5 where Nathalie is watching recordings left behind by Emilie, presumably before she died.
He doesn't, that's also why the show decided to make him more acting by revenge than trying to revive his wife...
@@matthewbraith0411 what world do you live in?
Theories why it was called "Destruction":
Gabriel got cataclysmed which is a huge highlight in this episode.
The rest of the stolen miraculouses were forged into rings that almost looked like the cat miraculous of destruction.
The rest of the stolen miraculouses were destroyed.
Or Alya's phone got destroyed 😂
or all of your theories are right 😂
Or common sense was taken away and destroyed
Ok, but like... this is the second time Monarch has been tied up by Ladybug and BOTH TIMES she doesn't immediately strip monarch of all the miraculous he has on as fast as she can. I'm still passed over when he just passes out during Evolution, and she hesitates to grab the bunny and just stalls.
It's like those scenes were written when Gabriel only had the butterfly miraculous. But instead he goes around wearing them all (without any consequences) and Ladybug just waits until he politely surrenders.
@@everythinggirly916 For real the writers aren't thinking about using common sense when the audience is supposed to believe the situation is dire.
they need to make the seasons continue somehow- usually with incredible convoluted plans and no common sense
Yeah. Also..? if Gabriel did take off with ladybugs lucky charm it is rather confusing how she has it in the episodes next.
I kind of want to see the misadventures of Monarch following the "follow the croissant" clues and ending up in the wrong place.
The fact that Gabriel was able to destroy the "indestructable" miraculouses but the power of destructruction wasn't enough to destroy him. Remember how we had instances of Cat Noir almost using his power on himself? And now it's not even that big of a deal.🤦♀
I appreciate this episode for altering the formula and showing us that Marinette still has her smarts from Kwami Buster.

With a name like destruction there is sooooo much more they could've done with it, like centre it around chat noir or mention chat blanc or literally anything that makes the title feel relevant beyond just having Chat Noir cataclysm Monarch.
I think Destruction refers to not only Cat Noir using his power on Monarch's arm but also destruction of Miraculouses.

Gabe is too smooth brain to realize that that the rooster can give any power (exept for another Qwamii's, or a wish), including resurrection.
I think I understand the bit about the kwamis only saying Ladybug:
Since Marinette is still their guardian and she didn't actually give Gabe all the miraculous, they would still be loyal to her and not Gabe even though he has all of them.
Or, could be in Miracle Queen when Fuu gave up possession of them he specifically said Ladybug, not Marinette, was the next guardian.
Oof I hope that wasn't the case 😅I always thought the first design was intentionally bad because he was wearing so many miraculouses at the same time.
If that’s true, they didn’t do a good job

I couldn't really care for the first 15 minutes, but that last quarter where the plan becomes clear and we actually see some degree of intelligence from both parties shows off why Ladybug was written with such a complex-working power.
He also knows there are a bunch of other girls at that school who could be lady bug.

This episode wouldn't work for him. This was clearly about the kwamis and the guardian
It irks me that Monarch didn't think of using Wind dragon to escape the trap he was in, it worked for him multiple times in Evolution
Don't be foolish, everyone knows you can only use a good idea once in a show like this. Like why become scarlet moth again despite the fact he can create a sentimonster catalyst to boost his powers instead of natalie, or using the rooster miraculous to attain the same result.
So that’s what happens when cat noir uses his power on a human
I guess this episode was called "Destruction" because of Adrien actually using his Cataclysm on Gabe, because this had nothing to do with the Black Cat Miraculous or Cat Noir at all. He was barely even in the episode.
I personally think the parents scene was very wholesome and sweet, common man.
Are. You. Doing.
Even my seven year old niece was losing her mind at the lack of common sense
Just use the ox and snake! Half of monarch's problems will be solved
He's blinded by power & is a corrupt man who doesn't deserve redemption or life.
After taking another look at Gabriel, he looks like a wicked scientist! (Especially with that white hair & glasses!)
Technically, he doesn't have the Miraculous anymore, he destroyed them for those rings, the freaking NERVE he has! Slave driver! 😡
Several things got destroyed in the episode, one way or another
it is a reflection of his own insanity and prolonged dual metamorphosing with other kwami that affected the hawk moth suit which led to the creation of that, or nooroo adapted to what it is he's feeling which is the constant anger and rage and its a reflection of those emotions that can cause the Hawk Moth suit to adapt
you saying that Hawkmoth's inner self has changed enough to warrant a new costume?
It was okay I thought I’d see Plagg though and didn’t so a little disappointed
Exactly! Plagg and Adrien should've been seen more in this episode! And they both got nothing!
I really enjoyed this episode
i think what the kwamis meant from
“ladybug is still their holder “
They mean since she is still there guardian and makes the rules for the miraculous
I think being the guardian has special set of rules
they aren’t wrong though ladybug is still their holder/guardian and since she didn’t rennouce her role as guardian she still has some authority over them of what they can share or say
"Kalki use your power to teleport me to Monarchs home!" Or idk, telling kalki to port himself home if he gets catched....
Classic "it happened at one point in TVLand and now it happens everywhere," trope.
I thought this episode was pretty bad honestly. Nothing really happened in my opinion.
Exactly . The only thing that mattered started after they showed Gabriel's injury from cataclysm (which I hope will mean something)
Exactly!
Oh no… if that’s the case, they could also use it to undo any character development they may have from here on out, including the reveal. Again. 🧍🏽
Oh yeah thats actually brilliant but the lucky charms disappear when ladybug detransform
(From a narrative POV I also enjoy seeing how regular folk are trying to join the fight against Hawk Moth, and Tom doing it through cheerfully-agressively baking is so on point!)
the ears forshadow deflegration when he gets the ladybug miraculous
The idea that Monarch used the snake miraculous to rule out the wrong bakeries actually sounds like it might be cannon.

I feel like the cataclysm is slowly going to spread and get really bad and in the end if he ever gets the ladybug and cat miraculous he’ll have to decide wether he wants to heal himself or save Emily and tbh I think he’s going to choose to heal because he’s gotten to wrapped up in having lots of power which we saw in evolution.
also I have a question if Gabriel did take off with ladybugs lucky charm it is rather confusing how she has it in the episodes next.

6:33 Yeah the Kwamis can't lie bit doesn't seem true cause Plagg lies the most!
The amount that I laughed, when I saw monarch slowly going through the portal like he was in quicksand
Let’s go Xupu! You tell him 😂
Well since Marinette is still the guardian of the miraculous it means that the kwamis cannot reveal the identity of the guardian of the miraculous box. That also means that Marinette when she gets them all back, cannot ask who Monarch is/was because he was a holder of the miraculous for a period of time. The holders are the people that are given a miraculous and/or take it, with or without the guardian's permission and transform with said miraculous. Also it is said that they can't reveal any direct and PERSONAL information on guardian's or holders which I suspect includes addresses, names, phone numbers, schools, y' know stuff like that.
i am so disappointed i thought adrien will get a powerup like ladybug and he gonna be able to launch destruction bolts and create black holes
couldn’t monarch use the rooster miraculous to give himself the power of healing and fix his arm?
( THIS IS SAID SOFTLY ) NURU HAS BEEN STUCK IN GABE’S HOUSE FOR AWILE HE CAN’T POSSIBLY KNOW WHO LADYBUG IS?
8:17-9:01 this is what I was waiting for when watching this video
I kind of like Monarchs costumes. His masks however, could be better.
Shadow Moth is my favorite, but is underutilized
he became a living joke....

Tom: OUR CROISSANTS WILL MAKE EVERYONE SO HAPPY THAT NO ONE CAN GET AKUMATIZED!!
Monarch: phaq
Edit: I'm pretty sure they added that baking scene because monarch followed the smell of croissants at like, 11pm!
That cataclysmed arm will be Monarch’s undoing
*Pros & cons about Destruction:*
+ We see a bridge being formed from Evolution to Multiplication, where we see the rings being made with the science.
5:47 "Sneak into a teenager's bedroom? For shame." He's a villain dude! He doesn't care about common courtesy.
Funny he asks the rooster for time travel but he could've used second chance when alix took it from him
I really wish cat noir was the main character in season 5
Not really possible. It'll always be Mari's show especially now that she's guardian, and told alya and got the miraculous stolen
Same! He needs more screen time with Plagg. He needs to hang out with Kagami Again. Ect!
@@liltmarshall8717 Does it look like I give a f***?
@@FeligamiAdrizoeSworaDooplivian I wasn't talking to u in the first place. And also your mad and rude for no reason
@@liltmarshall8717 I'm mad because I expect concepts from the Miraculous they're based off to be about the kwami their power is based off on or their holder. That is actually a valid reason to be angry!
Ngl I was not expecting the episodes in S5 to be so good so far.
That first half of the episode... Smooth brain was understatement of the year this time :P
the first half of the episode was good. i'm curious to see if adrien will notice the wound on his father and connect the dots. but the second half was so boring, just an explanation of the plan 🥱
why? if Gabriel did take off with ladybugs lucky charm it is rather confusing how she has it in the episodes next.
How is having the power to track the Ladybug and Cat a Wish and not a power? He's not demanding the ability to just HAVE the things, he wants to be able to track Miraculous. That's a power.
4:42 lol I didn’t think of that I totally support that theory! 100% cannon!
Yes, I have dropped things out of shock. Including food. It's the free part of fight or flight that nobody talks about.
I think the thing I'm enjoying the most about season 5 is how it's the least formulaic season.
Yeah that irked me.. idk why they put such gruesome stuff into this kids series. Also why for the lucky charm! that mari lost.. if Gabriel did take off with ladybugs lucky charm it is rather confusing how she has it in the episodes next.
If you think it is an Arranged Marriage, it is not:
"A forced marriage is where one or both people do not or cannot consent to the marriage and pressure or abuse is used to force them into the marriage & is usually secretly planned."
Forced Marriage is part of the crime Involuntary Servitude, which comes under the crime of Human Trafficking & violates Human Rights.
At least Nooroo isn't alone it's still bad but he's not alone
Maybe gabe should take up a new tradition PAINTING the fridge that he keeps his wife’s dead corpse.
🤣🤣🤣
You're not wrong actually
I still mad about the fact Marinette and Adrien didn't just snag the miraculous off Monarch when he was unconscious...
So we all are gonna ignore the fact that this episode is happening before episode 2.... Where Monack is missing and no one knows why.... In this episode the last time we see him he gets cataclysm.... A normal person would think he dead, but chat seems to not care at all in that episode.... Wtf
Monarch will continue to attack Ladybug for sure !!
I wonder what consequences will there be if the jewels were destroyed ?
So glad it's finally here!
