      I think you forgot to put Jason's video in. I started doing 24 hour fasts to help. I can't say I'm in a stall because I do lose 1 to 2 pounds a month but it's not enough. I need my knee replaced and the doctor won't do it until I have lost a significant amount of weight. I will work up to longer fasts when I stop crying how hungry I am with the 24 hour one 🤪

    I think the beautiful part of Carnivore is that it truly is an elimination diet. When I started, I kept dairy in my diet. I ate a lot of cheese & sour cream to help keep things “normal” as I transitioned to full Carnivore. I stalled. I still felt bloated. I was still experiencing aches and pains. I removed the cheese, heavy cream & sour cream and boom! That was it. That was what was holding me back. I eliminated (most) of it and continued to drop weight and feel better. Oddly enough too, garlic powder on my steaks was causing inflammation and water retention as well. Once I eliminated that, my weight dropped again and I felt better.

Went keto for 2yrs and never lost more than 10lbs, finally went carnivore in 2020 and lost 80lbs in the next 2 yrs. Went back to keto last year and gained 30 back😮, after TG made the choice to return to carnivore and feeling so much better in only 1 week! Thanks for supporting your mom and others like her & me. I’m 59 years old and weight loss didn’t start happening until I did a liver cleanse and started walking 3 miles a day, 5 days a week and fasting…prolonged fasting. I am doing OMAD and sticking to keto. I tried carnivore but it wasn’t for me. I do think it’s good though if you can do it. So after not losing but 2 lbs the first 4 months of last year, I started doing what I said up above and by October I had lost 30 lbs. consistency and do not ever give up!!

      Tricia, I am 58 years old and you have described my experience perfectly. I do not lose weight without 48 hour fasting at least once a month along with everything else you mentioned. I would add that eating fat seems to enhance weight loss for me. Butter bites and homemade cracklins in the air fryer, that much fat goes against my brain but my body loves it.

    • @d.wilbur5164
      @d.wilbur5164 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Karen_Busch I too don't overeat meat. My protein macro is 75 grams. To up my calories, I added bacon every day in my first meal. Always three slices and throughout my eating window, I keep eating the bacon grease from the pan. I honestly seem to crave it. That will definitely raise your fat intake, which obviously ups your calories. The most important thing I've learned is patience in my weight loss journey. It's taken me a little more than 2.5 years to lose 30 lbs. I never lost more than 2 lbs a week and often I lost none. Being a woman, I know that we often start eating less thinking we'll lose and that does not work. I love my bacon grease :).

      @d.wilbur5164 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Karen_Busch Oh, I also increased the number of yolks I ate in a day. Almost every day I eat one whole egg with 2-3 yolks. That adds more fat and ups calories.

      I'm 46. Started at 200.8 and am now 176.4 before my birthday mid November, I made it to 171.0 but I fell off the wagon and didn't get back in the saddle til January. I was 177.6 when I restarted. To be fair, the first 3 weeks of January were a Rollercoaster of doing good 3 or 4 days and then cheating 1 or 2. 🙄 So I guess I've been consistent for just 4 weeks. I'm losing inches as I can tell by my clothing fit and my profile. But the scale really isn't moving. I'm not that close to my goal of 125 to 130 either. I have almost 50 pounds to go. I understand a stall when you just have 20 or less pounds to lose but gee whiz. 😒😜

    Because of this channel I started the carnivore diet on 1 Nov 22 to reduce my A1C. I was 209 lbs and did Zero sugar, Zero carbs (or 5% at best), water and black coffee, two meals a day at 10AM and 6PM. 60 days in I was down about 20 lbs, mid Jan another 5 lbs and today I weighed in at 173 so 36 lb loss over 107 days. My A1C went from 6.3 to 5.4 at the 90 day mark. I introduced some carbs back into my diet around mid Jan.
    During this time I was on metformin 500mg twice a day. I look at the weight loss as a side effect of reducing my A1C vice needing to lose weight, that was a bonus item.

    • @Mr_D555

      I can report that it's been almost 6 months since I started this diet and I'm holding at 177-180 lbs so a total loss of call it 30 lbs. I have introduced carbs back into my diet but watch what and how much I eat. I'm still 100% water and black coffee only and no sweets, two meals a day only.

      @Renee Harris I have to admit that I have texture issues with fat. I can't (won't) eat meat fat, except maybe bacon. I've been like that since I was little. (I would choose to eat kidney instead of the stew meat when my mom made a stew just because stew meat had fat all through it. What kid does that?) Day 56 and I haven't lost any weight. I'm eating close to 2,000 kcal, give or take. I only need to lose 10 lbs + body recomposition. Walking everyday 90-120 minutes. Strength training 2x a week.

    Thanks for sharing your stories, since watching this video I have started to watch more of your channel. In one of the videos, can't find it now :( you talked about cooking Meat things or Beef things, crispy pieces of slow cooked beef then cooked in the air fryer. Could you do a video on cooking these? They sound amazing and I would love to be able to make them myself but can't find where you talked about it :(. once again thanks for the content, I'm new to the Carnivore diet and finding your content very helpful

    How do you explain losing weight to your ideal body weight and then gaining 25 pounds eating the same amount of food you did when you lost the weight?

    • @ketovorecpa242
      @ketovorecpa242 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is exactly what happened to me during the pandemic and I still haven't gotten back down even after moving from ketovore to carnivore for the past year. Next step is to fast more than 40 hours at a time and increase exercising with weights 🤷‍♀️

    Laura, just watched one of your vids where you chatted about chicken legs. Try this. I found a on IG and it is amazing. Wash / dry legs. Butterfly them to the bone and I like to flatten them with my palm. Salt pepper etc then air fry. So so crispy and cooks faster. Try it.

    Sugar addiction is my main problem. I didn’t think I could overeat on carnivore, especially if I’m eating OMAD. I will have to try what works best.
    It seems harder after menopause.😅Thanks for the tips!

    • @RV-there-Yet
      @RV-there-Yet ปีที่แล้ว +11

      YES! "It seems harder after menopause" because it dang IS😂(imho) Never in my life have I had any trouble dropping excess weight; after childbirth, etc.~ anywhere from 20 to 50lbs, soon as I set my mind to it- boom it was gone. Then came my 50's & gaining an add'l 40 lbs over 5 yrs or so~ good grief it's been a struggle!
      *The part Chris & Laura discussed re; changing things up is super important~ so is consistency, meaning stick w/it regardless of how often it needs adjusting. The sugar addiction is real, & for me it just has to be none~ no sugar alcohols or low carb "treats". It took a solid 6 mo's in my case to stop thinking about ways to incorporate "healthy sweets"- for me, it's a lie~no such thing. The bacon, butter & meats had to naturally become more desirable than a sweet taste. I'm finally there, but not w/out some serious determination. My health & longevity had to become more important than sugar-free caramel or chocolate. It is. =)

    I have finally started having success when I started out with a big breakfast of 4 eggs, bacon and cheese and then only had an afternoon snack like 4 slices of ham and cheese in the afternoon. Then nothing else. I registered my body didn’t want or need another big meal. It needed the time to digest

      let me know. my weight has stalled in the meanwhile. but then I was advised to go more for fresh meat, which is what I did. I eat a lot of duck and pig. It does well with me and i don´t understand why people complain so much about pork. it gets me super satisfied. but i cut out bacon. it is too processed most times unless you get it from a real butcher. try to cut out the dairy except for butter and aim for 1,4grams of protein per kg of bodyweight. for me this is 450 to 500 grams of fresh meat per day. then you add a quater of that weight in extra fat. so an additional 100- 125grms of fat. i go for garlic butter. so actually I eat more now than before. but sometimes the day after i will eat a smaller meal. then the day after a bigger meal again...I have not been stressing out about the scale anymore and just relaxed and didn´t do much weightlifting or anything lately... it stresses my metabolism too much i figured. And see there- the weight is coming off again. down another 2,5kg in 2 months. from 76,5 kg to 73 now. the weightloss starts to slow down but it´s still coming down even if sometimes you feel discouraged and like nothing is happening. don´t be irritated by this and don´t stop! just relax and keep going! try to really tune in and listen to your body. eat when you feel there is a need to eat. eat until satiety. don´t restrict. eat in a time window of max. 6 hours. i eat at 11 and 2pm afternoon just the smaller snack as mentioned. yesterday 2 boiled eggs and a beef patty. bigger meal for breakfast. give it time don´t sress about the number on the scale. maybe even put the scale away for a while and relax. if you feel exhausted don´t work out. if you feel tired go to sleep! good sleep has helped me most I believe in this combination @@TiffanyinMgcity

    I just CANNOT eat enough on carnivore. Im never hungry (although i havent tried fasting more than 36hrs) and nothing really appeals to me. Im recovering from surgery so dont want to go without protein too long, but if i force myself to eat, i just have to stop after 4-5 bites.

      I used to be able to eat a whole large pizza and and top it off with a huge piece of cake for desert. That was likely 3000 calories in one meal. After just a month in I realized that I could only eat one small chicken thigh. Now, at nine weeks in, I'm in a bit of a stall. I'm down 27 pounds and super happy about it so I will just try to be patient :)

    I'm overweight and undereating because I'm unemployed, not on food stamps, and don't have enough money left for whole meals. I have to save what little is left for gas to get to the food pantry and interviews. I am forced to fast because of this, but haven't lost weight. I've stayed the same. It's probably the immense stress and pantry food selection. I am blessed for the food, although it's mostly carbs. I exercise and walk, but am a little weak from the low calories. I'm new to your channel, but hope to learn more from it. What does your doctor think about this diet? Do they give you lectures about cholesterol and red meats or heart disease? Or...is your doctor supportive after seeing your results?

      I will start this by saying I have absolutely no medical training or education whatsoever. I would suggest you are feeling so poor because of the nutrition levels of your food themselves. You mentioned you haven’t lost weight, meaning you aren’t in any caloric deficit. You are eating enough calories, but probably just empty carbs that don’t fuel your body too well. I understand your situation is extremely tough now and you don’t have access to better food at the moment, but I would suggest a more balanced diet with better proteins, along with fruits and vegetables, even though this channel would advise a carnivore strict diet. I hope this helps a bit, good luck!

      Do you qualify for food stamps or have you applied? If you haven't applied I would try to see if you qualify. I live on a very low income so I get food stamps and go to the pantry maybe once a month. I hope you things change in your favor.

      I feel your pain. I’ve been in this same situation. And even now I really have to budget. What I do, and as expensive as they might seem, is eat eggs. They are full of nutrients and satisfying. And a lot cheaper in the end then empty carbs that might fill your stomach for an hour or two but then you’re ravenous. The same for me with fruit and veggies, I’m starving in an hour or two. And they are very expensive. I always have boiled eggs on hand. And when on sale, I stock up on packages of tuna. You’re in a very tough situation. Good luck.

      I'm not sure what country you're in if you're in the u.s.a. if you go to the Dollar tree like one of the bigger ones they have a frozen food section .... And I know you sell eggs there and they would be a dollar for a carton with the price of eggs changing and with everything else I'm not sure what exactly they would have as far as like eggs hot dogs hamburger meat some fish all in the frozen food section but when I was going through a period where I was really struggling with money I bought food from the dollar store
