    ROUND 3… 2’s
06… Fiona Apple - The Idler Wheel (2012)… Not sure about this one, For me it is 50/50, there is nothing that I would personally take from this but that set aside; it is quality stuff… 4*
05… Ray Charles - Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music (1962)… A very good album, it was on my list also… Of the songs I know that are covers (most) I either prefer the original or other versions… That does not take away from how good this album is and how good his versions are… 4.5*
04… Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights (2002)… This might surprise you, I actually like this album, it’s my first time hearing it and have given it a few runs through, not sure if the rest of their catalogue sounds anything like this… 4.5*
03… The Cure - Pornography (1982)… It's a dark but glorious album ... Not a lot more to say, a great album from one of my absolute favourite bands... The Cure I’m sure will get at least one 1st placing from me, just not this time… 4.75*
02… David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust (1972)… Fantastic album and I fully understand why it’s seen as one his best, if not his best… Have never ranked Bowie, for me it would be a tough listen, I personally like very little after Scary Monsters… There are other Bowie albums that I personally prefer, Ziggy has never been a favourite of mine, still, it has some of my favourite Bowie tracks on it… 5*
01… Morrissey - Your Arsenal (1992)... There is nothing that I can add to your description... 5*
    From my first placings:-
06… The Drifters - Save The Last Dance For Me (1962)... Unusually for an album of the pre Beatles/Dylan era, there is nothing that I dislike on it; even the weaker cuts are decent… This is a strong album and it sucks to put it last… 4.5*… Next time will be the beginning of the 60’s fight back…
05… Go-Kart Mozart - On The Hot Dog Streets (2012)… A new artist for me and in at #1... For my money it’s Lawrence’s best album… 4.5*
04… XTC - English Settlement (1982)… I didn’t always love XTC, they took a while to grow… Again never ranked them but I believe this album would definitely make my top five, so there are XTC albums that I prefer… 4.75*
03… The Coral - The Coral ... (2002)… I liked the Coral as soon as I heard them, one of their best in my opinion… 5*
02… Morrissey - Your Arsenal (1992)... ‘Your Arsenal’ was a very narrow winner for 1992, XTC - Nonsuch ran it very close, the decider as always was, which one would choose to listen to the most... 5*
01… T.Rex - The Slider (1972)… Very, very close between Ziggy, Transformer & Slider and even closer between Lou & Marc, both albums are two of my absolute favourites but I rarely tire of Bolan’s best work, so it takes the win… 5*
    70’s… 6pts, 90’s… 5pts, 00’s… 4pts, 80’s… 3pts, 10’s… 2pts, 60’s… 1pt … R3
    70’s… 11pts…80’s… 11pts…90’s… 8pts…00’s… 6pts…60’s… 3pts…10’s… 3pts… … AFTER R2...
    RUNNING TOTAL…
    1st - 70’s… 17pts,
    2nd - 80’s…14pts,
    3rd - 90’s… 13pts,
    4th - 00’s… 10pts,
    5th - 10’s… 5pts,
    6th - 60’s… 4pts…

Oh shit yeah... I totally forgot about On the HotDog Streets! That probably would be my favourite of 2012 too. D'oh! 🤯

As for Interpol... I love that band. The discography ranker I made says everything you need to know. Only one LP under 4 stars for me personally. Their discography is well worth checking out. The first time you hear C'Mere or Evil or Lights or even Pioneer to the Falls... Oh yeah!!! Amazing tracks!

@@tokyochuchu I would have missed it too but I had a look at some of the recent deep dives just to see if anything new stood a chance... 🙂

Fun story about Interpol just for you Ste... It was the end of the Britpop era. I was still lamenting the decline of bands such as Gene, Shed Seven and My Life Story. I was completely unaware of 1980s post-punk, save for some interactions with Echo & the Bunnymen. Then one day... BAM! Here's Interpol.
The first time I ever heard Interpol lives forever in my memory. I was making out hot and heavy with this beautiful Japanese girl, MTV playing in the background. Then PDA comes on and I stopped making out, sat bolt upright and exclaimed; "Who is this?! I need this f**king record!" I didn't even know music like that existed! 🤣

Not familiar with Fiona Apple the rest are all good. It is a bit of a easy choice but David Bowie would top my list 2nd is Morrissey, 3rd The Cure, 4th Interpol. Some Ray Charles songs are known to me and are very good, so he is in 5th
