Fun fact: John Cale, formerly of The Velvet Underground, who Siouxsie heavily admires, produced five of the songs on The Rapture lp. She also covered Cale's song Gun on the Looking Glass album and The Creatures went on tour with Cale in 1997.

Oasis are my favourite band and the reason I am into music. They changed my life. I enjoyed this video and it was very well balanced. Good commentary and critique was reasonable and all sensible too. My Oasis album ranked: 1 WTSMG 2 Definitely Maybe 3 Be Here Now 4 Don’t Believe The Truth 5 SOTSOG 6 Heathen Chemistry 7 Dig Out Your Soul With both HC and DOYS half the album is amazing, half the songs are right up there - but the lesser songs are very weak and just not good enough for Oasis’ standards. Still, DOYS at 7th is a pretty good listen - it’s a different sound, style and vibe but the five great songs are wow (Shock of the Lightning, Falling Down, Waiting for the Rapture, The Turning, Bag It Up) Oasis are brilliant

Strongly disagree with you over "And Then There Were Three". That's one of their best! I also disagree with "Invisible Touch". That should be much higher. Great album! My worst to best list would be: 1. Calling All Stations (1997) 2. From Genesis to Revelation (1969) 3. We Can't Dance (1991) 4. Wind & Wuthering (1976) 5. Abacab (1981) 6. Trespass (1970) 7. Like the singles from Cast but did not know John Power went solo, only had a quick listen but had some good ones on it, he knows how to do catchy songs. ATTW3 being 3rd worst album is actually a bit of a joke. I wonder if you are even a Genesis fan or a fair commentator in that you haven't really listened to this album properly. Down and out, Burning Rope, Deep in the motherlode, say its alright joe, the lady lies - all better than anything on the post Duke albums with the possible exception of domino, home by the sea and dodo\lurker and me and sarah jane. ATTW3 is easily the most underrated Genesis album and although it does have some poor moments like ballad of big and follow you, follow me, it also has some real highlights that should not be ignored. To think that this is a worse album than we can't dance is baffling to me. The same arguments you made about we cant dance are all magnified when compared to ATTW3 and the highlights are nowhere near as high.

    • @grahamharley4895

At last a kindred spirit! I didn't wake up to them until ATTW3 and Duke, both great and hooked me. Abacab was such a disappointment I then explored backwards to Trespass. Favourite tracks Firth of forth and Burning rope. Forget pretty much everything after Duke. 'Musical box' live on the Midnight Special is well worth a look/listen.

Boooooo... (But you knew that already, haha...) Cheesy synths? Don't care. Especially if I'm in the mood. "C'mon Collapse", "If I Get to Feel You", etc. - I could pinpoint the exact synths in question! Give me "Classic Orchestra Hit 001" preset, I don't care - the songs are fun & catchy! 😆 Weak melodies or whatever? Disagree. And the title track is better than any modern Incubus song - even many from the same era, and I like Incubus pretty well! Fight me, haha... That chorus is undeniably great, imho. Again, I *like* that the verses are backed by a cousin of the GoldenEye 007 "Cradle" theme! 😂 Sadly, I didn't get around to anything besides Travis this time around. That had its moments, and I think 2.5 is a little harsh, but yeah, expected a bit more. Didn't really feel the "L.A." connection at all! Been curious about that Human League album for years, and will also check out John Powers (and eventually Cast!) I'll stick with Bleed Like Me by Garbage for "next" time. The B-sides are definitely worth checking out too - at least treat yourself to "Betcha"! 😮🥵😆 Hey man, have a great vacation - and see you next time!! ✌

04… ON - Shifting Skin (2000)… I think that it’s ok… 3* 03… Travis - LA Times (2024)… Gaslight, Home, Raze the Bar, The River… It’s ok, it’s been over quarter of a century, ground breaking it is not, I would cherry pick the tracks that I prefer… 3* 02… John Power - Willow She Weeps (2006)… All My Days, Old Red Sea, St, Louis, Goodbye, Willow Weep, Jumpin' Bean… ‘All My Days’ was a favourite of my mums and was played at her funeral; I believe that an early version was recorded for Cast’s debut album ‘All Change’ but never made it… As with all the Cast /Power albums, I have my favourite tracks and just tend to put them all together as a playlist… There is plenty that I love by John Power no matter if it’s with Cast or solo… Cast was my favourite Brit band of the period and still my most listened to these days… I was lucky enough to buy the Japanese import with two extra tracks including one of my all timers ‘Black and White Rainbows’… As much as I like John Power/Cast, none of the albums would score full marks, yet I like them all (even ‘Beetroot’)… Divine Comedy, Pulp, Blur & Oasis all have five star albums, yet I would reach for my Power/Cast playlist before any of the others, not that I have an Oasis playlist!!… I like John’s voice but it does grate on me after a while… 3.5*… 01… Human League - Reproduction (1979)… Almost Medieval, Circus Of Death, The Path Of Least Resistance, The Word Before Last, Empire State Human, Zero As A Limit… Loved HL’s first two albums; ‘Reproduction’ & ‘Travelogue’, shame they split before ‘Dare’, I still enjoyed some of their output but it wasn’t the same… ‘Dare’ is probably the most famous album by them but personally I’m very indifferent about it … Ian Marsh & Martyn Ware went on to form Heaven 17 with Glenn Gregory, initially Marsh & Ware wanted Gregory as the lead singer of HL but he could not join at the time, enter Phil Oakey… I still love this album and compared to some others of the same period this still sounds fresh to me… For my money, this is the Human League’s best album… 4.5*…

Sad Professor off of Up is a strange, beautiful, underrated song. Electrolite off of New Adventures is gorgeous! Murmur will always be the number one album, probably because of how fresh and amazing it sounded at the time. You're right, the band sort of dismissed Fables as a misstep, which I disagree with. Patton Oswalt said something to the effet of "sorry, once you released Fables it became ours, and it's great." What happened to Reckoning?
