    ROUND 2… 1’s
06… P.J Harvey - Let England Shake (2011)... 4* … A good album, she has grown on me a little but the other five are much more my thing…
05… Roy Orbison - Lonely And Blue… (1961)… Only The Lonely, Blue Angel, I'm Hurtin'... Good album, it deserves it's high placing on your ’61 list... I love Roy, right up until the very end his best material spoke for itself, unfortunately not all the material he recorded in the 50’s and 60’s is A grade… 4.25*
04… Kings Of Convenience - Quiet Is The New Loud (2001)... Found these guys through your channel and they have remained on my playlists since… 4.5*…
03… The Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers (1971)… I know many would consider this as one their best; I’ve never even tried to rank their discography, to be quite honest I would know little past the mid 70’s… There are four or five albums by them that I prefer... ‘Wild Horses’ is one of their very best songs but my favourite from this album is ‘You Gotta Move’, It’s the kind of track that endears me to them, they do the old blues thing so well... Not one of my favourite bands though... I prefer them to the Who… 4.5*…
02… Siouxie & The Banshees - Juju… 4.5*(1981)... Always liked the Banshees but never loved them, a great album, easily one of their best…
01… Out Of Time - REM (1991)... 4.5… At one time I hated REM but after doing your ranker I have a new appreciation for them… Without looking, I believe I ranked it third or fourth, though I only found AFTP & Life’s Rich Pageant more to my liking… Not listened to REM since but still think they are stellar…
    From my first placings…
06… Roddy Woomble - The Impossible Song & Other Songs (2011)... 4.25*… Never got into Idlewild, Roddy’s solo work is much more my thing… I bought this album with a breakfast cob and a coke, a very good deal…. Sad to say that I sold it for around the same value a few years later, a good album though, possibly one of, if not his best …
05… Elvis Presley - Something For Everybody (1961)… 4.25*… Again a lot of these late 50’s early 60’s albums all suffer from the lack of top material but nothing that I dislike on this, though it’s not all strong… Orbison is a very close second… It’s strange with Elvis, as a kid he was my idol but these days I’d say I only love about 25% of his output; probably the vast majority of that 25% will be different to most other fans, I have a lot affection for 54-56 & 60-63 and personally am not a huge fan of 67 -77 but even the years I am not fond of have some of his best work…
04… Kings Of Convenience - Quiet Is the New Loud (2001)… Originally not in my ten, now rectified and at #1... 4.5*
03… Morrissey - Kill Uncle (1991)... 4.5*… ‘Kill Uncle’ if I remember rightly wasn’t well received at the time but I have always loved it, easily a Mozza top five album; IMHO…
02… T.Rex - Electric Warrior (1971)… Electric Warrior is one of my all timers, as is Bolan, he was probably the first artist I liked with no influence from others… I would have been six or seven when I first took notice him around 70-72… 5*…
01… OMD - Architecture & Morality... Bought it the week it came out and it stayed on the turntable as long as any that I ever bought… 42 years later it’s still a favourite and as far as synth albums go; it tops of my list, though OMD’s own Dazzle Ships (1983) & Japans - Tin Drum (1981) run it close… 5*...
    The 1’s… 81 6pts, 71 5pts, 91 4pts, 01 3pts, 61 2pts & 11 1pt...
    My running score…
    The 0’s… 70 6pts, 80 5pts, 90 4pts, 00 3pts, 10 2pts & 60 1pt...
    The 1’s… 81 6pts, 71 5pts, 91 4pts, 01 3pts, 61 2pts & 11 1pt...
    70’s… 11pts…
    80’s… 11pts…
    90’s… 8pts…
    00’s… 6pts…
    60’s… 3pts…
    10’s… 3pts…

Agreed on Nevermind vs. Out of Time even though I would (probably) have that one in the bottom half on an overall R.E.M. ranking. Nevermind is certainly a highly influential album but IMO requires a certain mood and beget some seriously regrettable bands and music trends by the 2000’s. Out of Time has a bit of odd track sequencing but overall you get some all-time great tunes for R.E.M. and a nice bridge between the quirkiness of Green and the hyper-focused Automatic for the People.
Nevermind is probably the more influential of the two, but I’d find myself reaching for Out of Time instead most all of the times if presented with that either/or.

Man... this was way more difficult than I expected! Especially since I had basically nothing for 1961 or 1981, haha... (Still don't for 1961 - lots of singles I admire, but to my surprise, I don't think I've explored a single album! I tossed in 2021 so I have 6 albums to play with...) Found a fun one for 1981 in my collection, though... (haven't checked out Siouxsie or OMD yet)
1991 and 2001 suffered from the opposite problem - too many damn choices, could change at a moment's notice, etc. - just went with what I felt like listening to at the moment...
1961: -- (but I will check out the Roy Orbison LP & Ste's pick...)
1971: Harry Nilsson - Aerial Pandemonium Ballet
1981: Tenpole Tudor - Eddie, Old Bob, Dick and Gary
    1991: Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger
2001: Ben Folds - Rockin' the Suburbs
2011: DJ Shadow - The Less You Know, The Better
    2021: Sleigh Bells - Texis
Now the ranking... hmm... not easy, either! 😩
    1. Harry Nilsson - Aerial Pandemonium Ballet
    2. Sleigh Bells - Texis
    3. Ben Folds - Rockin' the Suburbs
    4. DJ Shadow - The Less You Know, The Better
    5. Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger
    6. Tenpole Tudor - Eddie, Old Bob, Dick and Gary
    [7. 1961]
    Phew! 🥲

Also, I did not do my homework this time - although I do love Out of Time (my first R.E.M. record! ❤"Radio Song" rules!🤘😄) & to some extent Sticky Fingers...
Gonna try to prepare better next time & get an early start on my '2s!

Had a go this time. It was hard.
    1. 1971. Sticky Fingers by Rolling Stones - could be the best they did, top three at least
    2. 1991. Nevermind by Nirvana - only know this and the mtv album by them but would choose it over rem
    3. 2001. Gorillaz by Gorillaz - good project
    4. 2011. Suck It And See by Arctic Monkeys - their second best
    5. 1981. Dare by Human League - good memories from the Human League
    6. 1961. Blue Hawaii by Elvis Presley - the beginning of the sixties is difficult, songs are easy but albums hard. Two Elvis albums both are good
