  • Riptides is located on highway A1A, on the ocean side of the street, in beautiful Ormond Beach, Florida.
They feature a raw oyster bar, as well as many other seafood and non-seafood options.

Great video guy’s, thank you 🙏 food looks yummy 😋 we will have to check that place out. That seat y’all wanted outside was probably reserved besides you got that cool tv with around the world waves you like right! Where there is bad there is good! Where there is good there is bad! YinYang!

Yeah, once I was used to the air conditioning, I would not have wanted to go back out there. It was just the fact that she told us that section was closed.

Derrick, We have been to the North Shore! You would love it! We would suggest for you to start saving now to make that happen. We had a Hawaii fund that we put money into for awhile to make sure we were able to go. We are looking forward to going back one day. Hopefully sooner than later. The restaurant looked like a decent seafood restaurant but not as good as a few others you have been to on this trip. David would have insisted on an answer for why he couldn't have the table and the other customers could have. If it was reserved that's all they had to say. Another great video!

Yeah, the only reason I didn't push that one, was because we had already been seated inside and I was enjoying the air conditioning at that point. We like an outside atmosphere when it's tolerable, and that table was right where the fans were blowing. But it was about 95゚ that day, plus the Florida humidity. We were told the section was closed, and we just figured it had something to do with maybe not enough waitresses that day. It was odd to walk out 10 minutes later, and see another couple sitting right where we had asked to sit.
I've never tried the seafood there, because the ribs are so good. I'm sure some of the other seafood places we visited, were better in that regard. But their ribs are some of the best. And yes, you are correct about setting aside a Hawaii fund. It will be awhile before we can do that one, but that's the way we did our California trip. Guess now is a good time to start saving.

Your thumbnail caught me…thought I would see the actual riptides there, in the water, where you’re staying. Ha! Silly me. You did mention the undertows in the water though As for the waiter who wouldn’t seat you in the ‘special people only’ section, we would have turned tail and left altogether. Your videos of late seem to show you had a great time on Florida. Thx for sharing some of your adventures. Woof to the pups 🐾🐾

Yes, I can see how the name of the restaurant, could be confusing...LOL.
There were some strong riptides in the water, as well. But no, that's just the name of this restaurant.
And as for that thing that happened at Joe's Crab Shack a few years back, I've never forgotten that. We did stay and eat, but even the service we received from the waiter, was not very good. He would walk right past us if we needed a drink refill, to tend to the "special customers" outside on the deck. I don't know what that guy meant when he said that to us, but whatever it was, it could have been worded in a better way.

I remember seeing the video of y'all on the beach when the hurricane was coming in. I have wondered what fried plantains were like. All the food looked good the ribs looked delicious.

I think he meant Shawnasi could sit in the special guest area but Derek looked scary….actually I hate when places do this, we are all guests and customers and employees we need to treat everyone how we want treated it’s part of a good experience even if the food is great poor service imacts the experience

We never did figure out what that guy meant by that. Whatever it was, he probably could have used a better choice of words.

I meant to ask Shawnasi about the pineapple slaw she said she makes sometimes, it sounds great. What all go in it?

I get a bag of coleslaw (at Wal-Mart it's already shredded in the bag). Add mayo, just a little bit of apple cider vinegar, celery salt and crushed pineapple with a little of the juice. I just add and mix to taste. And don't forget a little salt and pepper! 😊 And it's better to let it sit overnight in the refrigerator so the flavors all mix together. Let me know if you make it and how it turns out.

My parents will have their 50 wedding anniversary in December of 2024 and they plan to go to Hawaii for two weeks. I think they will probably spend the majority of my inheritance on that trip 😝

For 25 bucks I better see some big chunks of seafood in that mac and cheese.
