- Where can you get the best, freshest seafood in Florida? In a state known for great seafood, we are going to nominate Hull’s Seafood Restaurant & Market in Ormond Beach as one of the top seafood destinations. As Nicholas Cage would say-that’s high praise. Captain Jimmy Hull has been fishing these waters since he in elementary school, and he began running his first fishing boat by the time he was 20. So yea, this guy knows his seafood. He started his first fish market in 1981 and eventually expanded into a full service restaurant that has become a famous, local establishment. I’ve never eaten there but I am a HHA / CNA and my clients family purchased seafood from there so I can cook for them at home 😊watching this video and looking at all the food you two ordered got me planning a family lunch date for us seafood lovers ❤😊

Back in the 80's, we used to get fresh fish, all the time.. Back then, it was just a market.. Been over 30 years..
Wow-that is really cool. We love these local restaurants and markets that started out as little mom and pop operations and have grown to these special destinations. There ain’t nothing like good, local fresh fish!

I've been eating there for 20 years. When it's good, it's great. Unfortunately since the expansion some visits haven't been so great.
Oh no! We hate to hear that. We have only been twice but really loved it. We hope your next visit is better! Their seafood is so fresh
@@micalebgoeswest I've been hoping that it's just growing pains from the expansion and they'll figure out how to provide the same consistency as years past. When it's good, it's one of my top restaurants I've been to anywhere.

The fish market is by far the best in the area. Originally from New England I love Maine lobster. This is the only fish market I've found that sells them. I don't like female lobsters because of the roe and always ask for a male. I was impressed that Florida boys knew how to sex them.
That’s a really good point about Hull’s lobster knowledge. When we first went we assumed it would just feature Florida seafood, but we were blown away at their offerings in the market and the restaurant menu. It’s become our go-to place in the Daytona area. Thanks so much for watching!

Ha-we live in Florida so not quite the same 😎. We were just so impressed that they had local seafoods and iconic seafoods from other states, all super fresh.

Awe…well hopefully there is something on the menu for happy hour that will work! We went for an early lunch and the prices were a bit cheaper. Hope that helps!
