We have a Steak and Shake here, and it’s a favorite..of course, I don’t go there much due to being on keto. You can’t beat their prices… Glad y’all had a safe trip home.
I used to eat Steak n Shake when I traveled as a child from one coast to the other. They had good food and breakfast. I don’t remember putting chocolate in my soda but it does sound good. I think Sonic does that too. The burgers look tasty and the fries were crispy looking. Glad you had a good time.
Love steak and shake. Use to live close to one. We really enjoyed it. We use to leave our tip on the table say like old school way. But they would ask for tip when you paid for meal. My husband wasn't happy.Lol I don't think he ever forgot that.
We live west of Indianapolis and some of our Steak and Shakes are going out of business. I do love their milkshakes. When we were dating over 49 years ago that was the place to cruise on south side of Indy.
I use to work at Steak n Shake close to 20 years ago. Made some great off menu items. One I recommend is order a milk shake but ask for cherry syrup instead and a couple of splashes of coke mixed in. A cherry coke shake. It's good. One I miss also was this I guess you would call it a Chili 10 way added a bunch of additional toppings not available on the regular menu selection.

We feel the food quality was still just as good. But ordering this way, was new to us, and we prefer the old way. You can no longer get the seasoned fries, however.
The inside of this one looks exactly like the one I'm at in Indiana. It was a bummer when corporate took a bunch of favorites away and changed a ton of other things. It isn't the same anymore.
Steak 'n' Shake began in Indiana and we have loved it "forever" but when they quit doing table service we abandoned them. We are OLD and do not like the kiosk approach.
I don't care for it, either. I still love their burgers, but I do not like the way they have it set up now. And you can no longer get the seasoning on their French fries, either. They used to offer the parmesan and the Cajun seasonings.
Burgers looked great! I've been to Steak n Shake once. The wife and I like Dario fast food restaurants and Culver's fast food restaurants! Have yall been to either one of those? I guess the closest Dairio to yall is in Clemmons?
Haven't really heard of Dario, but our son told us we need to try Culver's. We don't really have one close by, but he ate at one, I think when he was in Wisconsin, and really liked it.
I honestly lost all hope during COVID and such with this place. They got rid of a lot of the good stuff like the chili 3 way. Also they don't even put the cheese on your own fries anymore! Same when I got a chili cheese fry. That cheese on your fries at 3:36 is pitiful lol. I want a lot of cheese please. As for the 4 meals thing I truly feel that they skimped on making the burgers as good.
I thought Steak 'n Shake was pretty good. The one that was close to my house closed about a year ago it was replaced with a Chipotle. I haven't tried it yet . A lot of restaurants have gone to using the kiosh, I don't really care for them, I think they are complicated to use.

Talk about a disappointment. We haven't been in one for awhile. Interesting about only being able to use a kiosk. What ever happened to human interaction?
Exactly! I didn't care for the new way of doing things at all, not to mention that they had the nerve to take away my parmesan fries and my mushroom burger. At least they still have the garlic burger, which is my other favorite. I have to say the food was still as good, but don't care for the lack of interaction, like you said.

We love Steak and Shake but ours in Jackson Tn got so bad it closed. It was really really bad. It was awesome at one time. We were sad to see it go.
Used to like the Wisconsin burger don’t see it on the menu. Lots of places are cutting the menus the ingredients and the service.

Which Clemmons exit is this Dario off of? We're familiar with Exit 184, where the Mi Pueblo Mexican restaurant is.

It's gotten a bit bad IMO since COVID.
