I got the iPhone 16 Pro 512GB and I have no regrets, I normally don't get Pro models but Verizon offered me $1000 for my iPhone 13 mini which was too good to pass up. I've had the phone for about 3 weeks and I'm impressed, it's definitely a huge upgrade from the 13 mini, it did take some time to get used to the large size but I think the size is just right. One thing I don't love is the camera button, I think it should be placed a little lower so you don't have to reach up so much when your phone is horizontal. I think the battery life is pretty good, the A18 Pro chip seems to be very efficient. Also, the phone seems to run fairly cool as well. That being said, without the $1000 trade in from Verizon, I'm not sure if I'd pay retail for the phone. As for the harsh comments about the iPhone 16 Pro, I get it but this is more of an incremental upgrade, nothing earth scattering. I tend not to upgrade too often, roughly every 3 years but I think the 16 Pro will serve me nicely for the next 3 years.
Great video, very helpful for understanding the device and forming my own opinion. But between the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro, which do you recommend for the long term? Consider that I currently have an iPhone 11, so either way, I'm in for a big upgrade. I've always been passionate about photography and videography, and on one hand, I was wondering if it’s worth switching to the new 16 Pro given the improvements to the camera, or if I should just get the 15 Pro. My only concern remains the camera control; I wouldn’t want it to be inconvenient for everyday use.
I got the Pro Max, and I do notice the screen difference. The bezel being so thin makes the screen look much better than the 15 Pro Max in my view. The phone doesn’t feel bigger in the hand. But the screen is just gorgeous. I don’t like the camera button at all, and I’m also unhappy that Apple Intelligence isn’t even close to ready and won’t fully ship until 18.4. The camera for me has been far better than the 15 Pro Max in most scenarios.

I'm coming from an iPhone 7 (yeah, that's right - an iPhone 7!), and have been putting off getting a new phone for several years (no kidding!!!!). There's been so many improvements in the iPhone lineup in just the past 4 years. At one time I was considering an iPhone 12 Mini, but the mini's were discontinued so I haven't really considered a new phone since. This year, I'm ready to pop for the iPhone 16 line. I've waited long enough and this is (finally) my year to upgrade. The biggest question is which model to go with. I've never been in love with the Max models (really don't want a phone that won't fit in my pants comfortably), and I'm concerned if the cost difference and technology differences will be too much overload to go to a 16 Plus versus a 16 (remember, I'm coming from a stone age, home screen button, iPhone 7 so I've missed out on SO MUCH IMPROVEMENTS over the past 8 years). Bottom line, I'm just afraid that these changes will be too much for my poor primitive brain to process (think Phill Hartman on Saturday Night Live and his Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer who says things in the modern world supposedly "confuse and frighten" him). it's gonna be a big change for me. Honestly, I see this as life altering. I just don't know if I can handle the 16 Plus or is it worth it to pull the trigger on that much extra technology and cost (after living in the stone age for way too long!!). Advise?

I note that my 16 Pro's BT module seems to get REALLY hot. I was connecting to some victron solar devices, and was checking the Victron's to see what temp the solar charge controller and Inverters were getting to, only to find that a spot on the back of my 16 Pro, about a centimeter above the logo, and a centimeter to the right of it was getting up to 109f. By contrast, lol, the Victron devices pumping nearly 4,000 watts of Solar into our EV were only running at 105f... What's up Apple ?
I finally upgraded from 13 Pro (gold) to 16 Pro (white) and it’s GREAT. BTW I’ve rocked iPhones without cases since XS and 13 Pro and have no problems. If you don’t drop them a lot iPhones are made so much stronger now that you don’t need a bulky and ugly case on them.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned about heat issue with the 16P. You can google this and it's a known issue. I've exchanged this phone three times at the Apple store, and they all exhibit same symptoms: phone screen and back case heat up fast within minutes of general light use, such as surfing the web and watching youtube videos. I don't think it's "normal" for phone to feel really warm. I guess I will just have to get used to it.
I want to share a problem Is it only mine or does everyones 16p.m has an issue on your top right screen (right infront of camera and even the borders) when you tap a lil hard i feel like not so sturdy or has some kind of gap or just fragile. Tapping elsewhere feels different like good build quality but top right side is just not having me. Help ?
The iPhone 16 is fine. I keep hearing more b*tching about the phone looking the same, as the last iPhone. Not sure what people were thinking it was going to look like. What would piss me off is if Apple takes the better part of a year bringing all the AI stuff to the phone, then next September dismissing the 16 that people put up with for that year, and touting the 17 to be a "better" AI phone. That would be a slap in the face to its users who forked over $1000 only to have to be patient getting what Apple promised.

not me watching with my iPhone 12. I watched this wondering if I should upgrade. My phone still works as intended and while I appreciate the effort in the review I still don't see a reason to upgrade to this unless the phone is broken. Also, This review seems almost copy and paste from all of the other iPhone reviews I have seen so I believe there is a community that is just calling it a "brutally honest review" but doesn't really discuss more than surface-level topics that are almost always covered in apples yearly new iPhone report.
After 16 or so iterations it’s just very difficult to get excited by another iPhone. So the reviews become very samey - if you have last year’s model then no need to upgrade, if have one from 3-4 years ago and you can afford it and want to then upgrade. At this point apart from AI and the cameras what is the point?
WHAT THE HELL ARE TALKING ABOUT? if i hade iphone 13pro / 14 pro why would i get the regular 16?!?!there never was a choise between 16/16pro... its for diffrent people!! those who will always get the pro and those who wont
"Brutally Honest" dont you mean soft handed. These yearly "upgrades" for the last three years are insulting and I find it hilarious and sad that you called the screen being dimmed to 1 nit game changing. But hey you and many of these other tired reviewers gotta put food on the table.
Idk why someone would buy the pro over the pro max! You get larger screen, humongous battery life, and the best phone to date. Why not spend extra $100 for it. Makes no sense t me
I'd like the bigger screen but as a guy wearing jeans pretty much all the time I'm worried it's a hassle getting it in and out of my pocket. Maybe it's not a concern at all.
Apple shouldn't have marketed apple intelligence as hard as what they did as they've created an expectation which seems like will only be fulfilled next year, if I was an only Apple user I'd be disappointed.

high refresh rate screen is worth the upgrade for me at least as someone who went from 12pm to 15p but I don’t see myself upgrading from this for years to come
12 pm I would upgrade. 13 pro maybe too but anything after that no. I went from 12 pro to 14 pro 2 years ago and even that felt refreshing. Maybe because of the bigger cameras Dynamic Island and 120hz.
The 15 was great. Therefore, 16 is also great because is the same phone 🤣 "Better camera and more colours" Really? You are not allowed to say how disappointing was this update or are you biased?
NO Bro, iPhone 16 pro doesn’t charge at 45 watts. How many times we hate to go thru this? Apple not even mentioned that in the keynote. Only 30 to 34 what’s my friend.
I love how Apple has people ridiculously trained lol. They could have enhanced the action button to have multiple functionality instead of doing one thing at a time . But of course they did nothing to improve it so somehow the gimmicky camera button gets praised as a need when it really isn't . This phone is a very small update from last years. Along with the very cheesy and disingenuous Apple Ai they tried to. see knowing it wouldn't even be on the phone . Amazing that people still support this company like they do .
This has to be the dumbest comment of the day. Android phones all stayed the same in 2024... rearranging the rear cameras isn't a new phone. The iPhone 16 Pro's got bigger screens, bigger batteries, studio mics, faster charging, and a cool new camera button. Those changes add up to a new user experience I didn't have with my 15 Pro Max. Notice the boring iPhone beats every Android phone on speed, battery life, and cameras
Tech channels and the real world are miles apart. In the real world...the iPhone is #1 in sales and the most popular smartphone. The tech media claims the iPhone is "boring" but it beats every Samsung and Pixel phone on speed tests, battery life tests, and camera tests head to head. I owned the 15 Pro Max and the 16 Pro Max has a bigger screen, way better battery life, studio mics, and faster charging...the user experience isn't the same

No, just ditch your phone and go back to the stone age
Photographically digital zooming is terrible. What is being done is NOT a zoom, but cropping the image, which only zooms in on pixels.
Wallpaper?
I note that my 16 Pro's BT module seems to get REALLY hot. I was connecting to some victron solar devices, and was checking the Victron's to see what temp the solar charge controller and Inverters were getting to, only to find that a spot on the back of my 16 Pro, about a centimeter above the logo, and a centimeter to the right of it was getting up to 109f. By contrast, lol, the Victron devices pumping nearly 4,000 watts of Solar into our EV were only running at 105f... What's up Apple ?
What??
Thinking if I should upgrade my 14 plus to 16 pro
I finally upgraded from 13 Pro (gold) to 16 Pro (white) and it’s GREAT. BTW I’ve rocked iPhones without cases since XS and 13 Pro and have no problems. If you don’t drop them a lot iPhones are made so much stronger now that you don’t need a bulky and ugly case on them.
Hi man, greetings from Argentina, could you share the wallpaper?
I'm surprised no one has mentioned about heat issue with the 16P. You can google this and it's a known issue. I've exchanged this phone three times at the Apple store, and they all exhibit same symptoms: phone screen and back case heat up fast within minutes of general light use, such as surfing the web and watching youtube videos. I don't think it's "normal" for phone to feel really warm. I guess I will just have to get used to it.
Not an issue. Just bad luck
@@Explorer92 You must be one of the few lucky ones. It's basically playing the lottery to get a "defect free" phone. I'm jealous, but good for you
It's a great smart phone! Great review, thanks for sharing.
I’m rocking iPhone 14 it’s been good iPhone so far🎉
7:15 how come your icons are so much different than mine? Is there an icon selection I'm missing?
Dark mode. Edit Home Screen- top left - edit
plse share that wallpaper link
It's not a realy 45W charging speed. It's a bunch of video on youtube about that.
I want to share a problem
Is it only mine or does everyones 16p.m has an issue on your top right screen (right infront of camera and even the borders) when you tap a lil hard i feel like not so sturdy or has some kind of gap or just fragile. Tapping elsewhere feels different like good build quality but top right side is just not having me.
Help ?
0:38 the answer is NO. And I’m an iPhone user
The camera control is one of Apple’s biggest blunders in my opinion.
I agree it really should have been placed slightly lower on the phone so it's easier to reach when you're holding the phone horizontally.
Cause you can’t use it 😂😂😂 that’s like staying a manual car is trash cause you don know or want to learn to operate it
how? it’s very useful if you took a couple minutes and tried to learn how to use it. especially for zoom
@@JohnMcLovin-xq3qgnope. middle of the frame where the finger or hand doesn't rest, and better reachability for using vertically, or slightly lower. hands rest on the lower part of the phone, leading to accidental triggers.
it's very easy to adjust the index finger for horizontal use.

For me Battery Life and improved thermals are worth it

not me watching with my iPhone 12. I watched this wondering if I should upgrade. My phone still works as intended and while I appreciate the effort in the review I still don't see a reason to upgrade to this unless the phone is broken.
Also, This review seems almost copy and paste from all of the other iPhone reviews I have seen so I believe there is a community that is just calling it a "brutally honest review" but doesn't really discuss more than surface-level topics that are almost always covered in apples yearly new iPhone report.
im actually enjoying the phone from the iPhone 14 Pro. I like the camera button so far also
Any one know where I can grab his wallpaper from?
Is it true that the modem is x71 not x75?
Yes
Whoever did the sponsor block on this video, the seek bar is like a rainbow lol. Hat tip to you.
an almost 1:30 ad in a 9 minute video should be illegal
Also this is just reading off a spec sheet and listing features. Nice.

The BRUTALLY honest review made me think, should I wear protective gear for this?
There usually isn't much difference from year to year.

WHAT THE HELL ARE TALKING ABOUT? if i hade iphone 13pro / 14 pro why would i get the regular 16?!?!there never was a choise between 16/16pro... its for diffrent people!! those who will always get the pro and those who wont
Chill out bud
These TH-cam reviewers are so stupid. They ramble and don't get to the features people want: Camera and processer.
Apple removed the Legendary Touch Bar, but added a camera button for iPhones..
I have mixed feelings on Photographic Style. It’s taking me a while to dial in a look. I loved Rich Contrast.

Stop using the " Brutally Honest" just because it made more view. 😅
Trade in 15 PM for the 16 PM.. they got me every year, take my money… 😂❤ great videos…

The camera control is the new Touch Bar
The most obvious choice this year is getting the 15 Pro on a discount.
Very funny 👏
Cleanup in photos works pretty well especially for small objects. In one case, I removed a lawn mower and its "driver" from a photo. Worked very well.
"Brutally Honest" dont you mean soft handed. These yearly "upgrades" for the last three years are insulting and I find it hilarious and sad that you called the screen being dimmed to 1 nit game changing. But hey you and many of these other tired reviewers gotta put food on the table.
6:14 complete lie, just tried this and my screen is still bright
Idk why someone would buy the pro over the pro max! You get larger screen, humongous battery life, and the best phone to date. Why not spend extra $100 for it. Makes no sense t me
I'd like the bigger screen but as a guy wearing jeans pretty much all the time I'm worried it's a hassle getting it in and out of my pocket. Maybe it's not a concern at all.
The dimmer has been around for a long time....
It’s these fools fault for thinking you need a new iCamera every year.

Apple shouldn't have marketed apple intelligence as hard as what they did as they've created an expectation which seems like will only be fulfilled next year, if I was an only Apple user I'd be disappointed.
iPhone 16 pro max ❤
Please do a review about FIND MY ,,,,
i own the iphone 16 pro and i cant get over how good the find my works for airtags and finding people
Very fast and pin pointing and then pinging my watch to find my phone in the house is amazing totally different way of doing this
WHY ARE REVIEWERS ONLY TALK ABOUT THE CAMERA ? 6:41
I'll make a review about watch ripping my penis skin
Spoiler alert : if you have a 12 PM, DON'T need to change it
high refresh rate screen is worth the upgrade for me at least as someone who went from 12pm to 15p but I don’t see myself upgrading from this for years to come
12PM WORTH the upgrade for sure
12 pm I would upgrade. 13 pro maybe too but anything after that no. I went from 12 pro to 14 pro 2 years ago and even that felt refreshing. Maybe because of the bigger cameras Dynamic Island and 120hz.
I upgraded from 15 Pro Max
👀
The 15 was great. Therefore, 16 is also great because is the same phone 🤣
"Better camera and more colours"
Really? You are not allowed to say how disappointing was this update or are you biased?
Camera control, reminds me of 3D Touch

NO Bro, iPhone 16 pro doesn’t charge at 45 watts. How many times we hate to go thru this? Apple not even mentioned that in the keynote. Only 30 to 34 what’s my friend.
it takes 45 watt from charger when gaming at full brightness AND charging with 30 watt
@@nagelsmih not even when you plus 100 watts charges. Apple not even mention those 45 watts in their specs.

The most incremental update EVER. How they can even pass this off as a new model is beyond me.
