That camera control button is definitely a gimmick in my opinion. It's way too finicky to use even after a month of owing the phone. One good thing however, the photos on the newer iPhones come out great. It has this filmy look to the photos which I really like.
@@siddharthbhawsar2557 Apple is literally calling it the 'Camera Control' button lol. They are never going to add new features that are not camera related to this button in a million years.
I found using the button exclusively to control the "aperture" is my personal best use for it, as it'll force any photo to enable the background blur rather than waiting for the 'f' icon to pop up on the screen.

The camera control is the main way I shoot now. I've honestly wanted a dedicated button for taking pictures for many years, and using the volume button wasn't sufficient for me with modern models. With extra features baked in to camera control, I feel it makes fine-tuning an image way easier than swiping through a the screen controls for the same adjustments
I would also like to add that after having been out for a hike yesterday I noticed it's just really fun to use! Maybe it's a bit faster for most to stick with the old workflow but I was always quite overwhelmed by all the features and how they are presented in the UI so this solution is just a better user experience for me personally.
I know this is going to sound ridiculous... but I returned my Sony A6700 for a refund.. and kept the iPhone 16 Pro(white, 256gb). For 99% of the photos that I take, the iPhone is a much better choice. Not to mention that the iPhone takes much better video when I'm walking around because the image stabilization is nicer. The photo and video qualities at night are also better with the iPhone 16 Pro. (not surprising, since computational photography always wins by making night photos look 10 times better!)
I went from the 14 Pro Max to the 16 Pro. The smaller size is much better for me as is the reduced weight. For me, the battery life is excellent and I have no problem getting through the day. I'm not on it all the time as my average screen time is about 1.5 hours. I played with the camera control for a bit, then disabled it. It's just not something I'll likely going to use. I got the Black Titanium 256g and then put it in a Phone Rebel Gen 6 case. This is a phone I'll keep for several years to come. Nice vid!
What's amazing to me (and annoying if I'm being honest) is how nowadays we buy "phones" that should actually be referred to as cameras that can make phone calls and send texts. The biggest selling point for iPhones over the last 3-4 generations has almost exclusively been its camera abilities and now it's the same with nearly ALL smartphones! I personally couldn't care less about what kind of cameras it has, I'd much rather them spend that effort on things like better batteries or actual IMPORTANT AND USEFUL stuff. How about ways to make the more resistant to scratches, cracks or other damage? I'm simply saying, if I was worried about taking a ton of videos and pictures I'd just buy a camera whose sole purpose is to take pictures/videos. It started out as a nice "extra" back on my old flip phones (yes being nearly 40 years old I'm more than old enough to remember the old flip phones and in fact I remember being a kid and seeing my nana's phone that couldn't even fit in your pocket because it was so huge) now it seems like companies are putting more effort into the camera than any other part of the entire phone.
Well what else can they do? Cameras are something that gets better with each iteration, like the cpu, but stopping scratches or cracks I suspect is left to the user. If they created a non breakable screen/phone it would probably cost too much than the market can bear. Plus, a small feature/upgrade each year keeps the money mill turning, no manufacturer wants you to have the perfect phone or there’s nothing to bring out next year. I just think people need to resist the desire to want a new phone each year, that’s something I don’t comprehend.
I’m moved from the 14 pro and it’s huge difference for me tbh feels like I got a max the bezels and the size not to crazy but enough for me to notice a bigger difference also the titanium does make it feel more premium to me
I just did a 30 days later video myself (although not a review) I agree with you about the battery life being very similar to the 15 Pro, I wish the Camera button was better positioned tho I feel like it’s in a super awkward spot especially compared to something like a Xperia phone
I saw a video and they were saying that the touch button was meant for something else that wasn’t quite ready at launch time and that’s why they used it for the camera. Maybe in the near future we will be able to use it for something else !
im actually starting to like the camera control button. what you have to do is remove the camera button from everywhere and force yourself to use it. then it becomes pretty dope
I am loving the dedicated camera button. I wish Apple made it bigger and wider than the volume buttons combined. Also one must be added on the top for a dedicated selfie.
My iPhone 16 pro battery is not good at all ! It lasts as long as my old iPhone 12… and I’ve seen a lot of comments like mine so I think apple should do something very soon ! It’s not ok for the price we paid
Personally I enjoy the camera control button, don't understand why so many people hate it. It's really convenient to open the camera in one click, not changing the position of your hand. And if you don't want to use it - no one forbids you using casual methods.
The button should be longer and should have haptic feedback with each tick of the sliding increment, similar to Apple Watch crown feeling. I think it would help it more. I personally don’t find it convenient enough to use on a whim on my 16 pro.

After a week of using the iPhone 16 Pro Max, here are my thoughts on the camera control button: 1. Adjusting photo settings with the new button takes too long compared to tapping the screen. 2. The button’s placement feels awkward when holding the phone vertically. 3. Fully pressing the button can cause the phone to shake, often resulting in blurry images. I just switched to Iphone because I have been an android user all my life and this happened. Planning on selling it and switching back to android. Worst phone experience of my life. Never again 👎
I like my 16 pro coming from a z flip 5. Got tired of huge phones so the 6.3 was perfect . Honestly I don’t really use the camera button I guess I’m use to looking for camera widget 😊 but I have no regrets coming back to iPhone
Have you encounter cellular signal issues yet? Like you’re getting weaker signal bar while the previous gen 13-15 (both base and pro) has more bar than the new 16 Pro
I recently got an iPhone 16 Pro, and I’ve noticed a slight rattling sound when I shake the phone gently. It seems to be coming from the camera area, but I’m not sure if this is normal... Has anyone else experienced this with their iPhone? Should I be concerned?
Can confirm mine rattles as well. Likely is the lens rocking around when the optical image stabilization is not engaged. When you launch the camera app, the rattling goes away. Actually pretty fascinating! This also happens in larger mirrorless cameras with IBIS. I'd say it is nothing to worry about 🤓
I've had the 16 for a month now and I love it! Although I still haven't found a pretty case that I like.
bro! I got one that looks like something out of an adventure movie like Spielberg's! It's called Vionentus Elite leather series

I like my 16 pro coming from a z flip 5. Got tired of huge phones so the 6.3 was perfect . Honestly I don’t really use the camera button I guess I’m use to looking for camera widget 😊 but I have no regrets coming back to iPhone
A bateria dura o dia todo?
Have you encounter cellular signal issues yet? Like you’re getting weaker signal bar while the previous gen 13-15 (both base and pro) has more bar than the new 16 Pro
Apple Intelligence is not the biggest selling feature at all. It's the least impressive AI Model out there and quite underwhelming.
I'd say it is nothing to worry about 🤓
Good to hear, thanks for the reassurance!
