- Authorities say a man driving a mustang died after crashing during a high-speed police chase in Georgia. The Bulloch County Sheriff's Office said the pursuit began when a deputy attempted to pull the man over for driving on a suspended license and a felony warrant when he allegedly fled.

Apparently he was driving on a suspended license and had a warrant. He died in the crash. Those things aren’t worth dying for.

It didn't disappear. It just abruptly stopped, lol.
That speed wobble is actually proof the driver has not become a master of that car and should retire before he kills an innocent person. Learning to drive a fast sports car or street bike takes lots of trial and error and if you ain’t got some type of natural ability from the get go your playing with death and innocent peoples lives. Take it to the track!

The Mustang has had rear differential problems for decades. Not just recalls either they're just unsafe

If the alleged action is recorded by an unbiased and properly functioning device, it ceases to be alleged, and the perp performing said action is guilty of fleeing. A court declaring the suspect guilty is a reaffirmation, not a confirmation, of a past event whose nature was already decided when the event was recorded.
I'm going to guess that final speed was 121mph. I'm going to also *guess* that he hadn't driven that fast before, the governor chirped at him at the time he went over the expansion joint ahead of that bridge, he looked down at the instrument cluster because of the sound, it lifted the suspension enough to freak him out, he wasn't experienced enough to keep it straight and true at that speed without looking at the road, he induced a fishtail, and that was Murder She Wrote.

125mph is what the V6 governor is set to, for the v8 5.0 it set to 160mph. He was going well above 140 before he hit the bridge. Surprisingly they probably lived.

@hoodmobbin he died. The V6 S550 Mustang is electronically limited to 121mph. All nonperf EcoBoost Mustangs top at 121mph. There is typical deviation between individual cars that could possibly register 125, but that is not what the governor is set at. If you were to tell me that you personally have seen one rev limit at 125, I would believe you and I would still say that the electronic rev limiter hits at 121mph on a V6 and on a standard EcoBoost Mustang.
He was absolutely not going 150. That was not a GT

Just because you have a powerful car and a good suspension, without experience in most case on a back road you aren't going to outrun a Troop. He has the advantage of just keeping you in his sights while you take crazy chances. In beginning Trooper did not have a seatbelt on, hope he ticketed himself for that.

There was some savage power in that vehicle. All was going ok until he decided to use that power. I wonder if he would say the end result was worth it or perhaps thinks he should have just stopped the vehicle and dealt with his legal issues like a man?

The car went into the water. Officers dove and freed him, but he had already expired.

Too many people in this thread have sympathy for the guy who sped away from the police. How about the people he could've put in danger? People who put others in danger deserve no safety, nor sympathy.
That could have been the fate of the cop as well but But he was smart Because right before he cross that flat bridge, he got in the middle of lane and avoided The dip at the threshold Of the road and bridge. If you watch closely you can see that is the exact moment the mustang Started swaying.

Wet roads and speeding are a recipe for disaster.
Some people aren't ready to handle high-speed and while in a panic it makes matters worse. The G forces are a lot higher when going way faster so it can throw people's steering off.
@@Hillbillyscustoms If you drive really fast, you get thrown around in the car and it would feel like a rollercoaster. Some people aren't used to getting over the effect of zero gravity and temporarily cannot control what they are doing. A lot of people have died from that happening and/or the suspension isn't setup for an out-of-control situation to occur.
A lot of vehicles are setup for high-speed control without bumps but when bumps happen the vehicle becomes unstable as the shock compresses and uncompresses too slow or too fast resulting in the vehicle steering going the wrong direction resulting in a crash.

Look closely at the rear of the Mustang. Looks like drag bars on the rear end. That likely is what messed up the car's handling at high speed when he hit the dip.

1) You can't OUTRUN A RADIO
2) You can't outrun (air support) if your county has several police helicopters
3) If you drive like a madman ( your tires on not up to spec. ) because you powerslide and drift all day and spin out the tires ALL DAY EVERYDAY and your tires are crap

When he hit the first bridge it made the car unstable and he overcorrected. If you notice the cop takes the bridge in the middle of the road. The mustang took it on the right side.

Looks like he gunned it ( accelerated ) & lost traction to his rear wheels. It's DANGEROUS driving on a dusty road with loose gravel and dirt. Possibly he's drunk/drugs/or whatever.
His car was fishtailing which means he lost control of his rear tires which can happen on a dusty curved road.

The road is clearly super wet in spots. Which is worse than solid wetness. Mustang or not, no high hp RWD car should be going that fast on that road.

At that speed doesn't take much to pancake yourself. Even a minor overcorrection with the steering can have you flying into a tree.

Anyone who lives in Georgia (like myself) knows the roads are often dark and curvy. It’s hard to see on these roads, especially at night. Losing control of the vehicle when you can’t see ahead of you is a nightmare. Just obey the law, it ain’t that hard.

I can see going down the road a bit to turn off on one of those side roads to avoid being on the road. But he blew past so many.
I’ve seen numerous cars start to fishtail at speed where the swings get greater and greater until they go off the road. What is this? An oscillation produced by driver correcting too late and too much or the suspension becoming unstable in some fashion? Too much power applied causing oversteer? Looks like a dangerous flaw.

Mustangs aren't known for sophisticated suspension tuning and their drivers aren't known for skill at speed. It's an all of the above.

The weight offloading from the tires caused by the dip or humps, if he's on the gas with this much rear wheel only power and a posi trac rear differential, it's going to break the tires loose. When rears break lose or lock up it makes the car want to spin around in 180 degrees! This is why drift cars and stunt drivers use handbrakes to control skid around corners and look cool but regular cars and pickups especially back in the day would lock up the rears on accident in a panic and the thing just whips right around the opposite direction.
It sounds like you can still hear the car rolling as the cop stops!
The highest road speed limit in the US is no more than 75mph. The average speed limit is about 60mph. Yet, average cars are made to go up to 140mph. Roads aren’t made to go fast on and cars are extremely unstable over 80mph. 98% of US drivers have zero professional racing skills. Human society make no sense.

Absent the concrete abutment on the bridge, he might have survived. Weaving like he lost control, coulda been those few wet spots on pavement.
NOTICE how when the OFFICER moved LEFT, the FLEEING vehicle swerved LEFT as well.
A common 'Tactic' where if a cop is behind you and moves right or left he is testing to see if you start doing it too ( if you are intoxicated, you WILL follow his motion ).
WHY he would do this at 121mph when he ALREADY is aware of the intoxication or just reckless behavior, Why not call in a spike, if he is going this fast, itll be hard for him to turn.

Wow! I had this exact same thing happen to me one time! A car passed me doing in excess of 100 mph and the police were in pursuit. When he reached this little bridge with reinforced concrete,then he ran into the post! It was amazing. The cop and I stopped,but the car had just disintegrated!

Rear wheel drive muscle cars, this is how they all meet their doom
"a lot" of them yes - I've noticed most simply refuse to buy proper tires and replace them often enough. Add bad tires, bad decision making, drugs/alcohol = usually bad things occur. I can say that unless you KNOW the road, yourself, the car, etc - it's not a wise decision to "test out" fate - as there's usually always unexpected things outside of your control that can occur.
As far as RWD vs. FWD - I have seen plenty of FWD vehicles under-steer into oncoming traffic. While they're easier to correct by letting off the gas, or slightly braking, they can still be just as disastrous. The worst are front weight heavy / biased AWD vehicles

Mustang are to light, that's why I'm a Chevy person
I have a mustang gt 350 cobra Shelby. I runs a 295 front and 305 back low profile tires. They have great traction on dry clean roads. I can get about 20K out of them if I keep off the throttle but usually they are shot after 15K. When road conditions are wet or dirty the width of the tires become a huge liability at high speeds due to the width of the tires. You can see at the end of the video the car starts to fishtail back and forth. Dodge muscle cars run less width on their tires and provide greater traction under these road conditions.
Once again, lack of respect for police leads to death of the law breaker - nothing new here.
