I was thinking the same thing. The kids now have parents who are not parenting. There are generations of lousy parents, squeezing out children with zero thought.
And there are people who want to abolish abortions. That is a horrible idea. Those people should be forced to parent the kids then.

Unless you raised yourself, you had training, role models. Not everyone has the same opportunity. Some kids are raised in hellish environments and aren’t taught anything, but somehow they learn to survive at a very basic level each day. That’s all they know- survival. It’s not what we think of as a healthy childhood, and they grow up to repeat the same thing. It’s generational trauma, and it takes a very strong and determined person to break that cycle.

I’m from Western New York. The school I work at had a threat as well. A kid wrote it on a stall in one of the bathrooms. No lockdown was issued but troopers were on scene the next few days since the message said it would happen two days later.
The sad part is a neighboring district went into total lockdown about a week prior. Apparently a kid sent a Snapchat to a friend that said “I’m the shooter.” There were over a dozen police cars on scene and kids weren’t released until two hours after the regular dismissal time.
Schools and Parents both need to start holding kids accountable. You can’t take this lightly and it sure as hell isn’t funny.

If the teachers didn't have to struggle with politicians placing their own RELIGIOUS Values into the school curriculum? If sexuality was taught at the age-appropriate levels (with LGBT concepts at no lower than Junior & Senior, if for no other reason than to make the hypocrites happy? This IS Florida we're talking about, right?). My point is this: It's hysterical in looking at people's individual high horses and still not notice the piles of sh*t, those horses stand on, when blaming others for "other people" problems...

At each lockdown the children are NOT being taught any lesson that they were in class for, it became a free lesson day, they got to see teachers trying to keep students safe, but they were not receiving the lessons due to,having to be crouching in the corner trying to keep safe. Only 1% of the ones who cause this problem would be the ones to fire the gun the other 99% did as a joke to get out of classes.
I grew up where we had bomb drills not from students or anything like that, these were drills because the IRA would plant bombs in shops, restaurants, bins in the local streets as well as in cars and yes even in schools, I was use to the bomb drills they never bothered me until the one time it was not a drill but was a reality. That one moment in my life left me with PTSD for the rest of my life I was 12-13 at the time. My parents ended up moving us away from the area but the damage was already done. Even though my new school was just outside of the Greater London Ring we still had bomb drills.
My parents were finally granted the permission to pack up and move to Australia which happened in 1978.
All these years later I still sit with my back to a wall, I mark all exits in my head incase I have to leave fast. I still jump at loud noises especially if a car backfires of a door slammed so hard it sounds like an explosion. Gunfire sends me into hiding. Someone walking up behind me and tapping me on the shoulders sends me into fight/flight mode. It got to the point I could not go to shows or function without getting overly anxious and stressed out. All of these were reasons why I left the city life behind me over 16 years ago it’s why my parents moved away from the city as well, it was getting worse in Sydney, car chases, gang warfares sitting quietly at home while listening to the gunfights 2-3 times in a week at night.
What we saw happening in the states and over seas had started to become more common on the streets of Sydney, my parents were the first to move, once they had gone I no-longer had my own safety net so when Mom got sick past the point of recovery I closed up my home and moved. I just never moved back to the city, I no-longer wanted that side of my life back.
Now it’s getting worse around the world, there is a war brewing, this is what happened before WWII, it’s no-longer of if anymore but a case of When it will happen.

Talk about breaking the school to jail pipeline should never have been used to excuse deliberate violence or threats of violence. Nor should it ever have come to require other students and teachers to just put up with regular outbursts of unintended violence. When behavior traumatizes and victimizes everyone else in the room, it's time for the kid to be removed to a more serious level of discipline than mere lectures or timeouts. The question should instead be whether behavior issues mean removal from regular schools to schools that specialize in handling kids with behavioral issues, or removal to a more intensive level of mental health care, or removal to the justice system, or more than one of those. The fix for the fact that we don't really have a social and mental health system and instead shunt most problems off to the police/justice system (or ignore problems until they're bad enough that the police are the only appropriate response) shouldn't be expecting everyone else in the school to tolerate bad behavior. All the other kids in these classrooms have their own rights to a safe education that needs to be enforced, too.

I knew very well what I was doing when I stepped out of line. Less than teen, the parent shares responsibility. It may be all the kid; the parents may be doing everything right. Good job Sheriff. We all need to be held accountable for our actions, no matter what age. If you don’t learn at 11, you will never learn.

Absolutely hold them responsible, show them that this is not funny in any way shape or form and that actions have consequences, because clearly these so called parents have no clue how to be a real parent

I remember when I was more afraid of a verbal threat about getting beat up, for not letting another student borrow something of mine. I went to the counselor's office to report the threat. He told me to go ahead and go to my next class and he would arrange a meeting with the assistant principal to discuss the matter. I addressed my concerns and got the situation resolved.

I am a SUBSTITUTE TEACHER in Florida and I got sick of the kids pulling shenanigans at school classrooms.... so... I wrote a list of all the shenanigans they commit. I thought I would come up with 50 or75 rude behaviors the kids do. I was wrong. I came up with MORE THAN 200 of them! When I confront the children about it, they VERY OFTEN SAY, "But... We are just having FUN... and GOOFING OFF! .... and we are not hurting anybody just having FUN." This problem is WAY BEYONE simple childish behavior. I am 69 years old and back in 1970 when I was in middle school, we had about 4 or 5 shenanigans we would pull. We did things like CHEWED GUM IN CLASS.... or.... threw a paper airplane.... or DAYDREAMED while the teacher talked... That's about the extent of what we did back then... but NOW the kids are SAYING or DOING absolutely anything that comes into their minds to do! They cuss each other... insult the teachers.... run around the room... jump on top of tables...steal things from each other! The list goes on and on. It is outrageous and the parents are to blame for not teaching their children how to act like civilized respectful humans. Some of the kids (not all of them) act like barbarians or animals in the classrooms. THAT's one reason why so many teachers are quitting.

Social media may be the best tool ever for law enforcement right now. These idiots can't help posting the evidence and dry snitching on themselves. And sticking the parents with those bills will be a huge wake up call.
