I find it as an ironic twist that Timothee Chalamet who is French is playing King Henry V of England and Robert Pattinson who is English is playing the Dauphin who is French.
It's such a great film it has great acting costumes photography the script and dialogue is absolutely brilliant it's not completely historically correct but there are many metaphors that make up for that what does everyone else think
Its one of the best film adaptations of a shakespeare piece I've seen. Apart from maybe Macbeth (2015), amazing visuals but the dialogue was too difficult to understand for me.
Best part was the breathing in armor right after the speech when the front lines were setting up , you could hear and feel the raw emotion of it all just through the breathing in the helmet , was an amazing shot
Sean Harris lowkey carried with his performance, so good at manipulating Henry (Calling him Hal like a friend), always buttering him up and calling him wise and “a king for the people” for seeking peace yet keeps driving in the point to invade France at the end every time 😂
@@RTW1738 its crazy because this actually happened but William wasn't his advisor he was the 3rd Henry's advisor and died in battle. Henry is still seen as one of the best dark age kings for England because of his resilience he also sadly died because of an arrow stuck in his head. he died in his late 30s
@@newlegacys8054 I know the movie deviates quite a bit from history. In my honest assessment of Henry V I think he goes down as an Alexander the Great kinda spectacle of a medieval king: Glorious victories in battles but died a premature death.
You know, another thing that I’ve probably missed, is it’s more than likely that William (the old man) probably sent Hal’s younger brother into as many dangerous situations as possible because he wanted him dead so that Hal could become the next king.
It's just brilliant and it's close enough to the events narrated in the sources to be very watchable. The only thing in it that doesn't ring true is when Henry kills his chief advisor summarily at the end. Because the man was a noble of high blood, no matter how angry he might have been, the real Henry would have been tried and beheaded him, because if he were not, all the other high nobles in Henry's kingdom would have revolted. In other words what's the use of being a high noble if the king can just kill you like a churl.
The score in this film was brilliant.
It should have gotten a nomination.
Hollywood is not the place for acknowledging masterpieces like The King. I'm glad they did not stain its reputation with a nomination.
Great film.
I’ve watched this 14 times so far. I still can’t get enough of it🖤
the clip or the movie?
One of the very best Cinemas I have ever watched, every actor was IINTO THEIR ROLES 110%
An awesome film and amazing performances all round. I find myself returning to rewatch it again and again.

Well, Henry V first language was French.
Sean Harris plays an incredible part in this movie! Loved his character
He is terrific in this movie. Very talented
Great film, great cast, the music score is utterly brilliant. Timothee is such a great wee actor, everyone was great in this film
This is why Chalamet is Paul Atreides
It may well be. I'm sure Denis might have heard of Chalamet taking and succeeding in the role of King Henry when he cast his Paul Atreides.
Chalamet is definitely going places. Arrakis being one of them
LISAN AL GHAIB!!

It's completely innacurate historically and the tragedy is that people will think it's history

Epic casting film for dune

I am nobody to you.
The role of William was greatly performed

why would he want to destroy a puppet

I will not be a king. I will work at a shop and be content with my lot.
‘Power attracts the worst, and corrupts the best’.
You should have turned the music up just a tad as I was almost able to actually hear the words
The soundtrack is so powerful, just showed this to my dog, and now he wants to go solve mysteries with skinny dude named shaggy
