When you think about it, the only reason Ragnar is dead is because he chose death. He never died in battle. He was never killed from a wound. He delivered himself to Ælle knowing he would be killed, and to bring ivar to great things. He knew his death would spark something in his sons, and he knew in order for his kingdom to go further, he had to hand it over to the mercy of his sons. To let his sons decides what they’ll do, good or bad. He chose to go to Valhalla. If that doesn’t make him even more powerful than the eye meets, then I don’t know what will convince you. But he was a man, a broken man. But a wise man who knew where he could, should and would go. He chose every piece of his fate. The Gods blessed and cursed him with who he is and was.
@S F yes he may be an amalgamation of several ppl. But that doesnt mean he didnt exist. All legends grow over time...but there are usually kernals of truth. Man, honestly might be my favorite Ragnar video. You clearly put a lot of work into this, somehow making it 10 minutes long while feeling fresh and engaging the whole time. Such a masterpiece Mat. Brilliant editing.
Perfection, Ragnar is more human who didn’t allow his ego to take his heart. He shows emotions, shows love and forgives others, admits his lies and wrong doings, remorse, open to others. Kings had to be alphas, ruthless not Ragar he had a soft spot seen more and more. Truth is In those days after a defeat like France meant exile, pride was important. He’s couldn’t stay away, it was hurting him, he had to see his family his sons, even if his people and family didn’t approve, they had the right to hate him, same with his sons. Sad as he knew they wouldn’t take his place or want to go with him he’d been gone too long. Saw this as his way of making peace with his home, family and people, he never wanted to leave like he did. He was sad and depressed for so long he was ready to die, knowing suicide meant he wouldn’t have been welcome in Valhalla. He made peace with his past and Fate had other plans. The trip with Ivar was bittersweet, he has the time to say all he could in a short time, sadly Ivar isn’t showing he received enough love. Ranting as so impressed this edit is amazing... Ragnar’s character is complex, he was conflicted, he had more empathy than an alpha man who were Kings. The human who had darkness, but he had light inside of him, that darkness couldn’t take his light , seen in how he ruled. In the beginning he wanted a better life for his family and his people. A place to farm in peace, a simple man who didn’t want to be King he had no choice. He regrets his mistakes with his family, and he didn’t hurt his wives, he showed compassion and remorse. One scene of many shows us who he is and it was when he forgives Floki and made sure to tell him he loved him knowing he’s not see him again. Floki did anything for Ragnar in the start and jealousy got the best of him. said he loved him. Gives me chills, well done!
@@marihuffman7703 Aslaug deserved every smack she got from Ragnar; she cheated on him with another man (potentially a God) multiple times and her kids almost died because she wasn't paying attention when she was fooling around. Yes, Ragnar did neglect her and didn't love her anymore after she bore him his kids (so I get 'why' she cheated) but he never cheated on her (not that we know off). I thought that Ragnar cheated with that psycho English princess (forgot her name) but all she did was pee on his wound to help him.
It would probably be him rolling around in the forest fighting his demons, being a hermit and yeah... As much as I loved his character that would be boring. They also didn't emphasize his leaving for years. Idk why they down played that.
When Ecbert says "I have to distroy someone truly great"😢😢 Believe me i never loved any character that much as i love Ragnar for his unforgetable performence❤️
This video captures so well my favorite part of the series. That Ragnar, in the end did not believe in the gods but chose to go out with his legend of a man who did believe. That’s something you don’t get from just watching his death scene and you did a great job here displaying that.
Obviously would of anything aethelstans death only adds more mental trauma that contributed to his drug addiction and depression. His death definetly hampered his progress
"I have to destroy something... Someone...truly great" one of the most heartbreaking moments in Vikings Ecbert and Ragnar were like-minded people, enlightened rulers, in a sea of fanatics and short-sighted men. The way Ecbert hesitates to do what he knows he must, because it breaks his heart to deliver to his death the only man who ever truly understood him. In the end, after their final game of will and intelligence, Ragnar won. And even his own son knew that his father loved Ragnar more than he loved him.
Travis was born to be Ragnar this mans smallest expressions drew me to the character the intensity in his eyes the smiles of what looks like a mad man and words of a man very much aware of all that is going on around him. Now I gotta watch this series from the beginning for the 4th time I wish he was still king though the series bedgest battles came after he was killed off which bothered me because he was a truly remarkable king and the actor playing him was perfection bringing him back from the dead hundreds of years later
Omg beautifully created! Love how you used Avatar soundtrack, really brings it out and all ^^ I had several waves of hair rising moments. But yeah, great. Top tier. The gods must be proud and smiling upon you and what you have created!
I came across these this one night on on the tube, then found the whole series on prime and watched all 6 seasons in a week as I had to work otherwise it would have been done in a few days. I would say that this is absolutely one of the best things I have seen in a long time other than The Sopranos
Great men aren’t recognised but only by himself , to be at a deserving position you need to get corrupt (lower yourself) in the way, when you achieve the power you pick it up but at the end the greatness inside you gets corrupted which slowly makes it collapse until it all goes away until u have nothing left inside you, so you accept everything that comes in life without a strong desire .
I recently started watching Vikings , & binge watched the whole lot. Brilliant. Triggered my research into ragnar legend, the vikings, King rollo, Alfred the great, etc, & was astounded as to how much real historic fact was crammed into this series...
Ragnar is quite possibly the greatest character in television history to me. At various points in the show, he may or may not be my favorite character (Bjorn, and Floki sometimes are), but that isn't because anything is wrong with his character, it's that sometimes I don't like his decisions. But, as Bjorn says, he is not a god, he is a man. Men will make bad decisions, that doesn't change how great of a character Ragnar is. His greatness transcends just the show, few characters in television are written so well that you can view them with an almost mystical awe, while also being so relatable.
This is the most tragic, beautiful, epic and profound edit about him I have ever seen. it portrays so efficiently the downfall of Ragnar, from common farmer, trough powerful king to end up a legend and in the same time from curious man, hurt man and finally broke man
Amazing video. I have already watched many videos about Ragnar Lothbrok (Vikings Series) and this movie is very good and very emotional. Many fantastic scenes from season 1, 2, 3, 4. Great job!!

After all these years now I truly understand when he was talking about power... he is the greatest viking of all times... for anyone thinking for a second he was doubtful about his beliefs or anything let me tell you it was clear as day for him and he was true to nordic religion. for you won't know your faith if you don't see the others.. anyways he was so blessed so powerful in his faith he had those visions of odin. A humans last moment before his death shows his/her true self the naked true self where you express your most core belief and view of the world. There at the end we see how we talks with no fear, choosing his fate, KNOWING choosing how his fate will be was actually THE fate for him and him talking about going to Valhalla with that viking fearlessness shows this was all a grand plan and how he actually succeeded.. finding this out made me cry almost for some moments i was in a realm thinking with him I only had few moments with him. but in that moment i understood him he is truly great.
Actually, that scene points out how uterrly wrong he was, whether Hurst intended it or not. In the Norse world, your life is written out, your fate sealed by the gods. No matter what you THINK you choose, you will end up where and when your Creator decided long ago, you cannot escape it, The Creator is greater in all ways then you are. Ragnar did die when the blind man saw him. Ragnar just assumed he knew who that blind man was, as did The Oracle. he was wrong, The Oracle was wrong in assuming, and so are you. Go back and watch it again. (Hint not the physically obvious man in the cart) Typical response from a smug atheist. You're always stupidly blind, proud, and fatally wrong in all that you do. He who sits in heaven laughs at you. You control nothing and are nothing because you see nothing but think you know more than you do. Keep raging against true wisdom, you'll die in your filth like so many others.
@@JamesRDavenport And yet, in the end, you believe a fictional portrayal of a historical figure says anything about a "real god." Religion is nothing more than a fictional story. One day, when you die, you will realize your superiority complex was nothing more than a child raving about magical beings and unicorns. You disdained a man or woman for quoting a tvshow, one that may have resonated with them. You took someone's joy just for having differing beliefs, just because they thought differently than you do. You condemned them to die in their filth, wishing destruction and regret upon them. You ridicule them, speaking as if you are above them. All men are equal; god states that in your little bible. Never should you hate for no reason; god states that in your little bibe. If your god exists, then you too are condemned to hell. You are clearly a horrible human being who should never step through the pearly gates.
It’s crazy how great this show was. The acting, the writing, etc. this character real or not is truly incredible. And I admittedly just realized that king Ecbert was in fact the blind man that seen Ragnar.
This edit is Trully great, it show the decline of ragnar, in the beginning he was so passionate and curious and he wanted to discover new lands and raid, but after each season he was less passionate about raiding and fighting after watching so many of his friends dying and so many people betraying him, arne and torstein died, lagertha and bjorn left him for many years, athelstan was killed by floki, jarl borg, king horik and king ecbert betrayed him, even floki (by killing athelstan) and rollo his brother betrayed him. Ragnar was a broken man but still one of the greatest Vikings. Travis Fimmel wonnour hearts with his performance and Ragnars death in Se4 was devestating, but there was Alex Hogh who saved the show with his own masterclass performance. Vikings for me is the best Tv series I've ever seen
I don't believe in the God's existence, man is the master of his own fate not the gods, the gods are man's creation to give answers that they are too afraid to give themselves. Ragnar Lothbrok

Southern CrossScorp well...He did smack the hell out of Aslaug. But you are so right with everything...he was a perfect balance of light and dark...
He..... was truly Great
He hit his second wife and he slept with another woman well with his first wife which will hurt her mentally
You gave it better words
" When everyone wanted you dead, i kept you alive, and this is how you reepay my love " 💔
#king_ragnar
i like how Ragnar thinks, because everyone think inwards but he think more of that. Our world is lack that kind of man
One if not the best historical dramas Ever. Ragnars acting was truly incredible awe inspiring
Totally obsessed. Love your talent Travis Fimmel

Watching ragnar in that pit crushed me, i dont think i ever recovered
The best video I've seen about Ragnar Lothbrok
Man I hope they do a series about where he went for all those years...
Season 6 and we still don't know the reason why he left
It would probably be him rolling around in the forest fighting his demons, being a hermit and yeah... As much as I loved his character that would be boring. They also didn't emphasize his leaving for years. Idk why they down played that.
When Ecbert says "I have to distroy someone truly great"😢😢
Believe me i never loved any character that much as i love Ragnar for his unforgetable performence❤️
This video captures so well my favorite part of the series. That Ragnar, in the end did not believe in the gods but chose to go out with his legend of a man who did believe. That’s something you don’t get from just watching his death scene and you did a great job here displaying that.
It makes you wonder: Would Rhagnar continue to fight on for his people and continue his conquest if Athelstan is still alive?
Why purposely misspell Ragnar?
Obviously would of anything aethelstans death only adds more mental trauma that contributed to his drug addiction and depression. His death definetly hampered his progress
I love your question , I just wonder how far he would've gotten if Athelstan hadn't died 😢
I think he wouldve been even more great... athelstan dieing broke him..
by far the best tv show i have ever watched. absolutely wonderful
the first 4 seasons definitely are imo aswell
I believe ragnar is one of the best actors of all time. All his performances even the ones without words are so perfect
Ragnar isn't an actor, it's Travis fimmel who PLAYS him who is the actor 😂
"I have to destroy something... Someone...truly great" one of the most heartbreaking moments in Vikings
Ecbert and Ragnar were like-minded people, enlightened rulers, in a sea of fanatics and short-sighted men. The way Ecbert hesitates to do what he knows he must, because it breaks his heart to deliver to his death the only man who ever truly understood him. In the end, after their final game of will and intelligence, Ragnar won. And even his own son knew that his father loved Ragnar more than he loved him.
Vikings is 10 times better than Game of thrones...realistic and character filled in each scene...
Both are masterpieces but in their own ways.
Ragnar died when Athelstan died.
He really loved Athelstan
Ur right but Ragnar than ignored his loved ones which becomes the reason for his destruction
I think a big part was the last back stab from Rollo to then after athlestand there was nothing left I have Ben there
Gay lovers but couldnt put that in
@@makaveli88888 I don't think so.
Masterpiece of an edit, 10 minutes of goosebumps. One and only Ragnar!
Omg beautifully created! Love how you used Avatar soundtrack, really brings it out and all ^^
I had several waves of hair rising moments.
"Power is given only to those who will lower themselves to pick it up"
Great men aren’t recognised but only by himself , to be at a deserving position you need to get corrupt (lower yourself) in the way, when you achieve the power you pick it up but at the end the greatness inside you gets corrupted which slowly makes it collapse until it all goes away until u have nothing left inside you, so you accept everything that comes in life without a strong desire .
I seriously can't stop watching the series over and over again
10 min very impressive! Blown away bro!! You came a long roads end man!!! I rewatched this for the second time now!!
That was great my friend. Really shows his charecter. Good job.
it's about 1 year when I see Ragnar dying . But even today I miss him every day.
This is just wonderful... it was never the same without him.. not even close. Wonderful character tribute
The best character on TV for the entery history!
One of the best acting performance I've ever seen in recent years
I recently started watching Vikings , & binge watched the whole lot.
Yeah 😍😍
Wow amazing ! Certainly one of the best tribute video of Ragnar that i've seen
The best tribute of anyone I’ve ever seen !!!
His character is the only thing I love the best in the whole series. Ragnar. The name itself is something. Once known, it will not be forgotten by us.
"And your the only one i can trust ... SO YOU MUST STAY" shii hit deep
this guy was the show and i want to see him in more shows/movies
This is the most tragic, beautiful, epic and profound edit about him I have ever seen.
it portrays so efficiently the downfall of Ragnar, from common farmer, trough powerful king to end up a legend and in the same time from curious man, hurt man and finally broke man
Amazing video. I have already watched many videos about Ragnar Lothbrok (Vikings Series) and this movie is very good and very emotional. Many fantastic scenes from season 1, 2, 3, 4. Great job!!
This man , deserves all the acting awards, LEGENDARY
I simply love travis fimmel . He is such great actor and deserves an Oscar for his playing Ragnar in yhe vikings. Love uou znd miss uou travis. Which you sll the best in the future snd I hope for you that uoy will succeed in getting enough money to bye yourself a farm in Australia. As is your big which. Love you
That was a fantastic tribute to one of the greatest Vikings ever. Very well done 👏👏
I had no idea about this show just randomly flipped to history channel during premiere instantly fell in love with his acting
Thanks very much for this awesome edit, I've been watching it for the past 2 years and I reckon will carry on doing so.
I was glued to the screen ! Amazing video!!!
Great enemies can be great friends. That is the only lesson learned in this history
He says to Ekbert he doesn’t believe it but says it out of love for his people not to betray them he way loyal to his people not the gods
Ragnar is the reason I watch Vikings. He's also the reason I nearly stopped.
Travis Fimmel was truly born for this role.
"The gods are just mans creation to explain what they are afraid to do themselves , I shaped my life and death me not you not the gods me "👏👏👏
Actually, that scene points out how uterrly wrong he was, whether Hurst intended it or not. (Hint not the physically obvious man in the cart)
Typical response from a smug atheist. You're always stupidly blind, proud, and fatally wrong in all that you do. He who sits in heaven laughs at you. You control nothing and are nothing because you see nothing but think you know more than you do. Keep raging against true wisdom, you'll die in your filth like so many others.
@@JamesRDavenport You seem like a lovely man
@@guiltyspark5313 You seem passive aggressive.
Why did they has such I blue eyes....handsome mans...❤🥰😍

Such a beautiful tribute, amazing editing
No one could have played Ragnar better then Travis for sure.
I don't believe in the God's existence, man is the master of his own fate not the gods, the gods are man's creation to give answers that they are too afraid to give themselves. Ragnar Lothbrok
Mybe if Atlstan was still alive he could feel the love of Jesus as atlstan did
A great father,
A great king,
A great leader,
A fearsome warrior,
An awesome friend
A loyal comrade.
All hail King Ragnar
Excellent tribute video, wonderful editing and perfect overlaying.
Your videos always give me chills. Fantastic editing.
I did not find the character of the hero Ragnal more beautiful, and in every episode it is as if it is an international movie Thank you.
The only Tv show where I shed a tear. When I saw Ragnar in the pit surrounded by snakes and dying, it was very hard to watch.
My favorite TV character. What an amazing portrayal ♥
Travis is truly an amazing actor
Thanks for honoring me..King Ragnar will reward you
Literal god worthy acting
