I’ve followed the Scout very closely since it came out in 2015. The water intrusion/bad cluster issue was only a problem on 2015-2016 bikes, as well as the Victory Octane. Indian has actually made several minor improvements to the cluster over the years, mostly fixing the seal, and adding/rearranging icons on the cluster. The reason there’s no recall, is there’s no safety hazard per say. I personally think there is potential for a safety hazard, as I’m sure it could shut the bike down as your flying down the highway, but that’s just me. That said, I think the most BS thing Indian/Polaris does is store the mileage info in the speedometer itself. I’ve heard of one person that was able to take his to a speedometer repair shop, and it took some time for them to figure it out, but they were able to add the mileage to the new cluster. Good Job, and nice bike.
Did you ever figure out if the miles ever self-corrected, or does this permanently reset the odometer to zero? I'm about to order a replacement speedometer for mine but not sure what to do when I try to sell the bike or trade it in.
Sadly the miles are gone. We’ve have thought about the same thing when it comes to trading the bike and not displaying accurate miles. Horrible design flaw on Polaris
Hello fellow scouters ,, My clock has also gone on my 2015 model, annoying thing is everything else works, lights ,indicators and best of all the bike starts. Just nothing on the clock any feedback would be greatly appreciated really don't want to spend £500 on anew one....
I want to flip my gauge so it is infront of the bars rather than behind. Do you think I could mount the actual gauge 180 degrees rotated in the housing to make that work. Just wondering if the screw/bolts will line up with the gauge technically upside down/rotated. Thanks!
UPDATE: The Cluster cost $320 I'm not sure why I said $600
can you send a link please?
@@valok1987 I ordered it over the phone from the dealership
@@mr.boosted9983 thanks

Thanks man! I couldn't agree more, I don't understand why they wouldn't store the mileage in the ECU!

I’m afraid to say the only fix is to replace the cluster itself to get the function back
@@mr.boosted9983 , Hi thanks for replying to my post , so the fault is within the cluster itself ?

I think it would! Have to give it a shot and see!
Did you ever find a way to get your miles back on the new odometer?
Unfortunately we have not.
My 2018 cluster just bit the dust, while I wait for a new one can I ride the bike or do I risk getting stuck?
I still rode just keep an eye on the fuel in your tank cause I ran out one time 😂
Dude my 2020 scout bobber has the same problem. The cluster shorted.
Put a towel on that tank!
