As regards to his incredible level of ability and unique style of playing, i agree. Should be on the list with all the well knowns of rock, the Blackmores, Pages, Knopflers, etc, who roll off most people's tongues.
@@iancaley2347 all you have to do is watch him do working man live in cleveland as people who see it for the first time fall over in awe. he's a good reason not to take rolling stone and the grammies seriously. blah blah is right
It's absolute musical brilliance and described by producer Nick Raskulinecz as; the "most complicated instrumental they (Rush) had ever written" ! - It exhibits the technical abilities, musicianship & prowess of Geddy, Alex & Neil. Geddy while playing bass needs to time triggers for the Mellotron, Alex transitioning electric & acoustic guitars and Neil hitting all the percussion pieces and triggers and leading the band in the complex timing.
Was born to late to see their prime and would have loved to see them live. Used to listen to this concert with my dad in the car. I love this band so much and snakes and arrows carries so much nostalgia.
Rush will continue to eternally blow my mind for as long as I'm blessed to listen to them. How do 3 dudes make layers and layers of beautiful sounds ? ....mind blown...
That's quite a journey. Good on you. As an Australian, they never came here. A real shame. But I watch my DVD's very often. There is nothing so remarkable as Rush.
I love how they don't take themselves so seriously. They're at the top of their game here and they got a guy behind them basting chickens, and chimps on the big screen.
That's the secret of not going insane...no seriously. Once you DO take yourself too seriously, everything will get to your head and we all know, where this road ends! When you're in the Limelight, you have to set up barriers, to keep yourself intact! Keeping a good sense of humor, is one ;)
Great stuff. Perfect as always. I live in Australia, so never got to see them live. One of my biggest regrets. and now I'll never get the chance. RIP Neil, you were my biggest inspiration.
I've always felt bad for you guys in the Aussie fan base who didn't get to see them. Back in the nineties I met a Rush fan in Perth. We sat at the pub all night drinking away as I we talked of the band and he heard my stories of the shows I had seen. Had a helluva hangover the next day. Thankfully there's a ton of live stuff up to feast the eyes and ears.
@@scottshields113 Ah thanks mate, I got a reply! Yep, I'm from Perth, maybe it was me you were drinking with ;) I kinda wish it was. As you say, there's plenty of live shows to watch on youtube, etc. Back in the 90s, Rush wasn't well known at all in Perth, or Australia as a whole. Usually it was through other muso's or band mates that introduced you to them. And slowly the word spread "hey, you gotta listen to these bastards". Luckily I found Tom Sawyer on a mix-tape from some Singaporian hooker I met while travelling through Asia. From that point on I was hooked. I'm sure everyone's got a story to tell relating to Rush. Good times - so long ago.
Are they from this planet or did they come from another galaxy to teach how to make good music and play instruments ?? God that band !! Thank you for all your musical legacy, thank you .
Geddy and Alex still make music and I truly believe it's about dedication to craft and art but I believe it's separation anxiety in that they miss these days without their friend. Their lifelong compadre who they honed a dynasty of impeccable musicianship and a lifelong friendship. These were good days. I was there.
Rush está acima de qualquer comparação. São 3 músicos no palco, desconheço uma banda com 3 pessoas fazendo o que fizeram. E ... pra quem não assistiu , como eu , nunca vai assistir novamente
Alex Lifeson, most underrated guitarist in Rock history. RESPECT!
As regards to his incredible level of ability and unique style of playing, i agree.

Brian May, also!
Great music, a superb performance, expertly filmed, an engaged audience, and a roadie basting chicken ... what's not to like?
Geddy's bass always brings so much character in every live performance... its insane
Geddy is the Bass Master
No one does rock instrumentals better than Rush, and this is one of my favorites.
May favorite video I'e ever seen. Long live RUSH!

You can argue the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, or whoever you want. Nobody will ever come close to these guys.
Razor Blade there's no 3 piece band with the drums and bass AND guitar so well interlaced, they sound like a much larger band than they are.
Matt Podjeski Yep, and as my people say, they're the holly trinity
Matt Podjeski RUSH, Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd are all great. My 3 favorite bands. But LIVE, I definitely think RUSH is the best.
True. They are leagues and leagues beyond those commercial bands
Yeah lm picky. This is the best performance of a song period
The musicianship is just unbelievable!!
and they never did the crosby stills and nash i hate those guys but i need the money and record advance so here we go again bit.
Rip, Neil. You'll be sorely missed 😭
Very missed... what a bunch of normal guys on stage, yet mega players... a true rarity.
geddy"s bass sound is so good
Was born to late to see their prime and would have loved to see them live. Used to listen to this concert with my dad in the car. I love this band so much and snakes and arrows carries so much nostalgia.
I know the word "underrated" gets used a lot when the topic is Rush, but this song... ridiculously underrated.
Holy shit, they actually played this live and it sounds just as good as the studio album.
Yeah dude, that's what Rush does.
The magic of Rush. Sometimes the live versions can be even better
They played this at the R40 concert. Fantastic.
Unfortunately, the R40 version wasn’t as tight as this.
was in Toronto
Neil Peart will be greatly missed! RIP Legend
Three of the nicest guys in music, mega talented and without ego....rare ...very rare, brilliant trio, long may they make great music.
Scary Hobo--Fuck Gene and Fuck KISS. That's a perfect example of how NOT to be a band.
Rush will continue to eternally blow my mind for as long as I'm blessed to listen to them. How do 3 dudes make layers and layers of beautiful sounds ? ....mind blown...
My second absolute favorite song, I had the privilege of hearing this at R40 in Buffalo. I had an OBE!! My absolute favorite song....Camera Eye!!
This is that song, that sound... In that times of reflection.
Thank you RUSH!
That bass guitar line is awesome.
Best live band ever
This is a great instrumental. Great bass lines, riffs, beats, arrangements.
It makes me so sad that I'll never get to see this greatness live.
Greatest rockband ever in action. Flawless & brilliant!
I love how the make this look so simple, this song is so complex compared to other music it’s not even funny…
That camera shot from 2:34 - 2:36, with Geddy jamming and the crowd all clapping in front of him is one of my favorites from any Rush DVD.
It was my favorite too. I was there between all those clapping hands.
Absolute magic, three humble guys giving us so much!
Amazing sound, chills always.
Thank you RUSH!!
None will ever compare!
The best simulation of a studio recording period
Undisputed, the three greatest musicians
I came all the way down from Bergen, Norway for this gig when I heard they were filming. Fantastic experience.
That's quite a journey. Good on you. As an Australian, they never came here. A real shame. But I watch my DVD's very often. There is nothing so remarkable as Rush.
To me RUSH is to MUSICIANSHIP what the BEATLES are to SINGING!! That's how I see it.
When they lock in, it's musical paradise
Love Geddy's bass playing on this
RUSH composed the best songs EVER DAMMITT !!!
CAN'T TOUCH THIS !💖💖💖✌🙏🙏💖💖💖 THANK YOU RUSHWIRE !!!👍👍
I love how they don't take themselves so seriously. They're at the top of their game here and they got a guy behind them basting chickens, and chimps on the big screen.
Yep. When I saw them they had washing machines.
Geddy’s dig at Alex’s Marshall Amp Towers is how it started. An inside joke.
That's the secret of not going insane...no seriously. Once you DO take yourself too seriously, everything will get to your head and we all know, where this road ends!
When you're in the Limelight, you have to set up barriers, to keep yourself intact!

I love this song!!!!! So fricken glad I lived while Rush was touring!!! RUSH is my FAV!!!!!
Melhor power trio de sempre.

Sad to hear they're retiring. Hey...it's been a helluva run. What a body of work. Incredible musicians. Thank you Thank you!
Great musicians
In my tiny mind, it's sweet to see Geddy and Alex, as they pass bass and lead guitars between each other.
Rock on in heaven, Neil ...

ladies and gentlemen..... Mr Geddy Lee!!

Such a great jam!
Saw them at SPAC on this tour. I always wondered what they did with the rotisserie chickens.
They are for the after concert party and for the crew. It's buried in an interview somewhere.
2:27-3:27
Best part of the song. XD
***** For sure, man. :)
Great guitar solo and a tasteful riff on bass during the solo. What a incredible song!
My favorite Rush instrumental (next to WorkingMan off the Ladyland recordings).
La Villa Strangiato
Any other band would have six people on stage.
The best!
Absolute connection.
