I think the cheese should be added on at the beginning. 1) they will be cheesier and 2) your keeping the wedges close so the cheese will not fall in the cracks, is defeating the purpose of you spraying them (because you want them crispy) because close together = soggy and steamed. See putting those chemicals in your system Paula...
I am a big fan of air fryers, especially the 'basket in basket' type like this one th-cam.com/users/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB A quick wipe of the inner basket with a piece of kitchen paper is all that is needed most of the time, with an occasional dishwasher clean after a few uses or after cooking something particularly messy. The Cosori Air Fryer works like a dream. My only issue is that, being lazy, I often forget exactly what setting I should be using and can't be bothered to look it up. There is plenty of latitude, though, so I guess the temperature and time, then check occasionally to see how things are going. Works all the time!
Paula, you should do a longer series on air fryers. So many of us got them gifted for Christmas and need inspiration!
I think so too. I'm finally ready to purchase.
A couple of tips…
1. Par cook your potatoes in the microwave (it will reduce the cooking time in the air fryer)
2. Place a sheet of parchment paper in the air fryer to make clean-up easier.
Zach...will the parchment paper take the place of cooking spray because I'm trying my bests to avoid that. I wonder if there is a 'broil' setting on an air fryer that will crisp things.
I purchased Paula Deen’s 8.5 qt airfryer on June 23rd from Amazon. We loved it and enjoyed using it so much. The wings were to die for! Unfortunately 6 months later it quit working in the middle of a cycle. I have called Paula Deen customer service and they directed me to The Meyer co. For the warranty. However, they don’t handle electric products. Only her pots and pans. I then sent several emails to the company on the back of the cook book included with the airfryer. No response! I am so frustrated because no one will stand behind this warranty. So buyer beware! I paid full price for a fryer that only worked 6 months. I can’t believe Paula Deen would want to be known for this kind of customer service !!!
Ive been researching these machines (all brands) & according to Amazon reviews this seems to happen to ALL air fryer brands. Reviewers recommend purchasing extended warranty.

I agree 100% Paula about the air fryer size. Teresa is correct as well about fitting in a small casserole dish. You can do small amounts in a large fryer but you can't do large amounts in a small one. I use my fryer nearly every day and would recommend people buy the biggest capacity they can find!
Yes! Mine is way too small!
Yup! I bought a good size convection toaster oven (air fryer is just a fancy marketing term for a convection oven). I can cook nearly everything in it unless it's so large I need the regular oven. It uses so much less power that it's actually noticeable on my electric bill!

@@tinktaylor444 America's Test Kitchen disagrees with you. An air fryer is nothing more than a less functional convection toaster oven. In fact there is zero difference between air fry and convection bake.
I had never heard of mayo on fries...until I met a friend from Germany. She always had mayo on hers. It took me a while to try it...but it is really good!!

I make these regularly. Spray w coconut oil and season as I feel at the time and then bake.

They look great. I have done wedgies like this before in my fryer. But one mention I would suggest not to close that cabinet door where ur fryer is. The fryer needs circulation and it gets hot so don't want u to start a fire.

Add some minced homemade dill pickles to your mayo, parsley, dill, thyme, mix all together & use your tarter for dipping.

Potatoes 🥔 were my favorite food growing up too. But I am 100lbs overweight. I heard roasted radishes taste like Potatoes. The carb grams of potatoes are 7 times greater than radishes. So I will try this recipe with radishes! 😋

Miss Paula I would love one of your air fryers, but I have parrots and can't use any cookware or appliances that have the non-stick coating on them ☹. The heat combined with the non-stick coating is hazardous to the birds. Those potatoes look so yummy

My mom is from Germany and was raised with Mayonnaise on her fries. In turn so were we. I do not like Ketchup so I put Mayonnaise on everything.
Paula I say oil the same way. Our southern tongues can't say it any other way...and in Europe, mayonnaise is the only way to eat French fries. Some people are scared of it but if you ever try it, you won't ever take them with ketchup again. Eddie you don't need to diet. You are handsome just as you are
He may have/need to for health reasons, weight is not the reason to diet.
